I usually stay at guesthouses to save money. However, since the COVID-19 pandemic, it is often necessary to make reservations for meals, and on remote islands, there are sometimes no restaurants available, which can lead to meal shortages. I often eat breakfast that I bring with me. Staying at a reasonably priced guesthouse is nice, but I am not fond of the traditional Japanese breakfast usually served. Since it was my birthday this time, I chose a hotel that is a bit more luxurious than usual and offers a delightful bread breakfast if you make a reservation. The French toast I had for breakfast was superb! It was almost a shame to finish it. I would love to come back for it even if it’s just a day trip to Obama! The room also has an ocean view, and the design allows you to see the sea from the bathroom. The water pressure of the shower is also excellent. The room was clean and spacious, easily accommodating a large suitcase. As the building is near the sea, it is unavoidable that some parts are rusted or decaying. The TV signal was poor and didn’t work properly, and I thought it would be nice to have loungewear (sleepwear) available.
This was my first visit to Kohama, and I stayed for two nights. I made the reservation just based on the photos on Agoda, and it exceeded my expectations. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is lovely, the breakfast is delicious, and the small beach behind the hotel is charming. Thanks to the hotel, the island itself felt lovely. I thought about wanting to come back next year, but at checkout, I heard the unfortunate news that they will only be open until November. I was so sad. I stayed for just two days, but it felt like losing my hometown. Why why why ㅠㅠㅠㅠ Is there no way to remodel and reopen?
The staff members are very friendly and kind. It was a fun trip where I was able to encounter someone I had met on a tour last month. The quality of the breakfast was also high, and I ended up getting a second cup of coffee. I heard they also have a café in Ishigaki Island, so I'm looking forward to that as well.
The location is perfect! The views are great, and the distance to the nearby beautiful coral beach is just right. The staff is also very pleasant. However, since there is no restaurant for dinner in the hotel, I recommend making reservations at local restaurants early. Transportation service would be the best.

I stayed for three nights on a solo trip. The hotel, designed to resemble Greece, had some aging parts that I found beautiful. The room was very clean, and the Wi-Fi was excellent, making for a very comfortable space. Above all, the subtle kindness of the staff—it's not excessive service, but rather a heartwarming thoughtfulness—truly healed me. I thought, "I didn't know such a hotel existed! I'm so glad I found it!" and my stay was filled with happiness. I wanted to visit every year, but unfortunately, I learned it will be closing in June next year. I'm heartbroken. I want to revisit as much as possible, so I plan to work hard to come back!
