"Somebody suggested me the Heritage Silom hotel because it just opened recently and I'm really glad I listened. The hotel is pretty new, hence the room, restroom, and hotel in general was in an amazing condition. Very clean, very new, concept. The bed mattress was a little hard, but meh, it's a 3 stars hotel. Aside from that, rooms have free high-speed wifi which is always a nice feature. Food wise, the food was excellent, and surprisingly cheap for a hotel. Most hotels will charge you a lot more, knowing that people get tired and don't want to leave the hotel. Not the Heritage. The prices were almost the same as in the street, and the quality of the food is just excellent. On top of that, the free breakfast, served as a buffet, was also fairly amazing. They vary the food a bit from day to day, so you don't get bored eating the same thing, and they always keep it warm and fresh. Location wise, I really enjoy Silom. It's not for everyone, as it might be a little dirty at times, but the shopping centers, night bazaars, and ridiculously cheap restaurants in the area make it so magic to me. There's something about walking in Silom at 2 am looking for food and cheap designer clothes that I find simply amazing. You can also find grocery stores and ATMs everywhere, and if you're looking for a bar, there are probably more than you can handle. Money wise, I was really surprised. The room was cheap, the food was priced honestly, and the hotel bar's got happy hours at 50% off hehe. The only expansive thing was the wine, which was charged at a ridiculous price, but it's like that in most of Thailand as it's not a big wine drinking country. Finally, I booked a deluxe room for a week, and I wanted to stay another week at the end. I booked several hotels throughout Thailand and let me tell you, this hotel deserves an extra star. Some people will bitch about the low IKEA-ish quality of the interior, but hey, at least it's clean! Don't listen to them, just book a room and enjoy "

"Stayed here for 4 nights in December. The hotel is located at the start of the silom rd. The hotel has recently been refurbished so the rooms have modern fixtures and are extremely spacious and comfortable. The was upgraded to a deluxe room by one of the very friendly check in staff. The rooms have a balcony that overlook the hustle and bustle of silom rd, it is perfect if you are a smoker and don't like to smoke indoors like me. The hotel has an amazing breakfast one of the best that I have seen in Thailand and I have stayed in close to 20 hotels in BKK alone. The hotel also has a beautiful roof top pool with sweeping views of the city. I had noticed some people complaining that the hotel is near a cemetery. I don't see why this would bother any one, I found the cemetery quite beautiful and would always adire the view while waiting for the lift. I think the only thing i did not like about this hotel was that the wifi was not complimentary. I find that most hotels on silom rd charge for wifi. It is 500 baht per day and can be used in the room which is great. I have stayed at two other hotels on silom rd that charge for wifi that you can only use in the loby. over all a lovely stay. It is in walking distance to a BTS station Chit Long from memory and is about a 10 minute walk to the night market and red light district. There is a taxi mafia guy outside the hotel that try's to inflate taxi and tuk tuk fairs so if you need a taxi make sure you ask the security or bell boy to wave one down for you and they will turn their meter off for you. My blood would boil every time that old man would try and get my attention. enjoy your stay!"

" This hotel is perfect if you want to be the center of things I residence hotel in Silom is conveniently located around amenities and also great for food and walking around. Moving around from this hotel is very convenient it’s about 3.5 minute walk to the nearest BTS Station Chong Nong si BTS Stn. Indeed it’s not a five star property but it makes up for the cleanliness of the rooms the Friendly staff and their efficiency I specially like having breakfast on the roof top when you get a decent view of the city. I would highly recommend staying here and I will definitely stay there again myself "

"I travel for business almost 3-4 times in a month and usually stay at this hotel. I've tried almost all good hotels in Silom area and consider Novotel Fenix as one of the best in the same budget range. The hotel is mid size as compared to it's peers, located at one of the best locations and has range of all required facilities. What sets it apart for me is: 1. Attentive, happy and helpful staff. 2. Quiet and peaceful from the time I check in, till check out. 3. Renovated rooms, with multi-plug settings, and a good shower. Also comfortable bed that doesnt smell of cigarette, non-smelly floor/room. Good views. 4. Unlike other hotels in the vicinity that are full of bus loaded travellers, since the hotel size is not huge, it fits into my requirement of simplicity, coziness and not people running around. Cons: never had any bad experience so far."

