Great hotel with a good rate ”

The first time i saw the picture of Ibis Kata is not too nice. But, i still reserved it because the location is in front of Club Med Phuket (my husband works in Club Med) so my husband can still visit me during his break time :). But, when i arrived at Ibis, i was falling in love with that place. Nice hotel with good rate. The room is small but beautiful. I asked my husband to make our room like that :) :) The reception (i forgot her name) was so nice to me. The next morning when i went to the reception, she remember my name and my room number without me to mentioned (wow...). What i didn't like is just the food from restaurant. Not too delicious. But it's oke.. not a big deal :) Well, next time i visit my husband, i will stay in this hotel. Love it !!!

Nice escape From the streets”

Ibis Phuket Kata is a beautiful hotel in an otherwise dumpy area. Kata is probably the best looking beach in Phuket, but being in the Southern part makes for a bit of a journey to anywhere of tourist significance. The going price from the international airport to Kata in a airconditioned cab

i have stayed also in ibis singapore and i can say that ibis kata is much better with friendly staff and room service. clean room. relaxing view. pool was great to hang out during morning and night time. just 10min walk to the beautiful kata beach. they also give you free wfi... good for couples and solo travellers. i will be going back there this june hope to get a good deal again! cheers and good job!

Clean and comfortable, a bit far from the beaches”

It's a 12-15 minute walk to Kata or Karon beach, hotel is in the nice hilly part of kata, if u're coming from Phuket downtown - you can get a blue local bus for 40 baht , minibus to airport is 220 B, regular Ibis hotel if you stayed at one you know what to expect, pool is nice, though with ibis hotels in thailand , you need to deposit 500 baht per nigh of stay - at the time of check in, if you give a credit card to hold the money, they refund you after 2 weeks of checkout - no big deal I guess. Lot of food and proper massage options outside the hotel. It has a huge parking area so it's safe to park rental cars and scooters. Our room has the hill/pool view which was good. There a fridge, and safe, 2 half liter bottles of water free everyday. Hotel transfer option is expensive, you can find much cheaper options just outside. Bed is medium soft, but we were usually very tired so it was easy to sleep, however if you need a firm bed then ibis is not the best hotel for you. Overall 3 stars.

Nice hotel, helpful staff”

Hotel is a short walk away from Kata and Karon beaches. Free internet in the lobby though only for 15 minutes at a time. You have to get a password from the front desk. Trips to the islands etc can be arranged at the hotel desk is helpful. Massage place outside the hotel is good and reasonably priced. Try the foot massage. Restaurant decent. Try The ‘3 Thai foods’ for 249 baht option. Nice pool Restaurants at kata cater to western tourists so the Thai food isn’t as good as it is in Bnagkok, Chiang mai or Phuket town. Cons: Don’t make phone calls from your hotel room. A 10 minute local call cost us 485 baht Some small ants in the room crawling across the walls. Pool table in the lobby is poorly maintained Public buses rare and few. If you want to stay at Kata and travel around Phuket then you will have to take cabs which are more expensive.

Convenient Family location”

This Hotel provdes very good value for money in a great location only 10 minute walking to the beach. It is easy to take a local bus for only 30 Baht to Phuket town or a Tuk Tuk to Patong for about 350 Baht. The room is small but very well designed. Everything is new which adds to its attractiveness. The breakfast is of a good standard and cost 250 baht. Starbucks coffee is located right in the centre of Kata town and only 5 minutes walking. The staff were friendly and the room cleaners were kind and considerate. There is a new bakery shop being renovated next to a small family supermarket just outside the Hotel gate. I would recommend this place and am likely to go back there myself with the family.

Comfortable room, good food and nice beach”

I find Kata beach is the nicest beach among beach on mainland of Phuket. The hotel is not near beach, as it is block by Club Med. It is about 10 mins walking to beach. However, there is shuttle service between hotel and beach. I have tried food in the hotel twice, it is not bad. Room is comfortable and well maintain. Air-con is in good condition as well. Free-wifi in room. It is fine during weekday, but weak sometime during weekend. I suppose, may be more guests access wifi during weekend. I will definitely come back again.

Club Med complex takes up the entire frontage to Kata Beach which is rather unfortunate. You are left with an uninspiring walk to the beach in front of Club Med. Better to access beach by turning left out of Kata Ibis - turning right you are faced with a very smelly path adjacent to a stagnant, filthy stream which runs into the sea. Explore the restaurants away from the throng for very reasonably priced and good food and beer.

Nothing to complain about this hotel. Across the street from Club Med and close to the beach. Well priced for the location. Beautiful pool and lounging area. Great place to stay when in Kata. Travelling via tuk-tuk in Phuket is very expensive (Taxi mafi) so if you plan to go to Pa-Tong often, it better to stay in a hotel there.

