I stayed in a Wooden Beach Bungalow at Nice Sea Resort on Koh Phangan to get away from the madness of Haad Rin, and it was a masterstroke. Relaxation and chilling out is the order of the day at Nice Sea- the bungalows are a minor point at a resort where everyone is always either chilling on the beach or in the restaurant- or, failing that, just hanging out in the hammocks on the porch of every bungalow! Mr. Nice (who owns the place) is a diamond, he was incredibly helpful, as are all the other staff- as everywhere in Thailand, it's massively laid-back, and that's something to bear in mind- you'll not find anywhere in Thailand where people will wait on you hand-and-foot, which is the charm of the place. Mr. Nice will also taxi you to wherever you want to go (for a fee, obviously) and is always willing to give you tips and a chat whenever you ask. The location is great, for a beach resort, with a 7-Eleven a 5 minute walk down the road, and a couple of bars and things in the vicinity as well.

Lovely beachside bungalow family run accommodation”
We wished we had stayed less nights at Phuket and more at this spot. We stayed in the most basic of the bungalows with only a fan and we had a very comfortable and affordable stay. Besides the lovely beach/bay and the clean and functioning amenities the family who run and manage the business will bend over backwards to ensure you are well looked after. The restuarant was basic in apearance but offered cheap and great tasting food (local and western)and the honor system with drinks (write down what you took from the fridge and pay at the end) is great, especially if you are thirsty for a beer out of normal operating hours. The position is very central should you wish to hire a scooter and travel around, which we did and this service was also offered by the resort too. Swimming was pleasureable, it doesnt get deep for a long way out but it is ideal for lazing about and looks like its straight from a postcard. If we ever return to Koh Phangan we would stay again at The Nice Sea Resort. P.S We attended the august Full Moon party and had no dramas with getting to and from the party (approx 15 mins drive and loads of transportation is available)

It's a Beautiful place!! We visited lot of beach on koh phangan, and I think Nice sea resort is the best place. The restaurant is very good. If you want you can find many store and restaurant at 2 min in walk. The hotel is quiet, the wifi work in the room and on the beach, and is very fast! The bungalow are very nice and very clean! The beach is quiet and beautiful. Mr Nice is a very good man, and he can always help you! We booked 3 night and we stayed 1 week. We love nice sea resort and Mr Nice!!!

One of the Family”
I can sum up everything you need to know about Nice Sea Resort in one statement: I initially booked three nights and ended up staying for two weeks. As soon as you arrive you're taken in as part of the family that runs Nice Sea Resort. Mr. Nice serves as your caretaker available to answer any question you might have or assist you with any problem you encounter. As far as I can tell, this is strictly a family-run affair, and during your stay you will meet almost all of them. From his mother and (maybe) grandmother that run the kitchen and cook excellent meals and make some of the best fruit shakes around; to his father that handles maintenance; to Cow, the young Thai girl that runs around and keeps children to adults occupied; there's never a time you feel lonely. After two weeks I finally had to head to Chiang Mai to resume my travels, and as I shared my last Cheng on their beautiful beach, all the grandmother could say in her not-so-good English was, "You stay Koh Phagnan, Koh Phagnan." Trust me, I would if I could.

Very relaxing”
I stayed at Nice Sea for 4 nights, went to Haad Salad and came back for 3. I wish I'd stayed here the whole time. The wooden bungalow was basic, but great, the aircon (concrete) bungalow was nicer on hotter nights and better at keeping mozzies out. A beautiful beach with calm shallow water, which never got busy or noisy. The food was good and the staff were very friendly. I went alone and just wanted to relax. this place was perfect! It was full during full moon, but still quiet. The dogs would bark during the night, occasionally, which would be my only complaint, but not enough to worry me. I hired a scooter for 10 days and found this location close enough to everything. There is a very nice lady called Tik, who rents/sells scooters from her clothes shop. Its 4 mins walk, left up the road from Nice Sea Resort, on the corner. Rent a scooter from her. She is excellent! Don't rent from the scooter rental/repair shop next door to her. I heard bad things about them.

LOVE this place!”
This is my fave part of the island and would return to Nice Sea Resort every time. They still have the old style basic bungalows which is perfect for us! Fan, hammock, basic and cheap.....exactly what we're after. The beach is beautiful and good for swimming, the beach side restaurant does good food, never got a massage but it's available there, everything was clean and the overall vibe was happy and chilled. The location is where we like with plenty of places to eat and 7/11 within walking distance. The staff are also excellent! We had a slight issue with the safe where they ended up having to break it open (the safe key got locked inside!?). We presumed they would charge something but didn't. That was the icing on the cake. Unfortunately, we're returning to the island next month but they're fully booked :( Next time!

family friendly, great value, fantastic staff”
Our seven nights at Nice Sea resort were fantastic. We rented a car for several days, enabling us to easily explore the sights and beaches of Koh Phanghan. While the beach at Nice Sea is great for swimming there are many other great beaches too.

