Great value and discrete, but a pleasant surprise. ”

I had a great time with my stay here at Sarnn Sukhumvit 28. This is and will be my go to place to stay whenever I visit or have business in Bangkok, again. It's very discrete and a pleasant surprise. The room was more than enough and exactly what I needed, very clean and organized without over the top amenities or the need to market unnecessary products. Recommended for all types of occasions!

          Excellent”

          Location, value, staff

The MHC had all the essentials for me: awesome location, great staff, clean rooms, free wifi, and excellent value. The MHC is tucked away on soi 28, just a short distance from Sukhumvit, which is a main road. Even though the MHC is close to a major artery, traffic noise wasn't an issue. The Phrom Phong BTS Skytrain station is less than a 5 minute walk away. Just 2 stops from Phrom Phrom station is the Ekamai station, where you can catch buses heading to Pattaya and Koh Samet and Trat and Koh Chang. Only a block and half away is a great little restaurant with cheap but very good Thai food. Many other dining options are close by and easily reached on foot. If you want to see a movie in English, get some good food and shop till you're broke, The Emporium mall is less than a 10 minute walk away. Max, the owner of the MCH, is an English speaking expat, and can be relied on for all manner of information about Bangkok life. Max has a small staff of wonderful and knowledgeable local people who speak very good English, and can also provide much information about getting around the city. Rooms are clean, spacious, and serviced daily. TV, AC, a mini fridge and safe are in each room. Wifi works in the rooms. Bathrooms are not wet room style, which is nice. There is a small bar area if you want to sit and have a cold Thai beer or a foreign import. In short, I highly recommend MHC Guesthouse. If I had three thumbs, I'd give this place three thumbs up.

The most comfy bed in South East Asia.”

Comfy bed, clean room, fantastic staff and manager.

This guesthouse is something special. Its old but very well maintained ans very clean. The bed in my room is so far the most comfortable I have slept in my Asia trip so far. I have a bad back and still slept like a child without any pain when I woke up! The cabinet was also large enough for even longer stay. The owner and staff is also very welcoming, attentive and helpful. They help you with any information and sightseeing. I even got a instruction on email for the taxi driver to drive me the cheapest way from the airport to the guesthouse. Sukhumvit street is a busy main street. But Soi 28 is a very quiet and safe street with some old buildings and some new, and a brand new high end high rise office/condo as the nearest neighbor across the street. Its also close to many nice restaurants and the nearest Sky Train station is only about 5-10 minutes slow walk away. I will certainly stay here when I return to Bangkok. You simply don't get a better bed, management or staff even in a 5 star hotel!

          Conveniently located

i stayed at the mhc-guesthouse for 14days. it was a very pleasant relaxing time. this was my first time to visit to bangkok and the owner and his staff helped me with all my travel and sight seeing request. they made me feel vary at home. my room was nicely furnished and i was given a larger room for part of my stay. there are 3 wi-fi systems all free. coffee and tea are also free. how can anyone say this is a bad hotel. i could not find another guesthouse on sukhumvit that offered the same service for the low price of the mhc. the mhc is conveniently located, the skytrain, park and shopping mall are all only 5 minutes away. choose this place and you will like it.

like a breath of fresh air”

mhc is different you are treated like an individual. no problem to large.

i first stayed at the mhc a few months ago. . it’s nice to see all these friendly faces again. i was immediately recognized by all the staff. the mhc has made strife in being a unique guest house, thanks to the long hours captain rathan spends making his place the best g/h in bkk. it’s like a breath of fresh air staying here. the construction opposite is now completed and the tranquility has returned. the services offered are way beyond renting a room. the price you pay is indeed great value. miss ka and max spend so much time helping the guest with all their transport and sightseeing requirements. not always appreciated. i heard no abuses to staff and they all praised the kindness of the managers. i stayed here the same time as mr.smith whose review appears below. he booked a single room for 2 nights and on each night tried to smuggle a working girl into his room. both times captain rathan pointed out a single room is for one person only. he extended his stay an extra 2 days,if he disliked the manager so much why did he stay on? no single room was available, so max gave him a larger double room at no extra cost. he seems to have missed that. he complained about the price of everything . he requested some printing. captain rathan stopped his work, and used his computer to print mr. smith’s 5 colored letters. mr. smith took the printing and offered no payment. i was there and saw it all. adam smith accepted the manager’s hospitality, went away and wrote his review. what a nice man. i think his remarks of the hotel and its owner is grossly unfair. i strongly recommend the mhc.

Great location and price on Sukhumvit”

          Price, friendly service & location

Arrived very early at this hotel and the hotel owner Max was very accommodating and allowed us to freshen up and leave our backpacks whilst getting us a room a lot earlier than the earliest check-in. The superior room (on a free upgrade) was very spacious, had a nice clean mattress and good sized bathroom. Probably the best accommodation you are going to find at this value in the area of Sukhumvit! The location of this hotel is extremely handy for the location of the BTS line on Sukhumvit Road where you can get out at one of 2 stops and have a 5-10 minute walk to the hotel. Construction works were talking place directly across the road but this never affected us at all

good price, interesting rooms, clean, friendly staff

I must apologize about my previous review of this hotel because I simply listed only the negatives about it but none of the positives which there were many. The hotel is themed and the rooms are quite interesting each having a particular plane model and whatnot. The staff greets you every morning and are able to advise you on where to go in Bangkok. There is free coffee and tea whenever you'd like and the owner gives you his cell phone number to call if you need anything or if you wish to open up the bar. this is a good hotel in a good location, it's trafficky...but that's Bangkok

          Locale, price, spaciousness

The area is quiet and peaceful and just a short walk from the Phrom Phong stop on the sky train so you can get anywhere within the city very quickly. Rooms are nice and spacious, with big windows, are clean and come with everything you really need - a safe for valuables, fridge and TV. Anything more that you need you'll probably find very easily by taking a short walk down Sukhumvit Road. Everything you need at a great price!

