Value for money!”
I would definitely recommend the P & R residence Bangkok for anyone traveling on a budget but still expects a decent level of cleanliness and comfort. The hotel is well located on the riverside next to some of the most luxurious hotels in Bangkok. A taxi or tuc tuc can be accessed from right outside and takes around 5 mins to the city centre. There is also the boat taxis about a minutes walk away which can take you pretty much anywhere fast! Same goes for the MTR and skytrain monorail systems (about 5 min walk away). The staff were great and gave us plenty of information about where to go and what to do. The hotel was clean, comfortable and amazing value for money. The only negatives were the lack of breakfast (many food vendors nearby anyway) and the construction nearby which did wake us up a few times. Anyway thats not the hotels fault. In summary, you defiantly wont be disappointed!

P&R Residence is great value budget hotel”
P&R Residence is great value budget hotel, this was the first hotel of many on our 6 week Thailand vacation and the cheapest from memory. ( 4 night stay) I chose this hotel for it’s location, we were looking for somewhere close to the pier that we would be catching our Loy Nava Dinner Cruise (Loy Krathong) and Ayutthya Cruise from. Brilliant location for what we wanted. P&R Residence is about 50m from the main pier we needed and less than 200m from the River City Piers and shopping complex. (You walk past the Sheraton on the way) Taxis pass by 24/7. From our Deluxe room I had some view of the river, the room was basic and no frills but had a very comfortable King sized bed, small simple fridge and mini bar (reasonably priced). Good desk and chair if you needed to write a letter and /or plug in the laptop. Everything was very clean, including the bathroom, which I had a very nice hot shower every time. The WiFi was excellent and much better than some 5 star hotels we stayed at! The staff were lovely and I had no problem communicating. I miss my room service but TBH you are so close to some fantastic eats that it was no problem. We never actually had breakfast at the hotel so can’t comment on that, what we did was walk to river city, to the left and outside was a fantastic coffee shop that we had breakfast daily. Some of the restauraunts inside have great views and dinning to be had. In the evening there was even a street seafood “restauraunt” across the road from River City that had great food at great prices! I would not hesitate to stay there again if I’m in Bangkok around Loy Krathong.

Great location”
This place is a good find. Its location is an A+. It is located off main street but have easy access to many sites of attraction. Staffs are helpful and friendly. The room is comfortable and clean. There are 7-Eleven nearby that provides convenience when in need of food or basic necessities such as water. Since it is next to the Sheraton, there always be taxi come by the hotel every few minutes. We stay there for five nights and started to be used to the neighborhood. Too bad we have to leave for our next stop. If there is one thing the hotel can improve, we would recommend having few hair dryer and iron with ironing board that the guests can borrow. It is very difficult to travel with a hair dryer nowsday when security issue is a big concern at the airport. We need to wash our hair and be able to dry it without having to spend our vacation time in a salon. So it would be great if few basic items as mentioned are available for borrowing on site. However, we love P&R Residence and sure will go back to stay on our next trip to Bangkok.

Great base in Bangkok”
p & r residence is in a great location, it is within walking distance of the heart of chinatown, and the chinatown walking streets start next to the hotel. if you don't want to walk the ferry leaves from around the corner, there are always taxis and tuk tuks outside the sheraton hotel, almost next door, and the skyrail is not too far away. the room was clean and comfortable, and there was a nice foyer where you could have complimentary tea and coffee whilst reading a magazine or book. the wifi worked well and the hotel had luggage storage facilities.

Wonderful hotel and value for money”
i had a great time staying in this hotel. the staff are very helpful and friendly. the room is perfectly clean and the bed is so comfortable. the hotel is located in the heart of bangkok, making it so convenient for me to travel around for both shopping and sightseeing. it's only 1 minute to the ferry pier and bus stop...and can get taxi and tuk-tuk anytime in front of the hotel. all in all, i had a wonderful time and will definitely stay at p&r again during my next visit.

Great service, location and value”
My daughter and I greatly enjoyed our stay and the P &R Residence Hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we checked in until we checked out. Our room was clean and large enough to be comfortable. The location is excellent, especially because I was attending a conference at the Sheraton, which is next door.