Awesome Resort!”
I love that the very nice/comfortable bungalows are right on the beach and the owner seems very friendly. There was an issue with my booking so he gave me a free upgrade after apologizing several times for the confusion, which I obviously didn't mind. The food at their restaurant is also very good. I will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Koh Phangan!

"Service with BIG smiles"”
Had a great stay at Nice Sea Resort. A short walk to convenience store, chemist, & restaurants. There is a restaurant at the resort which was great if you don't want to go out & the food was good. Taxi's go past frequently if needed however I did get a hire car for personal convenience. The beds were comfortable & the room serviced upon request. There was a fridge for water, fruit etc. but no cooking or tea & coffee making facilities - but who want to cook on holiday, especially as the restaurants are so close & very reasonable. I really enjoyed my time there.

Fantastic and relaxing beach getaway ”
I loved the place so much I extended my stay. When I first arrived I upgraded from the most basic hut as I wanted to be closer to the sea. I spent hours in the hammock on the veranda with a marvelous sea view. The small village was perfect, lots of dining choices and massages on the beach. The only downsides (which pale in significance compared to the upsides) would be the Mosquitos (I bought incense coils which helped) and the stray dogs but they were very friendly. This was by far my best experience of visiting Koh Samui, Phanang and Koh Tao.

Lovely calm place with clean beach”
Spent the first week of our stay at nice sea resort,awesome place if you are looking for freedom,a nice beach although not to far from the city.Staff was very friendly and helpful.Takes about 20 min. to haad rin beach if you are planning to attend a full/half/dark moon party.I recommend to choose the wooden bungalow carefully,since some of them wont get a sea breeze and without aircon,that matters a bit.Matrazes could be a bit better,for an adult of 96 kg,they're just a bit tooo soft.After all,a place I'll return to.

Lovely resort with many BIG smiles”
Nice and his crew are really nice. Warm people with big smiles on a small paradise beach for a family as us. The place was relaxing and our kids enjoyed themselves big time. Another big plus is Mr Nice's mother. She is a great cook. Mr. Nice was very helpful in many ways. I will come back one day with my family to Nice Sea Resort.

fine sunset and relax in the hanmock”
i enjoyed very much in the hanmock in the terrace of room all day long and enjoyed nice food in the restaurant. staff was all very familiar and warmful. there was convenient shop near by and location was mid of small town . nice thai massage was near by. not only full moon party but normal life in phangan was best i feeled.

Nice resort”
Nice Sea Resort has a private beach, which is nice but not the best to swim in. The water gets pretty low during the day, making it hard to swim. The resort is really nice and well maintained. The owner is very friendly. We stayed in the wooden bungalow, which were very basic and had pretty uncomfortable beds. It was also very hot. If you can afford the A/C bungalow, it might be worth the investment. It’s located 15 minutes from the pier and about 30 minutes to Haad Rin (by taxi)

Very nice resort”
We had a great time at Nice Sea Resort. We stayed two days after the full moon party, so we were partied out, and wanted to relax. It was quite an enjoyable experience. The restaurant is pretty good, but you can find really good food outside the resort as well. Very friendly staff, and Thai massages are available on the beach.

Beautiful Location, friendly family-run paradise”
I stayed at Nice Sea for 4 nights, and wish I could've stayed longer! The bungalows are situated right on a gorgeous, quiet stretch of white sand. My bungalow was the furthest from the water, but was still only a few steps away. As a solo traveler, the open air restaurant was a nice place to meet nice people and chat with the owners. The food was great, I even tried to convince myself 4 meals a day at the restaurant was going to be alright for the waistline... I would stay there again in a heart beat. Thank-you for an amazing stay!

Great location on the beach and very friendly staff, some rooms a bit dated and overpriced”
Bit of a mixed feeling regarding this place. The pros are that the location is very nice, you walk out of your room and you are on the beach, just a few meters from the ocean. The staff working here are all very friendly, hardworking and keep the place tidy. Cons are that I found the rooms to be a bit dated and overpriced though. For paying resort prices, I expected a bit more, but there are no facilities apart from a restaurant and the bathrooms are dated and could use a renovation. The newest rooms are fine but these are even more expensive and not completely worth the, in my mind, steep prices. Lastly, you have to pay one night in advance via paypal, which was a bit annoying since this has to be done within 2 days or else your booking would be cancelled. I can understand it from the point of view from the hotel, but this does not line up with the Agoda option that you can still cancel later after booking. I enjoyed the beach and staff, but a few improvements could be made.

one of the nicest stays that we have had in thailand. always clean and tidy both on beach and bungalows. very familiar atmosphere between staff and all guests. will definitive stay here if we comes to phangan again.
