Lovely hotel, at this price, well worth it”

Giant hotel, amazing foyer, reception area, very friendly staff, lovely Thai buffet breakfast, quiet area

we were 2 of 6 people staying in this giant hotel at the time, it was very comfortable, with an amazingly opulent reception area, and huge rooms. the rooms have seen better days, but are very clean, comfortable and well appointed. the location is a little outside of town and tuk tuks seem to be the only method of transport available, most will charge around baht to get to the centre, which is expensive compared to prices in other areas of thailand. the pool was a little murky and could do with a bit of modernisation, but functionally fine and nice after a day of temple hopping! a lot of air force seem to use this hotel, and it was very empty when we were there, you get the feeling it has had its day, perhaps not so popular any more, but the staff are very helpful and the hotel is very well kept. the staff were extremely helpful, but their level of english varied hugely. this is completely understandable, as i don't think a lot of english speaking tourists pass this way, and they did their best to ensure we were very comfortable, but just to let you know, if you need to ask specific questions about the area etc. it would be a good idea to ask at the tourist office in town, as it does upset the staff when they can't understand you. they were extremely sweet, and this is not a criticism, just advice for english-speaking tourists.

The hotel staff is great, the grounds, gardens, rooms, and all could be fantastic, but in serious need of regular good maintenance. Light bulbs burned out, shower hook broken, etc. This hotel/resort could be a jewel.

    Nice hotel very friendly staff”

I like the pool much, big garden to walk. The hotel has a spa with very good traditional massage.

I stayed already 3 times in this hotel. The hotel is situated just outside the centre of the city. in a quiet area. Good private parking. The big pool is situated in the garden. I did like the relax area, and in 5 minutes you are in the city centre. The hotel is also good to visit with children.

Nice hotel for the transient customers”

Easy check-in, large rooms, okay view.

i chose this hotel because it listed a sauna and massage, but since the sauna was located in the spa area and it was new year's day, this facility was closed. i was disappointed. the service was adequate and the room was a nice size, clean, and well-maintained for an older hotel.

Beautiful Grand Old Dam, tired staff and service.”

    Beautiful lake and gardens

I was impressed with the layout of beautiful lakes and gardens as I entered the hotel grounds. The attendant greeted me at my cab and led me into the a magnificently grand lobby; I was at first impressed with the elaborate detail in the workmanship, but all the lights were off and I also felt a eery mysterious quiet -- as if I were in some movie where strange things would happen. The lady at the reception desk was preoccupied with something in the back room and when she finally came out I learned through her cavalier attitude she spoke not one word of English. I finally thought conveyed to her I had a reservation and eventually she gave me a key to a room. The room hardly looked like the photos of Superior room I booked, but rather than struggle with her again, i settled with my disappointment. I arrived with a thirst and an appetite, and a trip to look for a snak only made me realize none of the sparse staff were either friendly or spoke any English. I went to the door attendant and made him realize i wanted a taxi, during this conversation I could smell alcohol on his breath. I got my taxi, went to town and bought some food and drink to bring back with me. Breakfast was included with the room and it was neither good or bad. I ate and was happy i only booked for one day. I got my bags from the room and gave my key to a different receptionist, she said "check tout?" I said yes, then went to await my cab. I was in the cab when the door attendant indicate they needed me back at the desk. I got out of the cab and went back inside to the desk. The receptionist said "you must pay for room!" I took another 20 minutes to get her to look at her computer to see i had reserved and paid through Agoda. She said "sorry!" In my opinion it was a sorry experience, my first "sorry" experience in Thailand. I think they all had been drinking...

Very nice building, both outside and inside, however this Hotel seems to have seen its best days and lots of facilities are closed such as the gym, spa. The Korat community has built the Towns water cleaning facility next to the Hotel so that's the view from 50% of the rooms.

friendly and helpful staff albeit poor english skills

this hotel obviously built back when the neighborhood less industrialized--once out on the main rd it is a dirty, deafening strip on the wrong side of town--and a hike to any decent shopping, eating or sightseeing. the hotel itself had dirty, worn carpets, broken windows and was generally very "down at the heels". Picke this because of pool and gym; fitness center was closed for reno? and pool was dirty. I would not recommend this to anyone.