Excellent choice for budget travellers”

Booked 1 standard room and 1 family room for a 3 night stay during the low season in Phuket for an affordable price. Family rooms are much more spacious compared to the standard rooms and are located at the ends of the building, hence less noise from people walking by the corridor. Standard rooms might be small but still comfortable to sleep at night. Hardly spent much time in the room as there was plenty of outdoor activities to keep us occupied during the day. The staff at the reception were friendly and granted our request to have the rooms next to each other on the higher floors. Beach towels are also provided in the rooms. Overall, the hotel was clean, bright and comfortable and in a pretty good location too, away from the noise of the nightlife. There is a Family Mart just outside the hotel and also restaurants, tailors, massage services and shops offering tours located within walking distance. If you would like to go to the beach, there are two options, take the free shuttle which is available upon request from 0830 to 1630 and they will drop-off beside Kata Beach Resort/Phileas Fogg restaurant. Pick-up is also at the same spot hourly till 1700. The driver was really helpful and friendly. If you would like to walk instead, walk outside the hotel and turn right and walk along the pathway till you reach a monsoon drain with a signboard saying 'to Kata Beach 200m'. Bear with the slight stench of the drain and you will reach the other end of Kata Beach where the waves are more gentle.Kata beach was absolutely wonderful. I would recommend Outdoor Restaurant and Dome Restaurant which serves yummy Thai and Western food at affordable prices. Would definitely come back to this hotel the next time I come to Phuket.

Wonderfully functional hotel”

The Ibis kata hotel was agreat value for money hotel, beautifully located, peaceful and functional.The swimming pool was nice and big and the extras like the pool table and the table tennis kept us entertained till late in the evening.The shuttle service to the beach was very comfortable and a good idea.The staff were courteous and friendly and the efficiency of the hotel was good.Strongly recommend this hotel who want to be peaceful. It would have been good if breakfast is included in the deal

Great stay everytime”

I have now stayed at the Ibis Kata Beach 4 or 5 times and have always enjoyed our stay. The staff is attentive and always available to assist you. I always look to the Ibis as my go to place in Phuket.

Great Hotel for the rate, spot less & lovely pool”

We stayed at the IBIS for 5 nights in a standard room. The room was not huge but was spotlessly clean each day. Each room has a balcony, air-con, tv with a selection of english language channels, kettle etc. We were located at the front of the hotel which was fine for us, the rooms on the other side of the hotel had pool views. The hotel had a lovely pool and pool side area, with relaxing massage available under a thatched canopy, and a shallow pool ideal for toddlers. The beach is 5 minutes walk away, or there is a shuttle buggy that takes you to an area reserved for the IBIS; or so I am led to believe, we always walked. There is wireless internet in the room and 3 pc's availble for free in the lobby. We really enjoyed our stay at the IBIS and we got a great rate.

Ibis Kata”

The Ibis Kata in Thailand was a great hotel to stay in. It is a short walk to the beach and they provide transportation if you do not want to walk there. They provide internet access for a minimal fee. The pool is large, clean and very pretty. The staff was helpful and the rooms were clean, large and nicely decorated.

Nice quiet hotel, good service”

So we went to this Kata Ibis hotel straight after 3 nights we stayed in the Ibis Patong. It's just that we thought when we planned the trip, that it will be better to diverse a bit and move to Kata. To be honest, it's not necessary. Breakfast menu is similar but missing things in comparison to Ibis Patong menu. The hotel is not on the beach anyway and the night life and shops are in smaller size and more expensive in comparison to Patong. It's good to go to Kata if having a nice hotel on the beach then you can enjoy it. They do have a free shuttle to the beach from the hotel till 5:00 PM daily. However, We came on New Years Eve and the beach was packed, so packed that we didn't have a single sunbed to sit on or any shade, so went back to the hotel.

Great family room, great staff”

we had a great stay at ibis kata, nice airy and modern hotel. staff couldn't be more helpful. breakfast buffet was good, snacks too, didn't try dinner. staff was great for my son, really made him feel at home and comfortable. little overrun with russians but was able to ignore them overall rating a+ for me

Greay deal & staff, all the amenities of home ”

walk in rate is pretty high - over, but agoda's rate was about 660 w/o the fees. still pretty great for all the things you get in your room. you have a fridge, private balcony and even a hair dryer! there is a pool and the restaurant serves pretty good food at lower prices than other places. hotel staff was very nice and the only thing i can think of that i did not like was that the maid threw out all of my ziploc bags! oh well... great location on kata beach's main road, quiet yet still close to everything.

Nice hotel, good location, nice beach”

We have been in Ibis Kata Beach second time.The hotel is nice and new, rooms are very small (as you can expect from Ibis).Hotel has a nice swimming pool and is 15 mins walk from Kata Beach.The only problem is that the hotel was full of noisy arrogant Russians and even the kind Thai staff was not able to explain that at 4am we prefer to sleep and do not want to listen to the loud Russian TV and bunch of drunks from the room next door.The same applies to the swimming pool surroundings, where these guests were bringing bottles of vodka and beer from the nearby supermarket regardless of the restrictions explained to them again and again by the staff.

New & nice hotel”

A new hotel I think. Cheap and nice hotel. Reception counter greet me well. Cleaner even stop going to their cleaning room and stand still when they meet a customer. Saying hello is a must i think. They provide tour, car rent. Beach transfer. About 10 mins walk to Dino Mini golf and restaurant. 10mins to the other side of Kata town. I gift them 4 out of 5. I they provide customer with free wifi, i can guarantee will stay here again. (this is my 1st hotel out of 4 during my honeymoon in Phuket) I didnt go to their restaurant, so cant comment on it.

My family very happy during our holiday at Kata reception counter staff very friendly and always smile nice swimming pool and hotel lobby transport provided by hotel to/from beach recommended for family with kids or for couple .. Kata more relax than patong
