Glad to be back at Amari Watergate”

I go to Bangkok quite often as I have family in Thailand and I've stayed at Amari Watergate a few times in the past, during my trips last year I tried a some other hotels, just out of interest. Well, I learnt my lesson.....it was GREAT to be back at Amari Watergate this year, and I will definitely stay there every trip from now on. Why? Rooms are lovely (I got a free upgrade to a suite this time, something which has happened in the past, but the regular rooms are lovely too and I would always book standard). I love the pool, it is pretty with the nice planting and shape. Spa massage was very relaxing (a treat as I was flying home late that night...do go to Wat Pho for massage too). Breakfast is yummy, and I also treated myself to room service and a lazy tv night, which was great. Location is brill, I like Erawan Shrine and it's an easy walk and then easy to get to BTS. There's Big C supermarket close by, a good place to get a few spices and so on to take home. And lovely barbecue salted fish street food places just opposite (on a busy road, but food is great and so is the people watching and cold beer!). The folk who work at Amari are always helpful, welcoming and friendly. I booked only 2 days before staying (it was a last minute decision to stop in Bangkok on way home from the North East), so the price was higher than usual - I wanted to stay so I paid, but will plan ahead in future. I had a late flight home and didn't need to be at airport til 10.30pm, so I had a slightly late check out (only 1pm as hotel was busy) then a day in Bangkok and later in the evening Amari let me use their pool area and showers to freshen up and stored my luggage all day - this is all for free. Thanks Amari Watergate, you are great!

The perfect holiday”

My girlfriend and I enjoyed our 2 nights stay at Amari Watergate Hotel! To begin, I must say that the whole experience exceeded our expectations as this was our first time staying in a 5* hotel. Check-in was prompt and quick; the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, and her command of English was excellent. Due to online reviews and comments from my sister, we really looked forward to the breakfast spread and it certainly did not disappoint. There were the usual cooked food stations, inclusive of a staple Indian cuisine, and eggs, noodle soups and waffles/pancakes were freshly prepared on the spot. In addition, there is a wide variety of fruits, yogurts, mueslis, breakfast cereals, bread, pastries etc to choose from. Definitely a worthy add-on to take up for your hotel stay! As for the room, I have nothing but compliments. More importantly, it had English movie channels so we were really glad as those 2 nights rained pretty heavily and we decided to stay in. The room was highly spacious and the bed was so soft and fluffy that leaving it every morning was such a difficult thing to do. The room was clean and we are very satisfied with the amenities. Location wise, it is situated opposite the Platinum Fashion Mall; definitely a must-go as well if you are a shopping fanatic like me! AWH is also located near Pratunam Market, Big C Supercenter and Central World, just to name a few. If you would like to travel to other places, just inform the service staff at the entrance and he/she will hail a taxi up for you. Do remember to hop on the taxi only if the driver agrees to use the meter! All in all, the stay at AWH was nothing short of awesome! A 5/5 for every aspect except 'Value for Money' as we feel that the breakfast could be still improved by adding some local fare. Well done Amari!

Starting To Look A Little Outdated”

Only stayed for two nights whilst on business in Bangkok. My wife has always wanted to stay at the Amari Watergate so our stay was her Christmas surprise. The Amari Watergate is a very nice hotel but it is starting to show it's age and really not 5 Star anymore. It definitely needs a bit of updating. Some new paint, carpet and bathroom updating would not go astray. Checking in was easy but a little confusing as nobody showed us to our room or explained the process of having our bags taken to our room. Consequently I had to go searching for them. This could have been better but not a major issue. Food was good and reasonably priced for a large hotel, pool area was nice, plenty of television options, staff friendly and helpful and the bed comfortable. The only real criticism I have is I think the hotel should look into its two person per room policy as I think it maybe being abused. Our floor seemed to have way to many people for the amount of rooms which made it quite noisy. Walking through the corridors you could continually hear multiple people talking loudly in either Pakistani or Indian language, not sure which, at all times of the day and night. A few cooking smells as well with rubbish left outside the rooms in the corridor which should have been collected quicker. Regardless, still enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

Best Hotel in Pratunam”

The Amari Watergate Hotel is the best hotel in the Pratunam area. It is conveniently located near big shopping malls, Pantip IT center and the wholesale market of Pratunam. The staff of the hotel are very friendly and accommodating. Their selection and variety for breakfast is top notch. I particularly like their warm flaky croissants and fresh brewed coffee. They also have a nice pool, gym facilities and sauna to relax after along day. The Amari Watergate is not very close to the sky train station of BTS however, cabs are easily made available to the guest by their friendly front door staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any visitor to Bangkok!

