Very nice stay on the island not so far from everything but pleasant and quiet, it needs a fridge in the room to be perfect and service is so so, they speak very poor english .

Quiet retreat on island”

We loved our one, quiet, relaxing night on the island. When you get off the ferry boat, there will be motorbike drivers who can take you and your luggage to Arun for $1-2. You can rent a bicycle to explore the island. Food cooked at the guesthouse was decent too.

I recommand this hotel. Every thing was wonderful. A little island no where in the middle of the Mekong. So peacful ! The Amok was amazing.

Arun Mekong Guesthouse is settled on Koh Trong Island, a pleasant island in the Mekong River. It's a farmers island with a very tranquil atmosphere. if you like rural life this is the place to be. We stayed in one of the two bungalows of Arun Mekong Guesthouse. The bungalows are built on stilts. The beds were good but the room was not clean. As we were there during low season they hardly had any food or drinks the first day after arrival. The second day was better but still limited. The worst was that the staff was uninterested, they showed more interest in their mobile phone instead of us. Electricity was very limited too, during the day there was no electricity, they only ran the generator between 6 PM and 11 PM. The rooms in the bungalow have windows without glass, only shutters. As the wire gauze was made in the shutters and there were a lot of mosquitos we had to close the shutters during daytime and find our way with a torch. But the location is great! You sleep with all the sounds of crickets, geckos and other nocturnal animals in the surrounding forest and (early) in the morning you wake up with the beats and songs from the nearby Buddist temple. Whe hired bikes nextdoor (Arun's had flat tire) and enjoyed a trip around the island.

Loved staying there and would return again. We had a lot of fun biking around the island on the bikes provided by the guesthouse. What a super spot.

Enjoy your time and simple life”

We are a family travelling with a 7 year old child and planned to stay for 2 nights. Although the bungalow was booked months earlier, it was not available because some customers have extended their stay for an extra night: so the night we were split in 2 rooms. Anyway the staff was so kind, and the cook so good that this matter was quickly forgiven. The food is a bit more expensive but as you are on an island with circulating ox-wagons, bicycles and scooters: it's fair. This island is an ideal place for people seeking the real simple life, and friendly contact with the locals. Two days spent there was too short for us and we'll be back during our next trip to Cambodia. Definitely a lovely place.

The owner is nice and efficinet but not very clear with the prices ! We booked 2 nights with agoda at a certain price and we asked to stay one more night but he asked us a non negoctaiting price for this night at the end. He should have told us before . same for the bike renting , we understood it was part from the gusthouse and finally we add too pay 2 dollars per kike whenb its one dollar normally. Just be very clear with the questions you ask ?

Somehow very ambivalent feelings but what is sure is the fact that it can be done much, much more to provide a good service. Room: Ok and everything fine. Staff: some aspects were fine, but activity=0. Food: Somehow not bad but not even excellent. Go down with the price or raise service quality.

Lovely grounds, help full staff”

Nice clean bungalow, great view. So staff speak English and the rest try, there is no pool but the one next door slows you to swim for a small fee. For the money it is great, but we did not get ac so a little hot at night.

You'll love its atmosphere”

Its a really nicely done wooden house on legs. Friendly staff and nice food. Worth to try out, but keep in mind that its a remote place with no wifi, limited electricity and the last boat from the town is at sunset.

Awesome rural lifestyle to experience - rustic”

It was an interesting stay where the lodge manager, the only guy who can speak English had gone off into town and did not return till next day. I am a Canadian, female traveller who cannot communicate with the lodge staff at hand in their native tongue and lack of communication made it a tough time. I had to go to the Lodge next door to arrange for dolphin watching and getting a bus ticket etc....My suggestion to the lodge management is to always have on hand someone who can speak even a little bit of English to make one feel at home.

Spacieux bungalow correctement entretenu. Location de vélos et motos (un peu cher). Bon restaurant. Bon wifi uniquement au restaurant. Moto taxi pour transfert au bac facile et rapide. Rien à faire autour de l'hôtel.

Difficile d'acces (bateau puis scooter) le charme de cet hotel perdu ne m'a pas beaucoup plus. Chambre jolie mais cachant de multiple insectes.... pas de TV, d'eau chaude de wifi, de clim .... Peut plaire a certaines personne mais hélas pas a nous. Repas au resto de l’hôtel correct malgré la cuisine très ....particulière. Je n'y reviendrai pas
