Great staff”

Staffs are very pleasant, accommodating and friendly. Location is very near robinson's manila which is very nice. Many restaurants near the place as well. Room is clean, but the only thing is that it is too noisy at night time since you can hear all the loud noises of cars and voices from the streets and nearby bars. Prices went up as well with in the hear i have been going back to the hotel, and it seemed like they have removed some items, complimentary waters, and toiletries such as toothbrush and soap despite having price increase for their rooms ( applicable to standard room only ). But regardless of it, i still love staying in this hotel since its very accessible for me and to retaliate that the staffs are just amazing. From bellman, to front office to housekeeping and security. Definitely will still recommend this hotel! 😊

Centally located”

Me and my friend of girl read lots of rumors about bad taxi drivers at the airport and we wanted to make sure we choose the hotel in center of town. Malate got lots of restaurants, shops and bars and we wanted to stay around the area and we found this budget hotel and our request of having twin room was granted and the room was just fine. We had gone of places to eat and we did not fell any danger when we arrived at the hotel around 21:00 and went out to eat. Bell boys were always quick to assist us and willing to help all the time. The cafe on 1st floor smelled good whenever we passed by though we did not get to try this time. We will definitely come back to the hostel 1632 next time too!

Had everything I needed for a very affordable rate”

the hotel was great! staff were very nice and friendly, always served you promptly with a smile. very accessible to public transportation and is situated in a not so noisy part of malate. within walking distance from robinson's place and convenient stores. you are given the option on whether or not you would like your room cleaned daily. minibar was quite expensive though but if you're not up for walking to the nearest 7/11 then you can just partake of what's inside the fridge. room was quite small but very cozy. i would definitely stay in this hotel again. keep up the good work, 1632!

Clean and quiet room we feel rested,”

Well, it was not me who booked the hotel. It was my mother and an older brother who came to Manila on a business trip. I am currently abroad. It so happened agoda.com will not allow her to create another account in her name, although she owns the email address. So she asked me to give this review on her behalf. My mom is quite happy with what the hostel has to offer. Compared to the previous one they patronized. I think she will keep coming back on Hostel 1632 whenever she has business transactions in Manila.

Good location”

It was our last night in the Philippines and our flight back home was 7:00 in the morning and we wanted to make sure we booked the place well accessible to the airport. We decided tocome back to hostel1632 where we stayed in our 1st night in the Philippines. We liked the location and they provided us a twin room assets requested. Restaurants were everywhere near the hotel the we had to take time to choose one. We also wanted to go shopping for souvenirs and Robinson market was 1 block way and we bought lots of nice things and walked back tot he hotel easily with lots of bags, no need for taking cab. We had no problem catching a cab in 4:30 in the morning since our bell boys arranged for us quickly. Make sure you ask drivers go use meters everytime. They are nice in the end and they will listening you. Do not be afraid. Enjoy Manila!

heart of malate”

I have stayed here at 5 times now i think over the last year. Why do i return? Well, 1 min walk to robinsons mall, 5 min walk max to anything in malate. the staff were very friendly towards me, and after my first check in, would greet me by name. If you have a "guest" they dont charge extra, but have the security that they take their id's until they leave. I mainly stayed there this trip as I was meeting a few people and going out in Malate/Ermita alot, and needed a room that would sleep at least 3. They have rooms like this, 1 dbl bed, 1 single. Approx room rate was 1900 peso at hotel, or $46 AU through agoda.

My second stay at hostel 1632”

I have stayed twice in Hostel 1632. Each time for 4 nights. I will stay there every time i return to manila, which is about once every 3 months. The rooms are clean, cool and comfortable. They are small but not too small. the only thing i don't like is the very expensive wi fi. Now, i will tell you, the moment you walk outside, you will encounter peddlers who will come up to you to sell you fake rolex, etc. this is common in manila and will happen almost anywhere you stay. they are not dangerous, just say no thank you, i bought one yesterday, or whatever and they will leave you alone. also, as is common in manila, there are beggers, some quite young. i give a couple pesos to them but you can say no if you want, they will be persistent, but again, not dangerous and again, this will happen almost anywhere in manila as it does in most mega-cities.

Maximum value and great location”

I have stayed in this hotel many times. It's cheap, clean with central location. The name "Hostel" is misleading as it is a hotel. To all couples and solo travellers I shall recommend this hotel if you want to spend just a night. If you think about economy, there is absolute no need to upgrade to a more expensive hotel. For people travelling with children, the rooms may be small. In any case, beds are comfortable and it takes just 180 - 200 pesos by a taxi to reach here from Manila airport, Terminal 2.

