Value for money in a central location”

Lanna Thai Guesthouse is a great place to start off with as it is near the Night Bazaar area so you can walk everywhere and get your bearinga. The foood was great and well-priced and all staff and owner were very obliging. I booked on agoda.com for a cheap price about $12USD so I thought it was a bargain.

Solid simple guesthouse in a great location”

The Lanna Thai Guesthouse is very reasonably priced and located right in the heart of Chiang Mai. It has all of the features you might need: hot water, tv, wi-fi, and a restaurant. It is located on a small soi just off Loi Kroh Rd., which is a main tourist road and only a short stroll from the night bazaar. I would definitely go back here again for it's convenience and value.

i have really enjoyed my stay at the lanna thai guesthouse. i dont think you could get a better location, amenaties for the price. the rooms are simple but have every thing you need for an enjoyable stay, hot water, stand up shower, cable t.v for chillaxing, fridge, cupboard to put your stuff if your so inclined. staff always greet you with a smile and warm greetings even the cleaners ( who come every day, unless you dont want them to). everything you need or want is within a few blocks and if you want to venture further transport is cheap. yes there is mozzies, but they are everywhere , just arm yourself with a good repellent. we were only going to stay two nights, ended up extending to a week. can happily reccomend lanna thai and of you like thai food, lemongrass is great!.

Great Location and comfortable hotel”

that was great to stay in lanna thai guesthouse which having comfortable and big room to me. the staffs able to speak english and there are friendly and helpful. anusarn night market and various restaurants just with few second's walking distance. pantip computer mall just at the main road., 24 hours mcdonald and burger king nearby, 7-11 store as well, real convenience.

Friendly Guesthouse”

Traditional style garden, room clean, staff friendy, speak english well. This guesthouse is good local with night bazar, from guest house can walk 2 minute to bazar, can see bazar from balcony. Price about 550Bath for AC room is Okie. I like Lanna Thai Guesthouse.

Great location”

The room is spacious and clean. The best thing about this guesthouse is it is very near to halal eating place, mosque, hard rock cafe and the night bazaar. The downside is there were mosquitoes inside the room and there is no electric kettle provided. But overall I’m definitely will come to this guesthouse again if i’m in Chiang Mai.

decent for the price, but better options”

we had to move from a really nice and comparably priced hotel, the mandala house(which included breakfast), because they were booked for those nights. although lanna thai was good enough to have stayed longer, they too, only had room for only one night, and the following night we stayed at rcn court and inn. the latter was also cheaper and nicer than lanna thai, but in a different location (inside the old city). my biggest complaint about lanna thai was really that the room faced the back of a restaurant and the banging of pots behind the restaurant awakened us in the morning. the room was clean but a bit old and rundown looking. if you're just looking for a cheap place to stay, walking distance from the night market, it's a fine choice. but there are better options for the price.

What i like about Lanna Thai GH are its perfect location,room cleanliness and friendly services.Night bazaars, fast food restaurants, shopping areas and etc are just within walking distance.Room cleanliness is up to standard and the staff is very helpful, too. If you are solo traveler who is looking for economical accommodation, this can be your perfect choice.

Great value in a convenient location”

Lanna Thai Guesthouse always provides me with a great location, everything I need (internet, cable TV, hot shower)and a very affordable price. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would go back to this guest house next time I go to Chiang Mai.

Great Location, Friendly Staff”

Our stay at the Lanna Thai was great, it is very close to the night market and we went there every night just to take in the atmosphere. It was also within walking range of the Old city. The staff were very friendly and helpful and when we decided to extend our stay it was not a problem. Only problems were that we were hoping for a double bed and got 2 twins and the beds are not the softest but we didn't suffer any problems from them. All in all a good hotel that I would recommend.

