Great hotel, lovely staff. Loud aircon”
Great hotel and beach. I really enjoyed my stay but the aircon in the room is very noisy, so we had to switch it off at nights to be able to sleep - which means we spent both nights sweating and switching it on and off. The massage team is great and also offer fair prices, definitely recommended. Staff at reception were very flexible with the check out time, which is highly appreciated. So, I didn’t sleep well (which is a bit deal) but everyone was so lovely and the facilities are so nice that it compensated our bad sleeps.

Very clean, no elevator, kind staff”
Ageing hotel on the southern end of bangtao. It faces the sea but does not have a sandy beachfront so if you are looking for this, skip this hotel and consider the Sunwing which has a very nice beach with deckchairs under the trees. My block did not have an elevator if that matters. Staff are very kind and pleasant. Hotel room and linen was very clean. Most of the hotel's facilities were under renovation. Only the pool, one restaurant and spa were open.

With shops & restaurants all around This is a lovely hotel with landscaped gardens & 3 pools as well as backing onto the beach. Rooms are spacious, staff are friendly. Check in check out was efficient & fast. Breakfast should have more choice for a property of this quality

nice hotel on good family beach”
This was my second stay at the Best Western Bangtao Beach . It is located on the nice and reasonably quiet Bangtao Beach, located well away from the main tourist traps/bustle of Phuket. This is primarily a family beach resort and offers a very clean and very friendly service for a reasonable price. Rooms are adequate and well-serviced. For peace and quiet I would recommend asking for a room overlooking the adults' 'Dolphin' pool (eastern side of the hotel) as this avoids the irritating Tour Company 'silly punter games' and loud music mid-morning in the children's /games pool area adjacent to the restaurant and main lobby (unless you are into that sort of thing, of course!). Breakfast buffet is more than adequate and then you have a choice of many beach-front walk-in eating venues on the sand for the rest of the day. Great seafood and cheap Singha beer! Good to get a table at the venue of your choice by half an hour before sunset. Bug spray good for when there is no wind in the evenings. Nice safe beach with shallow shelving and easy tidal range - very safe for children. Large choice of on-beach massage facilities with local ladies who will seriously re-arrange you for only US$10 an hour. Well worth one visit a day throughout your holiday. The front of Hotel adjoins the main Bangtao Beach road with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to suit all pockets and tastes. However to me, Bangtao Beach is all about the beach experience. After so many years, the Hotel should give free wi-fi in all rooms rather than just in the lobby. TOP TIP: Avoid the highly-expensive New Year's Eve in-house bash unless you are completely tone-deaf or unless they choose to import a good singer from Manila!

The Hotel is well-equipped and serviced with LCD TV and satellite feed. I had requested a non-smoking high-floor room with Sea Views and was upgraded upon check-in to a very smart large 4th Floor double-bedded room with nice balcony overlooking the pool. All mod cons, nicely fitted out and very well maintained by the most friendly staff. Short walk downstairs to the beach. Excellent pools for those who like to swim or splash in the chlorinated stuff. A separate pool for young-uns. Larger of two pools has swim-up bar. Clean, well-maintained pools and facilities. This hotel is one of several lining the Bang Tao Beach front - and you have a very large choice of friendly bars and restaurants - some right on the sand where you can sit and watch the glorious sunset over the bay nursing a cold beer before dining on excellent local seafood. Prices all very modest, as one would expect. I had come to the Best Western seeking a few days' break in the sun at a beach resort for a reasonable price and got exactly what I wanted. After a couple of years away from Thailand, one forgets how very friendly and welcoming the Thai people really are and how very hospitable. You can go for the large resorts or noisy towns if you like that sort of thing, but BangTao offers a nice clean, safe beach, is reasonably quiet and mostly isolated from any Phuket 'madness' and for me, a great place to unwind! Rates were very reasonable and good value overall. Many 'wrinklies' seemed to agree!

Great Hotel on the Beach”
we felt that we had good value for our money at the best western premier bangtao beach resort. we had the choice of swimming in the hotels two pools or walking a few metres to the beach. the beach was a good walking and swimming beach. our room was large with a balcony overlooking the pool and it had a pleasant outlook. the service was generally good, and most staff spoke good english which made communicating much easier for us. the food was excellent, but it was slow coming out at breakfast. we found the staff to be genuinely friendly and helpful.