Convenient, courteous, cheap”

Always a good idea if you're looking for a budget hotel near the zoo, port or if you need to be in Malate. We booked this for early morning access to the port, but also wanted to be near the restaurants and coffee shops by Robinson's mall. At under $30, it was ideal. Small rooms, but the staff is very good.

Maximum value”

it was my first time in manila, and i had a very pleasant experience with this hotel. comes from the land of volvo and sony ericsson. if every swedish employee put in the same effort as all employee´s at this hotel, the swedish national economy would be in different position. chose this hotel for start, don´t think you have to upgrade to a more expensive, absolute value for your money.

Good location but no free wifi.”

i have stayed there (standard room)for 2 nights after compared to other hotels nearby due to lower price by agoda.com. walk in price was but i got it at from agoda. i didn't book for second night online but hotel refused to accept as per website, so i need to log in using my smartphone to purchase. the hotel will give 30 mins free wifi. thereafter guest need to purchase the wifi card at per hour. during my 2 days stay, the free wifi card was out of stocks, so i did not get to any free wifi there. at that time only 4 hours wifi cards are available, so i end up went to pearl garden hotel at next block to access free internet using my smartphone everynight, by standing at the hotel entrance. that was very inconvenience! the aircon very noisy so i called the receptionist to assist; a technician came up and replaced the aircon (detachable) with lesser noise. the room is clean and within walking distance to robinson mall and pedro lrt.

A Hotel in the Heart of Manila”

the price offer i got was a great deal perhaps. the room is a little small but enough for small group of travelers. the hotel is accessible to a lot of places. there is no problem with regards to transportation because being in the heart of manila, you can get the most out of your stay if you only know how to maximize it. on the other hand, the stay is also my credit to the people behind agoda for putting up a great booking site which really helps travellers in looking for hotels of their choice. good work! keep it up!

Find it you will like it”

I have stayed at the Hostel 1632 many times, and I have found it the best hotel for the money anywhere in the Manila area. It is about a 30min Taxi from the Airport, and will cost about 1,000 Peso from the Airport, and about 500 Peso to the airport. There are many things to do and see in the area Hostel 1632 is located.

Great location”

Good location near entertainment Robinsons mall,Manila Bay etc.Rooms are clean but small facilities are ok for price with a selection of free daily papers.At that particular night there was a horendous karoke going all night behind the hotel which made sleeping in the back rooms difficult.This is something the hotel should look into

Very Good Service but the rooms were quite small”

The only fault I found was because I booked through an agent I did not receive a Free Breakfast When ever I go to Manila I usually stay at this Hotel as it is value for money and convenient location It is only a short walk from Robinsons Mall and local attractions.

Great Value Hostel”

This is a great hostel, right in the heart of Manila. Newly built and clean. It is easy to spot, it's right across Rothmann's Inn and Pan Pacific, and beside the Chinese Temple. It has its own excellent Italian and Japanese restaurants. It's also very close to many great restaurants in Manila. Walking distance to Robinsons Place mall, and Roxas Boulevard.

Hostel 1632 Manila”

This hotel is unusual in that it offers smaller rooms than a typical hotel. The rooms are layed out longitudinally from the door, with the beds aligned head to toe. Although small in nature, it does provide adequate living room for average sized people. The hotel was built couple of years ago so everything seems quite new. The bathroom is kind of small, reminding me of those in train sleeper cars...you would actually need to go outside to think.

Great location”

my stay was amazing, they have great service and have friendly staffs. i will recommend people to stay there. this hotel is in a great location, opposite robinsons shopping. it has great staff, polite and corteous. located next to night clubs and 2 blocks from hyatt casino. really can;t fault this hotel except that they have no free wi-fi in the room or foyer and their internet charges are a bit steep. however walk to the fron of the hotel and your bound to get free wi-fi connection or walk into greenbelt shops and you get free wi-fi i mangaed to get free connection. however they should have free wi-fi in the foyer at least. would stay there again if returning to manila.

Cozy Room and Great Location”

room is clean including the beddings & towels (not worn-out); hotel is very accessible to all (malls, banks, resto, hospital) affordable price. only, wifi access is very expensive. it should be free wifi access to hotel guests.

Extra parking fee”

Hotel is very near to the mall and nearby restaurants in the Malate Area. The room is relatively small but well maintained and space is optimized. The comfort room is very small but I've seen smaller ones in HK. Parking fee of PhP150 is charged on top of the room booking. This was not advised at the Agoda site. No choice but to pay for it since the room is already paid. There was also no complimentary water in the room. Wifi is ok but quite slow.
