All you'll need in a budget guesthouse”
Rux Thai is my first choice in Chiang Mai. It's well managed, clean and in good condition. The rooms are large, and well furnished. The bathrooms have a large separate shower stall. The beds are comfortable. The sheets are kept clean and the beds made daily. I've stayed in many of the rooms and quality and cleanliness is consistent, though the deluxe rooms on the lower floors have some extra amenities. The halls can echo when people are moving around in them especially late at nite. They can be a bit noisy, though the staff insist that there is no undue sounds after hours. Toast and coffee are free in the lobby in the morning and Thai and western breakfast is available. Other meals are not served. The location is great for me. Close to Tapei Gate and the night bazaar, on a quiet lane. A block from some nightlife if that's your thing. If you're on a budget, don't hesitate to give this guesthouse a try.

Great budget hotel”
I’m not sure how many reviews I’ve posted for this guesthouse, because it’s where I stay in Chiangmai and I’ve stayed here many times. I like the location, close to the night bazaar and Tapea gate. The rooms are large and well maintained, especially considering the age of the building. Which was converted from a hospital apparently, so the quality of the original construction is solid and pest free. Good wifi and hot water. Coffee and toast free in the morning, with western and Thai breakfast available. The rooms are cleaned daily. They provide tour and transport services at the desk. I marked them down on facilities because they don’t have an all day restaurant, which is no problem because there is food everywhere. The hallways can be a bit noisy at times which is a product of the building’s institutional past. They carry the sound. For the money Rux Thai guesthouse is fine.

Great budget hotel on a quiet lane.”
Rux Thai is my first choice in Chiangmai. I like the location on a lane off Loi Kroh Road. Plenty of night life close by. Very close to the night bazaar and Taipae Gate, yet it’s quiet at night. It’s an old building, an ex hospital I believe, so it has an industrial quality to it, but the rooms are large and are cleaned daily. The hallways can generate some noise , but staff insist on quiet at night. I’ve never had any pests in my room and I’ve stayed in many of them. The staff do a good job and are pleasant. There is free toast and coffee in the morning. Good quality Thai and western breakfast is also available. Lunch and dinner are not served. I think the desk is open all night, with a lovely woman behind it. Again this is a great hotel for budget travellers. If you want more luxury, spend more money.

Everything you need.”
Rux Thai is where I prefer to stay in Chiangmai. It is well managed and affordable. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Several tv channels in English. Strong hot showers. This guest house is run by some very effective women. Rooms are cleaned promptly every day. Toast and coffee are free in the morning, with western and Thai breakfast available also. The restaurant is very pleasant with good food. I recommend Rux Thai for budget minded travellers.

Great place to say.”
I've stayed at Rux Thai many times and reviewed it several times. It gets full marks from me. I like everything about it. It's good value and the location is good. The rooms and bathrooms are all kept in good condition and are very clean. I've stayed in many of them. There are 5 stories in the building, and no lift, so you can get some excersize. The restaurant serves good quality Thai and western breakfast, as well as free coffee and toast. The women who run the guesthouse are friendly and professional. The quality is consistent. There are several English tv channels. All tours and transport can be arranged at the lobby. For a great budget guesthouse, book Rux Thai.

Comfortable and well maintained.”
I've stayed at Rux Thai guesthouse many times. Very satisfactory. Decent food on site. Friendly staff. Nice clean, old fashioned style rooms, cleaned promptly. Close to everything you need for a stay in Chiang Mai. Laundry service is expensive, but cheaper service is very close by.

Very nice stay”
Only problem we encountered was lady on front desk seemed to hate keys being left when we went out for the day, it seemed like a chore to her when we came back to collect the key, A Smile goes a long way, we went from here to the royal guest house, we were on motorbikes for days out, but the Rux thai guesthouse had no thai smile :-) Order a coffee, and sometimes it comes with milk powder, when it doesn't we got a surprised look when we asked for some !! Nice place clean and tidy, but better places nearby

Very nice place with good staff and central locati”
We stayed for roughly one week in the Rux Thai Guest Houseand it was a quiet pleasent stay. The staff is very friendly, speaks decent enough english and the rooms are okay for the price, there ate minor dirtproblems. The location is very central, near the nightmarket and the old citydistrict, but the streat is very quiet.

Okay budget hotel”
The room and bathroom are definitely a bit dated, but it's kept clean. The staff are hard working and nice, however I think they could hire a few more people. Breakfast was okay (good for the price we got with Agoda, basically .14 USD for each of us), but because they were understaffed it took a while to be served. Overall this guest house is a step above a hostel, so it's a good option if you've been staying in hostels for a while and want a few nights of privacy with your own bathroom. *Heads up, don't use the facilities they charge you for, they are really expensive. They were charging 260 baht for a bus to pai that took 4 hrs when we found a place down the street that charged 170 for a 3 hr trip. Also laundry is crazy expensive as they charge per item not per kg like most places. We went down the street and did a whole load of laundry for the same price as doing one pair of pants through Rux thai's service.