Everything's just great”

This is my second visit to bangkok and i must say i am all impressed with everything of Amari Watergate Hotel. We were all greeted with smiles once we arrived at the hotel. Every morning the staff would smile and ask us where are we heading to today and they would gladly get a cab for us. It feels really safe to stay in this hotel and the service is superb. We stayed at the grand deluxe king room located at the higher floors which were newly renovated. The new rooms were really clean and new and the amenities were all designed perfectly. I really enjoyed my stay at amari watergate hotel and would definitely visit this hotel again on my next vacation to bangkok! Kudos to the management team and all the staff there.

Wonderful experience and really good rest!”

The staff at the Amari Watergate was exceptional. They were all friendly, well groomed, warm and had a lot of initiative. When we arrived and checked in, the staff remembered that my husband as stayed there in early September and she immediately upgraded our room. It was a really pleasant surprise. Our room was beautiful and very nice as it had just been renovated and refurbished. It was a good size and had all the amenities that were needed. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. Sometimes, it takes us a while to get used to new beds but this trip we both slept really well. It was such a nice feeling to wake up refreshed and ready to enjoy the day after a good sleep. Although our bathroom had some issues, the staff worked on resolving it asap. Our shower area was flooded because the water outlet was cemented down and the water could flow away. Immediately they rectified the matter. Overall, we are really happy and extremely satisfied with our stay at Amari Watergate. It is also very conveniently located opposite Platinum Mall and walking distance from many other places. As the traffic in Bangkok can be quite bad it saved us a lot of time being able to walk to where we want to go. Thank you to the staff of Amari Watergate for great exceptional service!

Best Hotel in Pratunam”

Amari Watergate Hotel is the best hotel in the Pratunam area of Bangkok. The hotel has everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Rooms are big, beds are comfortable with large LCD TVs. They also have a nice pool which include shallow areas ideal for children. Their gym, squash courts and sauna facilities are very well kept. The food outlets are extensive with several restaurants in the hotel offering Thai, Chinese, Italian and Continental cuisine. The hotel staff are always very friendly and helpful. I look forward to staying in this hotel again in my next trip to Bangkok.

Cetral but hard to get to”

We chose the Amari Watergate Hotel because of it's location. It is near the Central World Plaza shopping mall and within easy walking distance to Siam Square and other large shopping centers, as well as the Skytrain. This is, however not a quiet neighborhood for pleasant strolling around. Our room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was very attractive and modern. We were on a high floor and had no traffic noises from the streets below. The staff was always very attentive and helpful. The pool and poolside services were good. The hotel's location is both an attraction and a drawback. In spite of its central location, access to the hotel can be difficult. Bangkok is famous for its traffic jams and the street in front of the hotel is always busy and often the traffic hardly moves. Getting to the hotel by taxi can be reasonably rapid or frustratingly slow. Walking along the street in either direction from the hotel entrance can be tiring. The sidewalk is occupied by shop displays and street vendors and can be very crowded. Tourists are not hassled, but must walk in single file.

excellent location, amazing service staff”

I really enjoyed my time at Amari Watergate hotel, though its my first time staying there. i applaud the service staff for their excellent and patient service; always ready to help provide directions as well as assist us on any queries that my friends and I had. the locality of the place provided was extremely convenient (near platinum mall, pratunum bazar just behind, central world and even the four face buddha, if you are there for pilgrimage) the rooms were spacious and clean and there was always room service staffs around the various floors to offer assistance if we needed. i would also like to recommend the tailors at the hotel, convenient location, reasonable prices as well as good tailoring comparable or better than some of the other tailors i've tried in bkk. i will ALWAYS definitely make Amari Watergate the choice of my hotel again!

