"Vic3 hotel is the best we have stayed in Bangkok, comparable to Accor! Good price, with a welcome drink. 5 minutes from Sanam Pao BTS exit 3. 7eleven at the same exit. 3 stops away from Chatuchak and 4 stops away from Siam. Very delicious chicken/pork noodle soup stall located in front of the hotel, opens from Tuesday to Friday in the day. A hidden gem The Coffee Pot Cafe, which is located next to the hotel, inside the Phahol 3 residence, also serves good Iced Latte at around 55 baht. Clean, big comfy beds, big toilets, great hot shower, good air conditioning, basic toiletries, hair dryer, umbrella provided! There is also a gym and clean, kids friendly Swimming pool. Breakfast was also sufficient and delicious at Love Eat, you can have all types of eggs upon request at the counter. Hotel staffs were also very approachable and friendly, from bell boy to front desk to Housekeeping. Overall, great pricing, convenient location, friendly customer service and a joy to return to, after a long day of shopping! Highly recommended!"

"What I liked: new hotel, comfortable rooms, 7-eleven and several eateries and a pub downstairs. What I didn't like: Breakfast is very simple. Front desk staff is inexperienced. It takes very long to check-in. This hotel is withing 20-25 minutes walk to the Chatuchak weekend market. There is shopping center along the way."

"It was great staying at the Ratchavipa Residence, it really did exceed all of my expectations. I felt comfortable staying there with reasonable price of room rate, the room was nice and clean, very good location for shopping, movies and travel (Major Cineplex and the Chatuchak weekend market was fantastic, I truly enjoyed it) The sky train, subway and the airport was not too far from the hotel. Highly recommended for those who need a place for your business trip because they do provide computer, fax, printer and high speed internet at the business corner with a reasonable cost. The staff was most hard working and friendly. Even they didn’t have breakfast service but I can find it easily down at the coffee shop and walk about 5-10 minutes exercise to 24 hrs. McDonald. Overall, a very pleasant stay. "

"We loved everything about this place (except the location), and we got used to that quickly. Room was clean and nice. Staff was very helpful but the language barrier can sometimes be difficult. Either way they were super helpful and everything got done. The building is nice and filled with art by local artists. They also have several art books available about contemporary thai art. The location was the only downside. It looks close to victory monument on a map but because of the small side streets it's actually quite a walk. By the second day we had it down to a science though thanks to google maps. The area is very thai hipster. It's filled with nice cafes and restaurants. The walk is long but the it always felt very safe even though you are in small side streets. "

"Having stayed in a few different hotels during my stay in Thailand, Livotel was one of the better accommodations I booked in terms of the room itself. Everywhere I’ve been the staffs have been great as well, and Livotel is no different in that respect. The only unfortunate downside is that I was looking forward to sleeping in on the morning of my particular stay, but was awoken by the unavoidable sounds of pipes clanging, amongst a myriad of other foreign sounds that were produced by construction taking place right outside my room (before 8:00 a.m.). Even with the windows shut, the construction sounded as if it was taking place on the bed right beside me. Now I do understand that this is not the fault of Livotel, as I’m sure it’s not something they’re too happy about either if I had to take a guess, and eventually the construction will finish and all will be peaceful again. But, for the time being, if you’re looking to get a good, long night’s sleep, perhaps look elsewhere until the construction is finalized. Otherwise, everything was perfect."

"The hotel is very near Chatuchak night market. Overall a great stay at the hotel, and worth the price. They didn't mention that there was a deposit for the room before checking in, thankfully we brought our credit cards. We had a difficult time talking to taxi drivers because they kept confusing Centara Grand to Central Plaza (mall) in Ladprao. For transportation, we recommend to take their free shuttle to Chatuchak, or you can walk (around 10minutes) to the subway station, then transfer to another above ground train station."

