buri rasa! the only regret i have is not having stayed longer or having spent more time there. the hotel is new and beautiful. my room was located right above the pool which was great. the room is spacious, has great lighting, the bathroom is uber-fantastic and comfortable. the closet area, concealed by a curtain has an old world charm. everyday a special desert was sent by the chef, which seemed like an extremely warm act on part of the hotel. the staff was extremely help and lived up to all whims of a guest as demanding as myself. the breakfast by the beach was very satisfying. the beach hut, bar and restaurant is the best feature of this hotel. great place to hang out, chill, losen-up, unwind. there is live barbq that takes place on the beach and on the sand table and chair seating is very good. the food was the best you can find in thong nai pan noi. the stretch of the beach is very good for walking during the day or after dark. i loved being at this hotel and woke up several morning to watch the sunrise from the beach front. it's a piece of heaven. the street outside is laced with a few commercial establishments, a very good thai restaurant called "jips" everyone should eat here at least once, an indian place called "royal tandoori hut", very good if you are fond of that cuisine, an interesting bar called "better than sex", also visit "mr.handsome" and a few massage places etc. after walking that street a few times, you'll feel at home because everybody will remember you. do visit the other beach thong nai pan yai and do go to the than sadet waterfall. the only downside to the area is it is far flung from had rin/thong sala/haad salad. the road to thong nai pan noi is treacherous especially at night and also when it's raining. at night it's like driving through the woods and mountains, which is adventurous in it's own right. rent a car and not a bike which is cheaper and unsafe. buri rasa is highly recommended.

Little slice of heaven”

I accidentally forgot to cancel my booking so I was going to be charged for one nights stay whether I came or not, so I opted to come. Upon arrival, I hoped in the back of a 'cab' (open flat bed truck) piling people in to go to Thong Nai Pan Noi, which is on the north east side of Phangan and a good 30 min drive from Thongsala pier. If you are faint of heart around travel safety, I would pre-book transport with the hotel and while the ride is an exciting, scenic one, flying out of the back was a fear. NOTE: If you are planning on traveling to different parts of Phangnan (as I was) this is not the place for you. It is out there....in a good way. I was supposed to drop my things and go meet friends in Haad Chao beach on the other side, but upon learning it would be about an hour-1.5 hour trip, and 3000-5000 baht both ways, I opted to stay. And am very glad I did. The room itself is clean, comfortably laid out, and quiet. I don't use pinterest but there were tons of little details I wanted to photo and post, such as the turn down service including my favorite sticky rice desserts with a note from the chef, adorable little wooden signs on the toiletry products, etc. The spa services were amazing-you could get a massage beside the beach for the same price as the local places outside of the hotel-usually the hotel spa is multiple times the price. The beach front restaurant is lovely, food is solid, drinks were good, and the breakfast was awesome. The beach itself was not the calmest when I was there, but the setting is serene and it is completely away from the action. Lots of stray dogs around, but I realized early thats most of Thailand. Staff was helpful, kind, and very accomodating. Didnt use the pool-recommend getting their early for a spot as it is pretty small. One slight disappointment is the 'fitness center' is currently an empty room with a medicine ball. Staff said they were waiting on equipment, but they should hold to advertise it till rea

The way a holiday was meant to be”

What an incredible hotel with exceptional services from the staff. We arrived at the Buri Rasa Koh Phangan after a horrible experience with a different hotel in Koh Samui. Not knowing what to expect, the moment we checked in Khun Banana at front desk made us feel we have arrived at a place where we could let our guards down. Each day we dove deeper and deeper into a state of relaxation, swimming and playing on the beautiful beach then coming back to a beautiful clean room and soft bed. Breakfast each day was prepared individually to your liking not like other hotels with the buffet breakfast prepare for the masses. Each member of staff were polite, helpful and friendly. The hotel though not yet finished and work was being carried out the whole time we were there, we were not disturb by the noise as we spent all day enjoying the outdoors and retires to the room when the work ceases at 4pm. So many other little nice touches about the hotel and staff that surprised and delighted us and we will leave you to discover for yourself. We leave feeling that we have spent our time and money on a truly unique hotel. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking value for their money and absolute relaxation.

tasteful and stylish, right on the beach”

stumbled upon this brand new hotel on the internet. located in Thong Nai Pan Noi, which is a serene, less commericial/touristy part of koh phangan. a lovely walking street starts just outside the hotel which has small shops and eating places with authentic thai food (visit Jib's) which is hard to find in the more commercial parts of the island. i loved the way the hotel looked, the lovely vintage wood doors, the open air feel, it was comfortable, clean and friendly and on a pretty beach. the hotel bartender makes great mohitos. 5 minutes away is another beach area - TNP Yai - which has a younger vibe and more beach bars.