Luxury hotel, good price, good location”

Totally blown-over by Amari Watergate. Well greeted by attendants when they rushed to help me with my luggage as I approach the hotel entrance. The desk counter is also very professional. The lobby is beautifully furnished and decorated. The deluxe room is big, has a comfy bed, a couch and a super big TV (which is rotabled to face the couch or bed). The view is wonderful and unblocked at the 11th floor (wonder how it looks like at the 30+th executive floors). The bathroom has 2 basins, couples can washup at the same time. The breakfast spread is so huge and of quality, I think I need at least 3 mornings to complete a round (maybe I'm not a big-eater). The breakfast area is big and spacious. Service is good as well. The hotel is just next to Pratunam wholesale market, opposite Platinium mall. Probably the only bad thing is the nearest train station will be a good 15-mins walk away. But cabs are all around. Recommended at all times. Got to stay in Amari Watergate in my next BKK visit.

Standards Dropping”

Have always stayed here during all my regular trips to bangkok, as it was the best place that I have come to love. Suddenly during this recent trip, housekeeping standards have suddenly taken a nose dive and overall policy and listing/details of rooms are deceiving. Housekeeping: 4 days out of my 5 nights there, they forgot to replace used amenities: like bottled water, towels, shower caps and on the last night took away our bathrobes and did not replace them. A call to the ask for replacement was met with "are you sure and why wasn't they replaced?" :-smart or insulting questions? Check out and seems that one can of beer was mentioned by housekeeping to be missing. Told front desk I don't drink alcohol and even if I did, I would buy it from 7-11 just next door. Didn't pay for it after writing a denial note. New Policy: all Agoda bookings are not entitled to the Welcome Fruit basket as informed by front desk manager as new policy. False advert: stated that a Grand Deluxe Room would be better furnished than a Deluxe Room: NOT TRUE. Said TV would be a Sony Bravia model but was just a regular Phillips with really bad reception. Rest of room same like Deluxe Room. I booked 2 rooms and type, so can definitely say that there was NO Difference at all, except hype, name and higher price. Always go for the the lowest priced rooms, all same same... Apart from these issues which the management have to seriously review and resolve, Amari Watergate is still a nice hotel..

Very central - with its pros and cons”

This hotel is one of my favourites in Bangkok: it is extremely central so shopping is always close by and it is suitable for business and social meetings. The majestic lobby is always a welcome sight, and the free Internet access is a definite plus. On the other hand, it is difficult to go anywhere else both by taxi and skytrain. It is especially difficult to come back to the hotel during peak hours; it is easy to spend more than 1 hour stuck in traffic. The Sy Train is not nearby, which is not a problem if you are used to walking but may prove a disadvantage for some. The breakfast has traditionally been a staple of staying at the Amari Watergate, and this time too it did not disappoint. The overall quality of the food is good, but not exceptional, which probably is a reflection of the recent tourism difficulties in Bangkok. I tried the Thai restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. Service is always excellent and personnel takes pride in being helpful and cheerful. The premises are starting to show a hint of age. The room decor is still good, but some wear and tear is noticeable. I believe that the time is ripe for minor renovations. Guests in the hotel come from every part of the world, which can be a great experience but sometimes results in misunderstandings. I experienced some noise at 2am (guests slamming their hotel doors) and was forced to use earplugs to sleep. Overall, a great stay for the price. I will choose this hotel again.