Very Comfortable”
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at P & R Residence. Our room was the superior room and we had a window. The room was very clean as well as the bathroom. The bed was very lovely to sleep in, very big and very clean. Although the hotel was a bit far from the main areas, it was reasonable catching a taxi or tuk-tuk to Siam area. The hotel did not have a restaurant, but it was OK because there is some street food near 7/11 and we always ate out in the city area. Getting to the hotel was easy, we just asked the taxi driver to take us to the Royal Orchid Sheraton.

Good value”
I usually don't stay at the Riverside area when I come to Bangkok, preferring the pulse at Sukhumvit. This time I came in to town to be with some friends who were staying at the pricier Sheraton next door and I'm pleased with my 3 night stay at the P&R Residence. The room was a nice size with a comfortable simple decor. There's hardly any traffic at night so I had a quiet sleep, even with a room facing the street below. The express boats are a minute around the corner at the Si Phraya pier. Taxis are readily available from the Sheraton two minutes away. You can also walk to the BTS station in 15 minutes.

Bangkok stay”
The P&R residence was for us in an ideal location as it was so near to the water ferry terminal of Pra Sri Phraya. We used this as our main mide of travel - visiting the Grand Palace,Temple of Dawn, Flower market etc. It is also within walking distance (about 10 mins) to a main station - Hualampong station (or Southern Terminal). One morning, we took the train to Ayutthaya, the old capital of Siam. The trip was about 1 1/2 hrs but due to a delay leaving Hualampong, we got to Ayutthaya in 2 hrs. But since we left early from Bangkok, we weren't too bothered. We came back to Bangkok from Ayutthaya by van which took about 1 hr and 15 mins. For us the P&R residence was just what we wanted because we wanted a quiet place. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, especially those who are looking for the clubbing scene. For that you should head to the backpackers' area of Khaosan.

excellent value for the money”
in total i stayed 7 nights in this hotel. 2 in a Superior room on the top floor, excellent view but room needs some repair (missing towel hanger in the bathroom, missing light bulb, broken wardrobe handle), and needs new carpet and fresh coat of paint -badly. 5 nights in a Deluxe room on the 2nd floor. of course a little too close to the street, but luckily it is a small and quiet 'soï'. view is fun because across is an antique store with animal statues in display. up the street is a good, serious and affordable massage place (350 baht for an-hour thai massage); very well-decorated with a zen ambiance. down the street is the Sheraton with a wonderful Spa, accessible (but very expensive) to non-hotel resident. the location is very good because the drivers understand the address, there is an Express boat station a hundred meters away, and Metro and Skytrain stations within walking distance. eventhough the walk to the Metro is through a gross area, so i advise a tuk-tuk for that. for the morning, there is no restaurant at P & R, but one can go get coffee and pastries at an outdoor French bakery/coffee shop right beside the Sheraton (30 secondes away). an ATM is located right there too. for those who want to meet other travellers, it is not the ideal hotel because no one hangs out in the lobby and there is no pool or garden. those who mind the cigarette smell should know that some rooms have a strong odor, difficult to get rid of, despite the staff providing quickly and diligently a small electric air-purifyer. staff at the reception really speaks and understands English (somewhat rare in Bangkok !) and provide smart advice. for example i wanted to buy a computer and they told me about Panthip Plaza and the lowest price i could get for the type i was looking for. the daily cleaning is very well done.

Excellent Accomadations”
Finding the P&R was easy using an online finding tool. We needed a room close to the Royal Orchid where a big conference was being held and this was perfect. Cheap, excellent restaurants were close by, and P&R is so close to other huge, very expensive hotels that we certainly will stay at P&R again when other conferences are scheduled at other big hotels in the area.

Very handy for the river”
When I booked a hotel I had no idea of where to stay in Bangkok. But the P&R turned out to be a good situation because of its proximity to Sri Phraya pier. The river boats are the best way of getting around - visiting Royal Palace etc. The people on reception gave me a good welcome and were always ready to help with anything. The shower was nice and hot although I was disappointed with cold water in the wash basin. The bed was king size and comfortable. Breakfast of bacon eggs and toast fine but cost extra.

another good stay”
second stay here and as good as the first (hence came back). At first this feels like its in a remote area down by the river (around the corner from the Sheraton) but you are a 50 baht taxi ride from anywhere you want to be (Silom Rd, Siam Sq, KSR) - just dont get a cab on the doorstep of the hotel - they prey on the Sheraton customers who dont bother doing their homework and pay the 250 baht the taxis ask for - go onto the main street 2 mins away and flag one down that will use its meter (if it wont wait for another that will). The ferry terminal (no 3) is 30 seconds from the hotel door and this is the best way to get around Bangkok ayway - the river views are great and get you to all the top tourist sites and ferry stop 13 is a 10 min walk to KSR. ferry is also cheap. Had the breakfasts at P&R for the first time and they were great too. Really like this hotel for its peace and quiet, the lonely planet and umbrella they lone you, and its proximity to a good massage spa, then post office and everything I need. Good night's sleep also guaranteed here and the beds and soft white sheets are lovely. Booking via Agoda saves on going direct too.

