very pleasant hotel”
we received a very warm welcome. we had booked a standard room and they did not have one on arrival but no matter as we were put in the very large and spacious family room overnight then upgraded to a bungalow the next day. the bungalow was right by the beach and pool, perfect. each bungalow is secluded from the next by the layout and landscape gardening, which makes it feel very private. the staff were very friendly and very helpful. we booked everything through the hotel, motorbike and return journey to bangkok, all was done perfectly. we would definitely return again and again, lovely location and very well looked after. we dined like kings without it being expensive. the irish coffees were superb! highly recommend banpu koh chang hotel - weel done them.

Very nice and quiet Hotel”
Banpu Hotel is a very nice and cozy hide away to relax and to enjoy the stay on Koh Chang. A little aside the main stretch of white sands beach its still in convenient distance to the plenty nice restaurants directly on the beach. But if you want to have it a bit more quiet, its far away enough to keep away from the crowds. Definately Ban Pu Hotel is recommendable with its small detached wooden huts and his botanical garden like layout.

White Sand Beach-ish”
Banpu is a good hotel. Rooms are VERY clean, the staff is attentive and helpful and the restaurant is good. So why, then, do I feel so little enthusiasm about writing this review? The hotel did all it was supposed to do - but I wasn't thrilled. Balcony views of the sea (which are only available from 2nd floor rooms) were obstructed by the bungalows in the middle of the complex. Very hard and uncomfortable wooden chairs on the balcony didn't invite lingering or evening cocktails. The breakfast every morning was fine - some dishes were even excellent (Tom Kha soup!) - but it was not inspirational (and we had to send back omelets all the time for being under-cooked... enthusiastic chefs, I guess). The best part of the place were the chaises arranged beneath some lovely trees with perfect views of the small white sand beach, unfortunately you had to be up early in the morning to stake one out (by placing a towel on it) and if you were late, well tough! We did observe one amusing, if slightly disturbing, near-brawl between two female guests - how about a few more chairs?? This hotel is at the very end of the White Sand Beach so there wasn't very much beach at all most of the time (we were there during very high tides at the new moon) - but a very pleasant stroll will get you to more beach-y sand if you need that sort of thing... I was quite happy parked on my chaise in the shade!! Would I recommend this place? Yes - so long as you don't get up high hopes for a truly romantic get-away. There are a couple bungalows which look VERY nice (number 101 and 102) which are slightly away from the center of the complex, and they have private balconies which open directly onto the beach. I'd definitely spring for one of those if I were going again!! (all the other bungalows are on the footpaths to the hotel, so sitting on the porch is a public event)

Good hotel in good location”
We enjoyed our stay at the Banpu Resort in Koh Chang. It was centrally located on White Beach, close to all shopping and bars. The rooms were lovely and clean. The swimming pool was great.All the staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing was a problem. The breakfast was good with plenty of variety. The food on the whole was very good and reasonably priced. Would definately stay there again.

Great location, great staff, dated facilities ”
The beach front location is ideal on White Sand. Central to everything. The staff is fantastic, and the breakfast is very good. Drawbacks are that the facilities and guest rooms are quite dates. Staff keeps them very clean, but upgrades are needed. For instance, in our King room there was only 3 electric outlets and none in the bathroom. I these days of multiple devices to charge, it was rather hard. The other thing is that the internet is quite marginal. That may be a general Koh Chang thing, I have nothing to compare it too. I would definitely stay again.

Nice rooms have wooden finishing but need some renovation. Rooms on the second floor of main building have sea view. Right side of hotel's beach is a bit stony, but left side is nice and sandy. Sunbeds that located arount the pool and in front of the beach are good and comfortable. Pool is pretty small, but I was swimming in the sea. Hotel is located in the midst of lush tropical garden. Breakfast was good with local soups, snacks and fresh fruits. Wi-Fi internet is pretty expensive, 100 baht per hour.

