"The location is superb, just next to subway station, and the few lower floors of the building are retail shops and restaurants. Beautiful design hotel, comfortable, brand new, and kindly assisted staffs. There was no buffet breakfast on the day we stayed as was not much guests, but the a la carte dishes were quality and compromised. There was no amenity kits in the room. "

"We needed to fly into Bangkok in order to take the train up to Chiang Mai so we wanted a hotel that would be close to the train station. This hotel is located in China Town and a short walk from the train station which was great for our needs. We found the outside of the hotel to be a little rough but the insides were really nicely kept and the rooms were super clean. Our morning breakfast was really good and there were a number of options available for breakfast. The price for this hotel was only $30 a night so it was great value for a clean hotel close to the train station. We would recommend this hotel if convenience to train station is important to you. "

"This hotel is in China Town and is a real oasis in this generally run down place. It is very good, clean. The beds are comfortable, the AC works well, bathroom is good. There are big communal areas where you can have a drink, watch telly, play on the pool table, play cards, etc. You can do your washing in the machines there. Free tea and coffee. We used this area when we arrived, as it was a bit early and our room was not ready. the staff are very helpful. We forgot a wallet in the room when we left and we had an email that it is found and kept safe for collection. The lobby was great, with a nice restaurant. If you go there, ask the staff the name of the roundabout nearby. We found this best to explain to taxis when we had to get one back to the hotel. Well, we didn't like the area itself, and the view from our window wasn't great, but the location was reasonably quiet yet very easy to get a taxi, close to all the sightseeing in the old town, and walking distance to the metro station. " we decided to spend more this time and stay at the Shanghai Mansion. With the Agoda special rate, it was worth every penny. Our four-poster king-size bed was very comfortable. Some rooms face outward onto the street (but with colored tinted windows there's no way to look in or out), while ours faced the interior of the hotel, so it didn't have any natural light, but it was so dark and quiet that we had the best sleep we've had in months. Be sure to request which type of room you want when you book and double-check with the receptionist when you check in. The vintage Chinese decor was tastefully done, and the warm colors and Chinese lanterns created a romantic setting for our holiday. The staff were genuinely friendly, and Mr. Is the doorman was always ready to help us with a smile on his face. The internet was good. The bar had live music every night, with some good local jazz musicians. There's a 7-11 a few steps away from the entrance on one corner and at the other end of the block is T&K Seafood, a very cheap dinner option if you're in the mood for delicious, fresh seafood in an authentic streetfood setting. The location is generally good, right in the middle of China Town. It's very close to the central train station, Hua Lamphong. However, it's far from the BTS stations. Taxis all knew of the place, and were able to get us to Siam Shopping centre for around 60 baht. Walking one block over to the next parallel street got us into some lighter traffic, where it was faster and easier to get a taxi out of China town. The breakfast was good, with a mix of Western breakfast standards, Chinese food and also some savory Thai rice porridge. The freshly extracted juice made to order from local fruits was a nice touch. Overall, we were very happy with our time at the Shanghai Mansion and will probably stay there again next time we're in Bangkok."

"The hostel was cleanliness. Location is inside China Town, if you prefer walking then is fine. If you carry lot of heavy stuff I won't recommended to stay here as taxi can't go in the alley. The Alley was too narrow. Overall is okay for me. One thing I don't like is the electric socket that they provided to put our adapter, the designed kind of weird. I can't really charge my phone and power bank. "

"I love this place because its come with the heart and caring. This Architecture is a post modern style, you can notice by the simple facade. This kind of building in thai its called “Tuek Teaw” I have a little chat with the owner. They renovate their own home to this hostel. They also still live here and do they early curtain and wallpaper business as-well. They think to do the best so they totally replace all the wiring and pipe with new system. This place’s super close to the train and MRT(walk 2mins), 7-11(3mins), pharmacy(3mins), Bank(3mins), Yaiwarat(10mins) everything all near by. My room come with a great view of Hualumphong Train station. In the bathroom I noticed the thai touch painted basin, how cute and unique. With a big table counter plus clothes hanger to spread my stuff. The owner is super nice, the food is great!!! This is more than a hostel, worth the price, ever! "
