"I had a wonderful stay at Lanas. Ronny and James were fantastic and also the other staff. I was there on new years and we had a blast. If you are looking to escape the busy and overcrowded Boracay I advice to spend a couple of nights there. There is not so much to do at the island then to relax, snorkel or lay on the beach and watch the sunset. There is a nicer beach at the other side of the island. The only issue I had was the transport to and from the island. You either can go with the locals (boats that are finished with the island hopping trips at boracay and returning home after 2-3pm) or you can charter a boat. The Resort has a speedboat also which you can arrange to pick and drop you off for 2500 pesos. If you are planning to go with the locals for 100-300 pesos you will have to wait for them if and when they decide to go. They dont have a scheduled time to leave. From Boracay is after 2pm and from Carabao is after 6am, depends on the water or if they are ready to leave."

"This is our second stay at The Beach House on Carabao Island. The staff is the BEST, the class of the entire hotel is leaps and bounds above anything on the Island, the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner again on our second visit and discuss the local attributes of the Island and the wonderful people here. If you're coming to Carabao Island, this is the ONLY hotel with a steady supply of running water, extended electricity with generator as the power on the island is only available from 1 PM to 11 PM and 4 AM to 6 AM, when it's running. The wonderful staff at The Beach House treated us as Royalty. The wonderful rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. We felt as though we were at home, except with cheerful, conscientious maid service. Truly an Gem of the Pacific."

"True to its mantra, Luxury redefined. Muni-Muni Villa was spectacular. the birds roaming outside the villa is beyond words. you can hear chirping day and night. The resort is secluded and private. If you want to relax, it is the best place to be. Been to boracay for 7 days before this trip. and this is has been the best vacation I had. 4 days staying here at Oceans edge resort left me energized and ready to get back to work! Carabao Island has no electricity from 6am to 2pm. BUT Oceans Edge has power 24/7, Internet Connection is fast for island standards. Self Drive motorcycles is available for 400 pesos per 3 hours with free Snorkel gears. We had a blast strolling the whole island. the main white beach is comparable to boracay minus the people. We were the only one swimming the time we got there around 10-2pm. Locals are really friendly, maybe that's why even the staff are always polite and ready to serve. Some facilities are still under construction like the spa and the dive shop. "

"This hotel thinks they are clever and try to cheat on the customers .When we reached this place, they did not allow us to check in saying the hotel was sold to someone else. I showed my paid reservation and they said they would bring us to Lanas resort and old owner would pay to Lanas resort to solve the issue. When we went there, the owner of the Lanas Resort showed our room and he came back 10 min later saying we have to pay 50 USD per night for our stay.We said old owner would pay for the room,he called the old owner and he rudely denied it. We paid for only one night and went to Boracay. We talked to a boatman later and he said this was a kind of fraud, they sell the room from White Beach Resort and forward the customers to Lanas Resort. When we arrived to Carabao,it was heavy raining so we could not look for other place, mobile netwok did not work so I couldn't call Agoda.I think they use this to cheat After we went to Boracay, I complained to Agoda and they returned our payment."

"Everything was ok when I checked in, met the caretaker, my request for a room transfer was granted with additional fee, no issues. On my last evening there was a power outage, I was the only guest of the hostel, power outage, I can understand, no back up generator I can understand but no emergency lights for guest to use is somewhat hard to understand, it only means that the owner does not care, I was told that power outage is normal in Carabao island. Luckily the caretaker was a neighbor so I went to her and she stayed with me and lent me her own emergency light"