"we arrived at sanam pao station (exit 3, near 7-11) in the midst of a thunderstorm at 7pm. called the hotel and they will immediately arrange for a pickup and told us to look out for a brown vehicle. my girlfriend and i nearly burst into laughter when a brown tuk-tuk arrived out of nowhere and drove onto the pavement! that was our very first tuk tuk ride in bangkok. the ride was only 3 mins to the hotel. we were greeted by the friendly hotel manager and receptionist. porter was prompt to assist us in carrying our luggage. to top it all we got a free upgrade to the deluxe room! the deluxe room included a kitchen, living room, balcony and really huge toilet with ample shower area. its just like staying in a one bedroom apartment with all the amenities provided for. the swimming pool is located on the 2nd floor, with the open air gym overseeing the pool. beach chairs are provided for you to laze and bask in the morning sun. we were provided with a shortcut to the bts skytrain station which only took us 3 minutes to get from the hotel to the station. along the way you will find a fantastic massage place which provides tradition thai massage at thb 300 only. massage skills were one of the best i have experienced in thailand and we walked out feeling refreshed! there are not much shopping or dining options in the sanam pao area but it is straegically located in between chatuchak and siam shopping district. the hotel is located just 2 bts stops away from phaya thai station (train to airport), 4 stops from siam station (siam shopping district) and 3 stops from mo chit station (chatuchak weekend market), all of which can be reached within 8-12 minutes. we loved our stay so much that if we were ever to come back to bangkok we will definitely stay with abloom again."

"It’s basically just beside bts station , and came very useful for us budget travelers . It’s also not that far from chatuchak market, definitely within walking distance , you can bring a trolley and shop till you drop (more from the Bangkok heat than the shopping load, I shall say, haha). The only downside of this place is lack of elevator, and would be challenging for elderly people to go up and down the stairs. I was 6 months pregnant during our visit and I could still go up to our room , just a bit slowly and quite laboriously with the shopping bags. But if you could overlook that and planning to explore chatuchak to your hearts content, then this is a very good place for you. Travelers with elderly people or young kids might consider somewhere else but this is a very good choice for budget and group travelers "

"We booked under QVI and Club Ultima; hence, our rooms/suites are very large. The room assigned to us was very clean and with a breathtaking view of the Bangkok interchange. The staff are all very polite particularly those at the information counter. Ms. Oye, who assisted us in the dinner cruise booking at Chao Phraya river, was truly accommodating and provided us some helpful tips in going around the city. The entire hotel is very nice and elegant. Although the hotel is a little far from the downtown, it's ok because it's not difficult to call a cab and the fare is only around 70 baht (approximately from Makati to Malate distance). There are peddlers in front of the hotel and the fruits they sell are really good particularly the mangosteen, papaya, pineapple, and mango (sarap) and very reasonably priced! The 7/11 convenience stores, are a little far if you go there by walking; but a large grocery store, the Big C, is very near via taxi. The famous Chatuchak is also very near the hotel but we were not able to go there. Given the chance, I would still go back and book at this hotel."

More about Chatuchak

Chatuchak adjoins Bangkok’s most important districts, and it has a few commercial attractions worth exploring. Chatuchak’s Mo Chit bus terminal is the gate of entry for overland travelers from the north of Thailand, so it’s convenient to explore Chatuchak on the first or last day of a visit to Bangkok. Visitors based within the Chatuchak area can get to Mo Chit bus terminal via bus, underground train, skytrain (BTS) or taxi.

The main attraction here is Chatuchak Weekend Market – commonly referred to as 'JJ' – within walking distance of Mo Chit BTS station and the MRT stations Khamphaeng Phet and Chatuchak. This sprawling covered market literally deals in everything shoppers could want, from antiques and handicrafts to fashion, furniture and exotic pets. JJ is hot and chaotic, but an essential Bangkok experience.

While the weekend market is the main attraction for tourists in this part of town, there are quite a few other shopping areas frequented mainly by locals and therefore very affordable. Phayon Yothin BTS has direct access to Union Mall, where fashionable teens find bargains on clothes and accessories. BTS Saphan Kwai is close to merchants who specialize in antiques and jewelry. There’s also a great retro night bazaar near Huay Kwang that deals in vintage goods and has a fantastic display of muscle cars and Vespas. The major modern shopping complexes here are Central Lad Phrao and Centre One.

Accommodation in Chatuchak is cheaper than in neighboring districts. Guests of this area are outside the major tourist centers, but can connect to all of Bangkok via public transport. The Chatuchak area includes Lad Phrao, an area with international schools and high-density apartment living for both locals and expats.