Very recommendable”

The hotel was recommended to us by our friends from Israel who stayed at the Armani Watergate a year ago. We were 4 couples and spent 2 nights at the hotel. Regular check-out time is noon, but if you ask for 2-3 hours more, they don't make any problems. For a small extra charge we kept one of the rooms until 8 p.m. as our flight left at midnight. There is a very nice pool area on the 8th floor whith a great yet expensive SPA. Alhtough in the midst of a very noisy city you will find some rest and relaxation. The rooms are beautifully designed, the king size beds very comfortable. There are 2 bottles with mineral water in the bathroom as a courtesy of the hotel, so guests can brush their teeth - tap water is no drinking water in Bangkok!!! But be aware - the small bottle next to your bedside is being charged with 175 Baht incl. taxes! The service was excellent, personnell very friendly. The buffet breakfast was overwhelmlingly rich and the coffee excellent. We definately will stay at the Amari Watergate again, next time we will be in Bangkok.

Great Facilities and great location”

I had to travel on business, several times this year and had to transit one night every time in Bangkok, due to unavailability of direct flight connection. I have tried to look for a hotel each time that I really felt comfortable and save and near shopping areas and restaurants. I have tried three hotels before Amari Watergate, each time I lokked for another hotel when I had to transit. But only to Amari Watergate I want to return on my next trip. The atmosphere there is very welcoming and I felt very safe staying there alone. I had also a good time shopping for my family, since everything is nearby and in walking distance. The food at the Hotel is excellent, unlike in some other Hotels were the food always taste the same. The staff are very friendly/ Also taxi to airport is always available 24 hours an I was not asked to rent a hotel limousine which would cost me maybe two times the cost of an ordinary taxi. I really would like to stay there again on my next business trip

Fantastic hotel with a great location ”

Chose Amari Watergate Hotel for its great location. The popular Platinum Fashion Mall is just across the road. The other popular spots such as central world is also a short walk away. It is also pretty convenient to get around the other places in Bangkok as the nearest BTS station is just a short taxi ride away costing no more than 70 baht. As a 5 star hotel, Amari Watergate certainly did not dissapoint with is quality rooms and excellent service staff. In fact, I was given an upgrade by the hotel when i checked in. I would definitely recommend this hotel those that are looking for a great experience.

World Class Service”

Amari Watergate is indeed Home away from Home. From the luxurious executive level rooms to the all smiley staffs. Our stay at Amari was indeed a memorable and pleasurable one. Just within walkable distances to major shopping malls in the heart of Bangkok, you can always rest your mind and soul after a tired walk out there. Friendly and bubbly service staffs at the executive level who could not have been better to make our day a wonderful one. Spacious room with marvelous facilities, what can we ask for more. A very great Thank You to the General Manager, Mr. Pierre, for the surprises and kind gestures, you have presented us with. You guys really set a very high standard for my future hotel stays. this is our first stay at amari watergate hotel. actually in all our previous stay we were staying also in 5 stars hotel but we must emphasis that the difference between these two hotels is so clear and obvious. Amari Watergate hotel gives you excellent opportunity for a deluxe vacation. it is very close to the Pratunam market, so you may shop and also close enough to Siam centre. Facilities of the hotel are excellent. staff is very friendly and welcome and breakfast is delishes. If this is the traditional Thai welcome WE LOVE YOU THAILAND

very nice hotel”

We stayed at the Amari Watergate Bangkok for a day and a half ( extended half wonderful day ) and really wanted to thank the wonderful staff served us faithfully . In particular the reception staff on check-in 2 nice ladies on 18/12/2013 afternoon. And check out the very sweet Lydia . Thanks for everything . The wonderful room , clean and great service . Thank you for the surprise in the room. You're wonderful . I'm sure we 'll come back next time in town and of course I recommend this wonderful hotel to all my friends . One detail which is very important to me to bring to the attention of the hotel manager and manager of Cascade Lobby restaurant: I ordered The famous Creame cheese bagel wiche is well known to the tourists in the whole world and what I got is not worthy to serv to anyone especially a foreign tourist ! Does not respect you. The bagel was thin, dry and minimalist . No cheese barely notice it ( completely transparent ) and certainly not excessively priced for what was served ( 505 baht ) . I think in particular the dishes well known The chef must learn the ingredients and the way they should be served . Very disappointed . Thanks to Lydia from the reception who tried hard to fix the felt . Everything else in the hotel was wonderful. Thanks again to all of you
