Beautiful hotel, dreadful weather during our stay. The lobby area could do with some colourful lamps and cushions (everything beige cream white), uncomfortable chairs in lobby.
Pros: rather clean and modern, cloud bed, pretty outdoor communal areas, breakfast choices are abundant. Cabanas beach is super super near and the boat comes every 10 seconds. Cons: coffee is whack, staff are quite rude, unprofessional , and immature, cleaners wake you up with what feels like demolishing the building, no slippers, no iron, and no working phone. Veredict: would recommend and had a pleasant stay, however, expect to be treated like a peasant more than a king. YOU DO NEED A CAR :)
I loved the spa facilities, especially the heated jacuzzi! The view from the rooftop is breathtaking. The resort was very quiet when we visited as it was low season (January) and we could book a really good rate last minute. The staff was helpful and friendly. Only one of the 4 restaurants was opened however, and served dinner at buffet only (29€) and only untill 9.30PM which was too early for us, but luckily there are a few restaurants 10-15 minutes walking aways.
Hotel was lovely. But it’s well away from the town of Tavira, so best if you hire a car like we did. We were disappointed by the food in the restaurant. On the particular evening we ate there, it was well-nigh inedible and was not worth €29 a head. The changes in the menu on other days might have proved better, but we didn’t want to take a chance, and so settled for a chicken sandwich at the bar.

“Nice hotel for relaxing but out of the way and could elevate service”
I liked the look of the hotel for a relaxing end to my month around Portugal. Unfortunately the weather didn't play ball so there was no lying by the pool. Service is not at 4* level. Lacked friendliness and proactivity but wasn't bad at all. Breakfast staff were a little too keen to clear plates and often leaned over the top of you, often before you were finished using utensils. Breakfast offering was good in terms of variety and good healthy options for those of us who don't want fried food. Unfortunately the coffee was awful and I couldn't even drink it. (The coffee from the main bar is much nicer - but not included). I tried the tea but it seems the water in the machines is stale suggesting the machines need cleaning out. We did have dinner on the first night and it was ok. Lots of options but nothing that nice to warrant the high cost. It does however come with drinks included which would make up for the cost if you are drinking alcohol. Rooms were just bizarre - you can see right into the shower from the bedroom which is a massive NO for me if you're travelling with someone. I did like that large bottle of water were provided in the room and replenished each day. There is also a kettle but no spoons provided to store - just those awful wooden sticks. We didn't have a great view from the room - just out the back of the building but assume better views come with a different room type. The gym is relatively good but lacks a range of weights (dumbbells and barbells + plates) for serious trainers. You do need to ask where the gym is because you'll never find it on your own. There was a nice spa on site which I didn't get a chance to use but you are required to wear a swimming cap. Lastly, it is quite out of the way if you don't have a car. Cabanas village is about a 10 minute walk but Tavira took me over an hour to walk to along a main road. Unless you just want to lie by the poo (or have a car to explore) I'd recommend staying somewhere nearer Tavira or along the Algarve where there's better transport links. Overall it's a nice hotel but for me 1/2 nights would have been enough.