Lovely staff and good location”
We initially booked here for 1 night and then increased our booking to 3 nights. The staff here are absolutely lovely - very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location is in the middle of Old City and the Night Bazaar and yet still on a little side road, which was perfect - in the middle of everything and yet still peaceful for a good night sleep! Our double room was large, clean and the air con was perfect after very hot days. The shower was decent and TV had a decent few English channels. The bed was in the middle of soft and firm and large enough for both of us to spread out. I would definitely recommend this place as a perfect base for a visit to Chiang Mai

budget guest house ”
Booked 2 nights at Rux thai in jan 2017 , on arrival wasn't overly impressed but after staying a couple days the friendliness of the place grew on me so I booked a further 4 nights ( 6 in total ) , this is definitely a budget hotel but the staff are so nice and friendly it makes it a pleasure to stay here , located on a very quiet street and yet only 5 minute walk to busy night life area and just 5 minute walk to ring road that goes around the 'old city ' ,so great location , air con is excellent , hot water in shower immediate , free coffee and toast/jam in the mornings as well as free water on every floor which is something u don't see in many guest houses/hotels ....... lots of tours if u want them , push bikes available very cheap , the only issue I had here was that the internet was so slow for a couple days but after speaking to the manager she managed to get the internet back up to a decent speed , overall pretty good , I would stay here again that's for sure

Good location”
Our stay at Rux Thai was nice. The staff was friendly and they offered breakfast. The kitchen was closed both times we wanted dinner so we had to go elsewhere. We found the rooms to be a bit pricy as there is such a variety of accom. in Chiang Mai at cheaper prices for the same quality. We probbly would not stay again as we have found rooms for a better price.

Good location with clean rooms”
The rooms at the guest house is very clean and comfortable to stay. Its location is a little far frome the main street and night clubs so your room is not noisy and you can sleep well. It is not far from the main entrance for sightseeing so you can go around on foot. The guest house doesn't have a safe, so you may need to lock the door with your own lock and key.

Great Place for Budget Minded Traveler”
Room was clean, air conditioner functioned properly, hot water was lovely and I was especially thankful for the complimentary airport transfer (which is offered once per room, a return transfer can be arranged for 100 baht per room, a fair price). I was pleased with the service for the price paid, and the front desk staff are lovely and helpful! It might not be the nicest place in Chiang Mai but if you're in town to enjoy the city and only need a clean place to sleep and shower I would certainly recommend it!

Good location, room is a bit old though”
Rux Thai Guest House offers free pick-up service from the airport so make sure you contact them in advance. The room is very traditional style...looks nice on the website but when I got there, it was kind of old, especially the bathroom and toilet. The telephone is an antique, haha! There is wifi in the room and quite stable. I think the guest house should use "make up room/do not disturb" sign because I didn't go out till the afternoon and the cleaning lady unlocked my door to come in. I don't really need you to clean my room everyday (I think I was staying there for 4-5 days). And actually the cleaning lady was kind of random. One day she left new bed sheet on the bench, and she also moved my stuff from the bed to the desk.

Good location, good value for money”
Stayed at Rux Thai Guest House for a few days December 2014. Located between the old city and the night bazar area, 5 to 10 mn walk to either of them, which was great, especially if you want to hang out a bit in the evening without having to take a cab. Room was ok for the price. No elevator though. A bit noisy at times until midnight but it gets quite after. Breakfast is much better elsewhere for the same price (the omelet was soaked in oil). Wifi unstable at night.

nice little hotel in a handy location ”
like all the other agoda hotels i have stayed at, it offers low priced, clean accommodation in a quiet yet handy location. this one is handy to the markets, both the normal everyday, and the sunday night market which is a must for visitors to chiang mai.

Good budget accommodation ”
Spacious room, close to lots of food options (and go go bars.. If that's your thing). Walking distance to night bazaar (10-15mins). A few food options around but very touristy and filled with expats. Staff were very friendly, and for the price we would stay here again. Do be aware though that there are many bars filled with people offering companionship right around the corner. Wasn't any trouble for us but could make some people uncomfortable.

Will not find better value ”
Great value for money budget Inn, stayed here many time. Nice quiet location but short walk to lots of things. Markets, bars, restaurants and cheap eats. Deluxe rooms are big and clean, bathroom is ok and good shower. Staff are nice and friendly. They now have free toast and coffee/tea until 10am, you can also buy a full meal and cheap. Only problem this time was the mosquito's, just so many and everywhere at night. Get lots of repellent and spray. Will be back next time in Chiang Mai

Clean and comfortable ”
The air conditioning worked well but the ceiling fan was powerful enough we didn't even use the air conditioning. It was a clean quiet place to call home while we stayed in chiang mai. The staff is great! And the location is amazing! You are walking distance from the night bizzare market and the old city night market