We loved our stay at the Best Western Resort. The hotel is situated right on the beautiful Bangtao Beach. We had a room on the side of the hotel situated in a quite area with stunning garden and lawns. You can however have a room that over looks the pool and sea. The staff were great. The breakfasts were super. There are restaurants etc right outside the hotel. Surin Beach is very close and then there is Kamala Beach and Patong beach which are about 10 and 20 mins away.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Bangtao Beach Resort and Spa. This is my third visit and I would definitely stay there again. This time I was with my daughter and her young family. It catered well for my young grand daughter of two years old and for the four month baby. There was a small play room which was air conditioned when the heat became too much. Although there weren't many children staying at the hotel this wasn't a problem as everyone was very friendly. My only small complaint about the hotel was the very hard matress on the bed and the pillow was far too thick for me. Apart from this had a wonderful stay.

Great Family Holiday - Would Definitely Return”
Overall, we would definitely return to Best Western Bangtao - perfect hotel for a quiet & relaxing family holiday. Beautiful pools and right on the beach - perfect for families with children. The kids room is very small but was enough to keep our two year olds occupied for a while. Housekeeping do a fantastic job keeping the rooms super clean - our room was very large and situated on large lawn area so our kids could run and play (two storey rooms across the small road, adjacent to hotel). Buffet breakfast is good with enough variety. Overall the area is fairly isolated so perfect for a family wanting to relax and Patong is only 15 minutes by taxi (July 2013 taxi was charging THB600 from Bangtao to Patong). The hotel is close to some massage shops and a few restaurants (but not many) - we also recommend Cafe De Bangtao to the left about 50m from hotel. Good minimart - turn right then left - on your left side. NEGATIVES? Please, please Best Western Bangtao - consider updating your beds & bedding. Seriously the hardest bed I have ever slept on in my life - hardly slept for a week and husband and I both had serious neck pain! No free wi-fi in the room - unacceptable (even for safety sake to receive tsunami warnings etc). Gym room very small - two bikes (one is broken), two treadmills (one sticking and in need of service). Definitely a family hotel. Would definitely return, particularly if the beds were updated so we could sleep properly!

amazing, tropical escape is best west premier”
the view from our room balcony was out of this world. the friendly, efficient and respectful welcome that we received was like no other hotel that we've stayed in. the service was very good and the environment and views were outstanding. we left the best western premier to go and stay at another hotel during our holiday, and decided to go back to them, and when we walked into our hotel rooms, we received a welcome back sign on our beds, made up of fern leaves and orchards. where else would you get that. the best west premier comes highly recommended.

Lovely hotel on beautiful beach”
The resort was in a lovely location only 30 mins from airport, we opted to try a different beach from Kata as it has gotten more dirty lately. Bangtao did not disappoint, I am a beach lover and enjoyed swimming in a clean beach. So many food options along the beach and just outside the resort, massages, drinks, 7/11, all you need really. The resort was extremely clean and staff very friendly. Pool was lovely and we had a poolside room. The only negative is that my movie channel in my room was not working and after a few attempts to get it sorted unfortunately this never happened but did not ruin my holiday. I will definately be going back.

Reasonably priced option right on Bangtao beach”
This is a well-located, medium-sized hotel at the lower end of Bangtao beach. We stayed in a seaview room with a balcony overlooking the pool and beach 20 metres away; unusually we could hear the waves crashing on the beach, quite a rare feature in this area. The area between the hotel's large, clean pool and the immense, generally clean beach is shaded by trees and pleasant for relaxing; you can shower after coming out of the sea. The hotel doesn't have many seats but there are plenty on the sand itself which can be 'rented' for a day. The little stall in the shade provides wonderful ice-cold coconuts, ice creams, and fruit plates. There are the usual boat-trip vendors and hawkers of various items, but not too many and a lady hand-roasts delicious corn. The hotel has a French 'sport' staff who organise aerobics, water volleyball and other activities. We found the food generally a little disappointing; the Thai options were better in the evening with good stir-fried vegetables but the deep-fried fish had clearly been frozen and the salmon was poor. The breakfast had a good choice with reasonable quality of fruit, bread, omelette etc.. One advantage of the hotel is that there are a huge variety of shops and restaurants just outside. The area of Bangtao itself away from the beach is full of character with a large, friendly Muslim population offering a chance to experience genuine Thai culture in a way that is impossible in the sprawling (and very expensive) Laguna complex further up the beach. The room was spacious and fine for our needs. We understand that beaches are home to lots of wildlife but we did notice that ants found their way into any item of food left out for even a few minutes – even my laptop was colonized until we got back to Bangkok.