Great location/ perfect holiday beach”

I recommend to stay here for the entire trip. Beach is beautiful, clean, a little far right of the " Tong Nai Pan Noi beach".. Next to Anantara, the five star hotel but not so impressive/ we went there just for the drinks and found they need to improve their service mind./ with OVER PRICE>>.. That's the next door,... Back to Buri Rasa, better service, better food, lively bar, only one complaint, the guess smoke on the beach launch chair which lie allover the beach in front of their resort. In front of the hotel itself, water is a little dirty due to boat docking. I found oil spilling allover. this is the downside comparing to the middle or the left side of the beach. It is a little too crowded. Breakfast is various, western and oriental. Massage is ok , not as good as you can get it in BKK but ok. try Aromatherapy, not Thai massage becoz it is not even close. Overall may stay there again and travel to other beaches. Location is far from the other beaches you will need to rent the car which is quite expensive, one trip costs 1200-1300 THB to go out, hotel car is super expensive, Try local transport which just a minute walk out of the hotel entrance.

Was an amazing hotel and service ”

I have got a double upgrade. Was so much impressive. We were in pool access room no.46 it was a perfect room to stay and not so far from a beach especially cleanliness pool. Breakfast and restaurants are awesome cooking. Staff are so helpful. Thank do much khun Lin (front desk) she ist so kind and professional service good taking care and friendly. Beach facilities are good and location is super in haad Thong nai pan noi. I had a good experience in Buri Rasa and i would come back again for sure 😁

5 star beach stay!”

We just spent a week at Buri Rasa Koh Phangan, and it was (as always) a wonderful experience. It's perhaps our 4th or 5th stay, we return every 6 months and are welcomed by the staff as if one of their own. There's a world class beach right on your doorstep, the most comfy bed with a pillow menu (like sleeping in a cloud) and rainshower - the rooms are really top notch comfort with pretty lights, showing that great care has been taken with the details. They offer great massages on hotel grounds by the pool, with a beach view so you can listen to the sounds of the ocean, and the little village (ie. street) where all the bars, restaurants and shops are located, begins right at the hotel lobby. We took the speedboat from Samui both ways, it's the only way you should arrive / leave, just book it directly with the hotel. The staff are just lovely, they always make us feel right at home and special mention to Khun Boonwit the General Manager, who can be seen on the grounds at all times, mingling with guests to ensure everyone's looked after. Thai hospitality at its best, and they have some of the highest standards in the world :) we'll be back soon!

I’m a long term Koh Phangan resident and, during these pandemic times, I enjoy having short getaways on the island to change atmosphere and feel like I’m traveling. As a gift for my birthday we decided to spend one night at Buri Rasa. I couldn’t be more satisfied than this: everything was simply perfect: the modern room in front of pool, the super nice staff, the maintenance and cleanliness of the resort itself, the amazing sunrise. When we arrived in the room, a “Happy birthday” made of leaves and flowers was on the bed, together with animal-shape folded towels. And then, so unexpected and appreciated, a girl from the staff brought a cake with candles at night!! The breakfast in the morning was a-la-carte. We could order lot of yummy things from the menu and everything was prepared at the moment and high quality. On top of that, we got a huge discount on the room and free upgrade. Thank you so much to all the staff at Buri Rasa!

An absolute gem”

The worst thing about Buri Rasa at Koh Phangan was having to leave. Our 4 night stay was too short and what made us appreciate Buri Rasa more was when we left and stayed at a new resort at Koh Samui which many rate highly, yet it was not a patch on the attention to detail and the amazing staff at Buri Rasa. The other aspect we really liked was the local village with a smattering of shops and restaurants. Throughout the village and the beach we were not hassled once...the way it should be. Peaceful, enjoyable and we'll be back.

Village feel, Clean hotel, great food served on the beach (weather permitting), friendly well-trained staff, good cocktails on the beach in the best area in Koh Phangan! Don't look any further than Buri Rasi. Btw - I prefer the Buri Rasa Koh Phangan to the one in Chaweng, Koh Samui for relaxed, romantic vibe.

