I wish we could give this hotel a higher rating. We went into it having looked at the reviews extensively so we had an idea of what to expect, but still we left feeling a bit disappointed despite heading in with the mindset of “you’re getting what you pay for.” Some of the more notable issues were: A music bar directly behind the hotel. Great for vibes but not so great when it’s loud and you’re trying to sleep. We could still hear the music with earplugs. The bathroom shower was covered in mold and exceptionally dirty... We knew this going in based on other reviews, but seeing how bad it was in person made it feel unacceptable. It looks like they just paint it white over and over to cover up the mold. The WiFi kept kicking us off saying we had too many devices connected to the network (we just had two phones connected). Had to call the reception over and over again to get a new username and password to reconnect. Not the biggest deal, but it was an inconvenience that we had to keep dealing with. On the last day, the water in the room stopped working. No water in the shower or sink (toilet still worked). The staff said they were working to fix it which was understandable. But once fixed, the water coming out was brown. It made it so we weren’t able to shower or even wash our hands before heading to the airport. Not necessarily the hotel’s fault at all, but it added to the inconveniences we were already feeling. Some highlights: Staff were very friendly and kind and always greeted us warmly. Note: they weren’t able to help with booking transportation, tours etc. Not a problem at all but something to be aware of. The room itself was spacious, well lit, bright, and felt clean. We felt very comfortable in the room and it had plenty of furniture and drawers which was great. The bed was very comfortable and was king size. Location was good enough; several nearby restaurants and cafes to go to and a 15 minute walk into the Old Quarter. The street the hotel is on can be very congested with traffic at certain times, however. Overall, the stay was fine enough for a short amount of time. However, with the issues and inconveniences we encountered, we felt it was really overpriced and we did not get what we paid for after all. I think if they put some effort into handling the bathroom issues and the WiFi, it could be a good enough place to stay.