Banpu is the perfect place to stay! Located directly at the white sand beach there is everything you could ask for around you. Breakfast was nice, too. The bungalows are not the most modern ones, but that did not really matter since everything was nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay there!

A great beach getaway on a budget”
We have mostly great things to say about this resort. In fact, we booked 3 nights here, then decided to try something fancier on the other side of the island, only to come back for another 3 nights because it was so great. We totally agree with others that it is a bit more rustic, so if that is not for you, then this place is not for you. But the rooms were clean, well maintained, had great AC and a fully stocked mini-fridge (though if you're going to use it, best to buy items cheaper at 7/11 and restock before they check it in the morning). We rarely heard noise from any other guests. There was a mosquito net, but we never saw any mosquitos or bugs in the rooms. The beds were not overly comfortable, but they also weren't uncomfortable. The grounds are decent. We spent most of our time right beside the beach reading books and drinking beer. We ate breakfast here every morning - quite substantial. It was much better than most breakfasts we had in Thailand because it had a mix of the typical "American" breakfast, as well as authentic thai food. Don't do laundry here - there is a much cheaper place down the street. Great location overall though. Some people complain about the rocks on the beach - but it is easy to avoid (just in one specific area). The water was amazing to swim in. You are close to many shops on the strip. The one thing we noticed in the area is there isn't much in terms of good street food like in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, so be prepared to eat in restaurants (Boo Ngan across the street was phenomenal). I found the front desk staff weren't always friendly, but everyone else was. It didn't impact our stay, though, and we would 100% stay here if we go back to Koh Chang.

great location”
Banpu was a great hotel to stay in the room we stayed in was beautiful, not just your standard hotel with 4 white walls. The beach is on your doorstep and if your having a dip in the pool the view is amazing. the view from our room wasn't great as we stayed in a corner room, but there are many rooms with a sea view. We Had a wonderful time staying at this hotel and would highly reccommend you to stay here. There was a strange noise in the ceiling of our room at night that sounded like a water pump which was quite annoying but everything elso made up for it.

A++++ bungalows”
We stayed at few hotels in Koh Chang but this one is THE BEST. Amazing beach, very quite, authentic wooden bungalows and decent hot breakfast. The cons - bungalows have very thin walls so if you're Thai love tourist - it's no deal :), pool is rather small and the staff is not that friendly. But you'll not find better place for the value of money in Koh Chang.

Wonderful stay”
I stayed at the resort for 2 nights during the long weekend. Because of the monsoon hit the island so some part of the building is broken. The staffs upgraded the room for me without any charge, that’s a really kind and high responsibility of them. The location is right in the central of White sand beach surrounding by restaurants, convenient stores, market and stuffs. The resort is on the beach which is very amazing too. The foods are very good, you can have both Thai and American breakfast. The staffs are very friendly and gave me lots of suggestions. I love this place and recommend you to stay there :)))

Worth visiting”
A nice hotel with good facilities and in a great location. Provides an excellent base for enjoying the relaxing pleasures of Koh Chang. Location is great - on the beach and in the middle of White Sands Beach with good restaurants and shops just outside the hotel entrance. Rooms are good but a little dark.

Koh Chang is a very nice Island to go for relax, swimming and so on. Not so much party, but there is some bars and disco in White Sand area.

Good value for money if booking on flash deals on pagoda, great place, good food, nice staff”
Good value for money, near most amenities, a 15 minute walk to white sand beach. Found a great value for money cocktail bar a few metres from our hotel. The cocktails cost less than any bar around with a very hospitable young man called Pey Ley who runs this road side bar. It is located in front of Dutalay and is small but so worth it. The staff an Banpu kept this place very clean, the breakfast was not bad with a few choices from thai dishes to foreign breakfast. Worth every penny.

Just as advertised”
The staff were really excellent and I love the breakfast buffet that is provided as part of the cost of the room. Even though you can step right out into the street of small shops and craziness of the White Sand Beach area it did not touch the relaxed and quiet area of the resort.