A very nice hotel next to a beautiful beach ”

We had a lovely stay in Buri Rasa. Here’s some pros and cons. +A deluxe room with a sea view and an entrance right to the beach was an excellent choice +The staff was friendly and rooms were kept very clean +Thong Noi Pan Noi beach is very beautiful and good for swimming as well +Breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of choices -The hotel’s own restaurant wasn’t very good, you’ll get better and cheaper food from the restaurants nearby -The location is a bit far from all the activities in the island. We strongly recommend to rent a moped in order to explore the island. Overall we strongly recommend Buri Rasa!

Fantastic resort and staff!”

Loved every minute of it. Was a bit afraid after making our booking and reading negative reviews, but it turned out to be one of the best hotels in Thailand. While rooms are standard, they are quiet nice and reasonably big (enough to sleep with 2 babies!). Swimming pool is small, but perfect for kids. Staff was particularly nice, efficient and extremely competent. Everything was done to make our stay the most pleasant. Great breakfast (honeycomb is delicious!) and village atmosphere is great with it bar, cafe and restaurant. Location also great, since it allows you to go out to have dinner in one of the good restaurant in town. We went to another hotel on Koh Pha Ngan to try out another beach, but what a disappointment after the Buri Rasa.... Would definitely come back if we ever travel to Koh Pha Ngan again.

Beautiful resort with outstanding friendly stuff”

Pros: You like beach and pool? Well no problem it’s just a two minutes walk between the nice pool and the beautiful and clean beach (the full stuff ob Buri Rasa cleand the beach when I stayed there) We stayed with our two young boys. There where heaps of other couples with young kids. Why? Because the stuff at the resort loves kids and spoils them with fruits and cake Free kayaks, surfboards and Fitness studio with beach view. If you are sporty, you don’t have to renounce your daily activities. Surrounded by a nice little village with good and cheap food, massage salons and lavatories. You are free to choose the nice but bit more expensive sea side hotel food or cheap street food around the village. Minus: The rooms are a little bit small and our room sometimes smelled a little bit when we didn’t use the air con. The weather. No blame to the resort, but it rains a lot on phangan these days

Best in Thailand, Wonderful”

Buri Rasa is the best value I've ever seen in a hotel. Our room opened up right out to the beach, most places just skew their pictures so it seem like they do. The staff at Buri Rasa was the best we've seen in the 10+ places we've stayed at in Thailand. Ake, a wonderful cheery gentleman, picked us up from the ferry at the perfect time, even though we told them the wrong time! The rooms are gorgeous, I had the best (and tied for cheapest) thai massage in their spa, and you're on the beach! If I had to say anything (and this is a minor complaint) the food could have been a bit better, and there's not a whole lot to do other than lounge around on the beach. But isn't that the point? Boonwit, the manager, treated us like royalty. He was a great man, and gave us great service. The place is as nice as some very expensive resorts on the Thai islands, but at a fraction of the cost. I am very impressed, and may come back to Thailand just to stay here again.

Good value for money (with room for improvement on F&B)”

Pros: - Remote location and limited development means unspoiled / sparsely populated beach - Great rooms and facilities; landscaping and placement of buildings creates great ambience - Free use of sea kayaks / paddle boards - Good quality (but limited) gym equipment for the fitness minded Cons: - Food is fresh and healthy but lacks that certain "zing" of great Thai food - Food options nearby hotel are expensive (by Thai standards) with wide variability in quality. Restaurateurs have factored guests' cost of travel (see below) into prices and quality of food / preparation - Travel on the island is by rental bike/car, taxi service or hotel car service. In our week on the island, we established that the cost to travel from Buri Rasa to the main tourist town is priced on a sliding scale of THB 200-800 / passenger, with a minimum charge of ~THB800 for one person. That is, 7 people will pay ~200-250/person (THB1400-THB1750 total) and 1 person will pay ~THB800-900

Great hotel with fantastic staff ”

I spent a week travelling around Koh Phangan and this was my favourite hotel. From the minute we arrived, we loved our time at the hotel. The hotel layout is clever and inviting. The staff were genuinely welcoming and friendly - all leading to a great atmosphere which is so hard to find. The hotel sits beside some of the most expensive hotels on Koh Phangan but has a more relaxed feeling. The hotel took particularly good care of us during our transit to the airport where we had an hour or so extra time. They brought us to their hotel on Koh Samui where we had lunch and a swim before setting off for the airport. The staff there were as attentive as on Koh Phangan even though we hadn't stayed at their hotel. All up a great hotel that I hope to return to one day!

Amazing Location”

We loved staying at the Buri Rasa Koh Phangan, getting the transfer from the airport meant no stress in getting there, our room was on the beach. All the extra touches made our stay super special, the only down side was the loud music at the beach bar during happy hour. We will definately be back!