Nice hotel at a great price”
The room was very comfortable and great for the price. If you want a high quality room but don't want to pay the high prices of nearby 5 star places, then I would definitely recommend P and R Residence. The location is great as well as it is right next to the river and the boat taxi station.

Pleasant holiday in Bangkok”
P&R Residence is a very good budget hotel, clean, convenient, the location is very good. You can take river taxi (1 minute walk away) to the WAT PO or to the Grand Palace, you can also go to Saphan Taksin skytrain station very easy! 100 bath by taxi from P&R to Siam Paragon, 7-Eleven is very near. Would love to stay here again.

Comfortable room in a terrific location”
clean, comfortable, spacious hotel room with basic amenities. p&r's location is terrific and it served as a great base for exploring bangkok. i appreciated the easy access to the river taxis, availability of good tailors within the neighborhood, availability of public transport (buses, metro) -- and the relative quiet of the neighborhood. the staff was helpful in responding to questions and requests, and free wifi was a definitely plus. i would certainly stay again and have already recommended p&r to various friends.

Good for the price”
I was satisfied with this hotel. Of course, for this really fair price you should not expect anything fancy, but it was good enough a place to sleep. Positives are that the staff is very helpful and speaks English, there is 24 hours reception even though it is a small place, so you don't have to worry about late arrival. There is free wifi in the rooms, password protected and working, no problem getting through a bottleneck of hotel servers, which is often a problem with even the best hotels. Water bottles in the room with reasonable pricing, which you do need in Bangkok. The location is really good - 1 min to Si Phraya pier, so all the top sights are within good reach on the water (no traffic jam, cheaper then taxi!). There is a quite good restaurant near (1 min, Gallery cafe, recommended by the Rough Guide). The staff was helpful with getting laundry and pressing within a day, or getting a cab with meter prices to the airport. Negatives: we were there for two separate intervals, so we tried two different rooms. In one, the air was a bit stale and the AC was quite noisy. The top shelf of the wardrobe was dusty. In the other, it was impossible to set a stable pleasant water temperature - too hot or too cold. I asked for a second comforter and I had to pay an additional 200 bahts for it. These I found mild inconveniences and I was satisfied overall.

P & R Residence Hotel ”
Location of P & R Hotel is great. This hotel was so close to the water and commuter boat that is the only mode of transportation we used. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, waterfront, tour bookings. Many people around at night felt safe to walk. It was down the street from "Gallery Cafe" Restaurant which I highly recommend, the best Thai Restaurant ever! Wonderful food, ambiance, and service. I cannot say enough about the restaurant. It included upstairs massage, which we indulged in too. Back to the hotel one staff person, the young woman at P & R, was very helpful and sweet and listen to all our questions and comments about Bangkok. The rooms were good, clean, with comfortable beds. The payment booking thro Agoda went smooth. No problems. That was the nicest thing. I was afraid they might haggle about the price in some way. But all was taken care of and no questions asked. Some of the other male staff were too busy playing computer solitare to help with answering questions. The breakfast coffee was autrocious. I took one sip and could not bear to take a second one. The eggs were good once. I could have sworn they promised taxi at the airport.... No taxi. But they were ready for our check in after midnight.

Full of satisfaction”
As a whole, I enjoyed with staying at P & R residence. It was cheap, clean and comfortable. If you do not seek to have sophisticated service, you definitely enjoy with P & R residence. We hope you could have a great time there.

Wonderful place to stay on a budget”
Overall I would highly suggest the P&R residence. We were in town for a conference at the Sheraton which is a 1 minute walk away. The P&R was a great alternative to staying at the Sheraton. It has everything you need at a great price. The staff were very friendly and willing to help you out if you have questions about sites to see or what time you should leave for the airport.