"This hotel really exceeded my expectations. The staff were helpful and friendly and able to answer any questions I had about the area, shopping, transport and my onward travel plans. When they could not help, they were able to find someone who knew the answer. The free tuk-tuk service is also a great help. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the Silom shopping and nightlife area which is perfect as being too close is just to noisy as I have experienced in other Silom hotels. You can be there in minutes but it is nice to feel a bit seperate and you certainly feel that way in this hotel with its large, well appointed rooms as well as the relaxing pool and lounge. Whatever time of day or night you come back to the hotel the staff always have a friendly greeting and I did not feel like I was being hassled for tips. All in all a great place to stay in Bangkok to enjoy the sightseeing and shopping during the day as well as the nightlife of Silom on your doorstep. I would definately reccomend this place."

"we usually pick 3-4 stars when we travel, but holiday inn silom was on a great deal at agoda so we couldn't resist and dont repent it a single minute the hotel is huge with nice bog rooms and clean toilets. the breakfast was nice and it had options for the vegetarians too the only issue was the 30 minute travel to any nightsopt or shopping place. silom is central if you have to travel to prathunam and sukumvit, but otherwise it gets a little far off if you intend to shop till you drop, then prathunam is the area, but if its a holiday and you dont mind taking those cabs once in a way then holiday inn is a good choice"

"This is a new hotel in the Silom area and is well worth its 5 star rating. Other reviewers have commented on the staff (professional & friendly), and this is certainly the case. The location is great as it provides a nice balance between the night-life of Silom, but the quietness to escape the crowds when needed. Plenty of dining choices around and the selection of 2 BTS stations about an 8 minute walk to either. The sky bar and pool is a great place to dust off the days events and survey the Bangkok night sky-line. Great staff and amenities and great choice for a stay in Bangkok, look forward to a return visit so. "

"highly recommend this value oriented hotel for the location, pool access, and attached excellent thai restaurant. the rooms are small and outdated, but the service was good, and the location very convenient in silom. i especially enjoyed the pool- better the pool of most other hotels in silom, even the 4-5 star hotels. i did not like the fact that the a/c would not run in my room once i took the key. everytime i returned, the room was hot and took some time to cool down. this was bearable though."

More about Silom

Silom and Sathorn roads are the boundaries of the fastest-growing business district in Bangkok. This successful financial hub boasts gleaming skyscrapers housing bank headquarters, embassies and corporate offices. Hotels in Silom and Sathorn are among the best in Bangkok.

The area is nicknamed the ‘Wall Street of Bangkok’, a fitting enough title considering the fast success of local financial institutions. While the daytime emphasis is on business and finance, the after-hours scene takes an unexpected turn. Patpong is Bangkok’s best-known after-hours district, with go-go bars and a neon night market that brings tourists of all ages and nationalities out in droves.

Hotels in Silom and Sathorn are popular with business travelers, and many have excellent conference facilities. They also feature chic lounges and restaurants where business deals are worked out on a nightly basis. Two of Bangkok's three open-air bars are in the Silom/Sathorn areas – Moon Bar, on the 61th floor of the Banyan Tree and Sky Bar on the 63rd Floor of State Tower – both venues with prices to match their altitudes. Whether enjoying a full-course dinner or stopping by for drinks, the views alone are worth the price.

While the best shopping districts are to the north in the Sukhumvit and Siam districts, there are a few smaller shopping malls in Silom and Sathorn. Central Rama III, close to the Chao Phraya River and the arterial Narathiwas Road, is the biggest in the area. There are also a few shops to the north around Wireless Road and Ploenchit.

Getting to and from Silom and Sathorn couldn’t be easier thanks to the skytrain (BTS) and metro (MRT). The skytrain’s Silom Line (Sala Daeng BTS) has an exchange with the metro (at Silom MRT), making it possible to connect to most districts in Bangkok.