Great Location”

this trip, i stayed 3 nights in chiangmai, i changed hotel (guesthouse) everyday, my purpose was to have experiences in guesthouse-stay which have different rates and also different locations, lanna thai locates in the great area next to anusarn market, you can walk about 3-5 minutes to night bazaar, room is clean but some of things in-side seem to be old and not maintain especially towel and pillow, refrigerator in room, this is a bit difficult to find it at this room rate, nice and ok reccomend to stay here,

Convenient and cost-effective”

Lanna Thai Guesthouse is a functional, convenient place to stay - a no-frills guesthouse right in the heart of the Night Bazaar, an evening marketplace choc full of bars, restaurants and market stalls. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant serves good, authentic Thai food for a fraction of the price of the more touristy places around the bazaar. Perfect 2-star hotel for a low-budget trip or for those who consider hotels just a place to sleep - does all the basics well with a nice smile to go with it.

Quiet, comfortable and affordable place”

I always enjoy staying in the area close to the Night Bazaar. I've stayed several times in a guest house in the Night Bazaar itself and although I liked the convenience of walking downstairs and being right in the food area, it was much too noisy at night for me. I found the Lanna Thai to be quite conveniently located just a few minutes walk of the Night Bazaar but far more quiet. The staff were friendly. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. And I like being near all the activity. There's lots of restaurants to choose from.

Good location , very basic rooms”

I booked this for 1 night cause it was close to night bazaar, but it is very basic and cheap too and ok for a sleep that 's all, owner also owns another hotel which is named Night Bazaar Inn only a 3 min walk and a double room cost 700 Baht and bigger and more comfortable rooms , also a double bed which in Lanna Thai we got 2 single beds

A Perfect Place For A Perfect Couple”

if your stay is more to enjoy the city and its famous night bazaar then i believe the guesthouse makes it a good complement. you'll be extremely exhausted after going through all the night bazaar stalls and what is required then is a good rest and sleep. for two nights our stay was peaceful and we slept without any disturbances. the room is small but clean. the air conditioner worked pretty well. we woke up early to attend to our fajr prayer at a nearby ban haw mosque which was only 5 mins walk from the guesthouse. every friday there is a wet market right in front of the mosque where you can actually mingle around and socialise with the locals.

Family style hote”

the location of this hotel next to the night marker makes it impossible not to have noise from the music and traffic up unto the time the market closes which is around mid-night. i found it bothersome but tolerable. the owner is a terrifically friendly man that i enjoyed talking to. i purchased a day tour from the front desk and found it competitively priced. i found their breakfast more than an adequate way to start the day each of the three days i was there. all in all for the money i believe it would be difficult to find better value anywhere else and if i return to chiang mai i would not hesitate to stay here again…

Great location; simple, clean guesthouse”

It's a simple guesthouse with typical firm Thai beds and wet bathroom. Lanna Thai is very clean. The meals in the little cafe are reasonably priced and there are heaps of other food choices within 2 minutes walk. The location is fantastic being so close to the markets. Not a great deal of English is spoken - the other guests were mostly Thai and Chinese when we were there - but enough to get by. I'll definitely stay there again.

Rooms are clean n spacious. closed to anusan market, night market, Mc Donald, Le meridian, royal lanna n famous loi kroh rd. Really happening area. Lanna Thai provides motorbike rental for THB200 a day. They let me used their bicycle for free... Very friendly staf...

2* star guesthouse with 5* services..”

My 2nd times staying in this guesthouse for 8 days. Weather is so cooling n comfortable except on the mid afternoon which is hot n dry. Staffs welcome u with open arms!! The only problem is the hot/cold tap whereby is hard to control the correct temperature of water u want especially when u r having a shower in the early morning.. Keep it up guys.. u will b always my first choice stay whenever I'm in Chiang Mai!!!Near to night baazar n waroros market!!!

Good location out of the center”

the hotel was fine. nothing special, but ok. it about 100 meters from the night bazaar and some awesome fish restaurants. it's also close to other restaurants and bars. however , it's a good walk to the old part of the city and many of the sights. chiang mai has so many guesthouses of good quality that for my part, i would choose to stay elsewhere on future visits. lanna thai is good, not my style though and there are better lodging values in town, in my opinion.