Great modern hotel in an excellent but quiet location.”

This hotel is situated in one of best areas of Bangkok, close to lots of shopping, bars and restaurants, and it is only 4/5 minutes walk from Phrom Phong BTS station. However, I found the hotel very quiet and secure. The staff at all levels were very friendly, attentive and accommodating. The hotel was renovated quite recently and finished to a high standard. The room I was staying in was more than adequate and with lots of facilities not usually offered by hotels at this pricepoint like safety box, hairdryer, cable TV and powerpoints in the right places. The bed was very comfortable. The WIFI was fast and stable. The bathroom was also well-equipped with a powerful shower (with a screen that prevented water going throughout the room). I would recommend this hotel to both short and longer-term travellers.

          Surprising gem in Sukhumvit”

The housekeeper; the location close to the Sky Train; the quirky décor

This tiny guest house is rather dilapidated and in desperate need of refurbishment, but what it lacks in mod cons it more than makes up for in the friendliness of the staff. The housekeeper, R, made our stay very special by looking after us above and beyond the call of duty. MHC stands for Mile High Club, as indicated by flying memorabilia on every surface. Although close to Thanon Sukhumvit and the Sky Train, and despite a noisy water pump going on and off regularly, the guest house offered a peaceful retreat from the bustle of Bangkok.

The relaxing family athmosphere.Friendly and helpful staff.Free Wi-Fi 3 systems.

On first arrival you realize that this guesthouse is different. The owner Max, a British airline pilot was there to welcome me. He offered a drink while I registered. Miss Ka his assistant took me to my room showing me how to operate the door, safe deposit box etc. This guest house was, I believe completely rebuilt about three years ago, I don’t understand how it can be described as ‘old’. Perhaps ‘traditional style’ as opposed to ‘ultra modern’ might be what was meant but that is merely a matter of taste. Yes there is no elevator but for that price you don’t really expect full room service and one or two flights of stairs is no big deal. The construction noise across the road is only temporary and is restricted to the daylight hours, it didn’t bother me and I had a room facing the front. I really felt at home and enjoyed my stay. Thank you Max and staff and good luck.

Safe/quiet hotel w/ personal attention from owner”

          Hot water; clean room; location

As many others have written, Max and his staff will help you with directions, logistics etc. - if you ask for help. The hotel is not fancy - which is fine in my book. MHC (Mile High Club) does have clean rooms with bathrooms that work 100% fine - nice water pressure and hot water. I was there for a few days (including a weekend), and the hotel was quiet at night. So for me, MHC has the basics covered well for the independent traveler. The location is also good - you can walk directly to the different malls in Bangkok along Sukhamvit - so the location of the hotel is good. Make sure to visit the web site of the hotel - good directions and a map are available there - and instructions (in Thai) to present to cab drivers at the international airport so you don't get overcharged coming into town. MHC is getting increasingly popular - so make sure to book in advance as well...

          Relaxed and Convenient Hotel”

good location in Sukhumvit, affordable price, accommodating staff

We arrived at MHC Guesthouse at 5am (off a night bus) and were able to pass some time watching movies and enjoying the free tea and coffee downstairs. The staff found us a room at 9:30AM and didn't charge us extra for early check-in! The room itself was very comfortable, especially the bed, and the desk and other furniture were in very good shape. The location is about 5 minutes walk from the BTS and passes through some tasty food stalls. Through agoda, it's one of the cheaper options in Sukhumvit, but you don't sacrifice quality or convenience. Overall, the location and accommodation was perfect! Thanks.

Hotel close to sky train station”

Close to Phrom Phong sky train station

We stayed at this hotel twice: At the beginning of our trip when we'd just arrived in Bangkok and on the last night of our trip, before flying back from Bangkok to the UK. We had two different experiences: The first time we stayed, the room was basic but comfortable and we enjoyed its proximity to Phrom Phong sky train station and the free wifi. On leaving, we booked a superior room with the lady at the front desk for the last night of our trip and paid upfront. However, when we arrived for the second stay, the lady said, "Oh did no one tell you, we only have a single room for you now" and tried to give us some money back if we stayed in the single room. Now, they had my e-mail address, yet no one got in touch and it's not the kind of surprise you want after 9 hours of travelling back to Bangkok... We got her to ring around and finally we were given a superior room upstairs, which had been there and free all the time, so why hadn't we got this in the first place?! My guess is that we had haggled for the superior room and knocked the price down, so they were keeping this room for someone who would pay full price...A rather annoying episode and the reason we probably wouldn't go back here.

          Wonderful stay ”

The male receptionist (I didn’t get his name) is laid back and friendly. The room (double bed) is spacious with modern decor and sufficient for a short stay to shop and dine in Bangkok. Even has a bar fridge and hair dryer in the room with two bottles of drinking water. Has a hanging ceiling bar that act as both decorative and functional to hang towels and clothes. Also has a large floor to ceiling mirror which is great to check out your OOTD. Free tea and coffee at the cafe downstairs. 5 mins walk to the closest BTS at emquartier and emporium. 7-11 available near to the said BTS. Opposite the place is ‘the address’ condo where the security guard is facing the hotel, so it’s not so worrisome at night when you walk back to the alley. Only have thai tv channels. Overall value for money.

From BTS to guest house is only about 10 - 15 mins walk. If wish to take cabs, only 1 - 2 mins walk to main road. Near to Sukhumvit 24 which has a lot of nice spa & massage shop.
