Quiet and clean room”

Chongkhao is a ten minute walk from the main drag of Koh Phi Phi, which is nice because it is quiet at night, unlike the hotels in the main area. Our room was clean and well-appointed, and we felt it was good value for Koh Phi Phi, where all of the accommodations pricing seems a bit inflated compared to other islands in the area. The breakfast provided is very simple: fried eggs, toast, sausage and rice with instant coffee, but it did the trick. Things shit down on this side of the island relatively early, so don't expect to pick up a late night snack outside your room on the way back from a bar, but do look forward to a peaceful sleep.

“Nice place "Value for Money"!””

The Resort features comfortable accommodation, a 2-minute walk from Loh Dalum Bay. Free Good Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Chongkhao Resort is a 10-minute walk from Ton Sai Pier, which is a 1.5-hour speedboat ride from Klong Jirad Pier in Krabi and Ratsada Pier is Phuket. The room have bathroom, features a flat-screen cable TV and a safety box, fridge and a balcony to relax. Guests can enjoy both local and international cuisines (Halai) served at the next door restaurants located around the property but half the time during lunch is so noisy as i think they cater the restaurant for llarge group of chinese travellers. Do note that this area is under muslim management therefore there are not selling of liqour and beer here even in the convenient store next door plus a joint hotel next to it as well. So buy it near the pier and stock it in the fridge. The web give a wrong infro going to this place but is simple....out from the pier turn to the left walking towards the beach or the sand road until u see phi phi hospital then you make a right turn look out for the sign board walk in you will see the resort. 10 - 13 mins walk to the pier for massage palours and sea view restaurants. The room was really nice, good air con and clean....No complaint "Nice stay Good sleep".

Great place for couples, quiet away from craziness”

We had a great stay at Chongkhao Resort! While it is a little bit of a walk away from the pier and central part of Ko Phi Phi, if you are looking for somewhere more quiet to stay, then this is your place. It's still definitely within walking distance to everything, and the beaches closer to us were beautiful. Highly recommended for couples, we extended our day two nights extra.

Great location”

As is the way on some of the islands in Thailand, a lot of the residents/workers are so laid back they are horizontal. We stayed at this place for 5 nights and never even actually checked in, and apart from the fist moment we got there and spoke to a member of staff that was the only communication we had with them. The shop, and laundry staff that were joined to the hotel were just plain rude and pretty unhelpful. However the room was great, the TV was fantastic and big, the beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. There is a buffet lunch menu for the resort every day, which was cheap and pretty good. This is my fourth time staying on Koh Phi Phi in the last 8 years, and this resort has by far got the best location (for what we wanted at least) than any of the other resorts/areas on the island. It's quiet, and far enough away from the centre of town and close enough to easily walk in, the beach is a 30 second stroll from the resort and quiet with a couple of nice restaurants, where you can dine on the beach. As long as you don't need a lot of advice and help from staff, I fully recommend the FAMILY BUNGALOW rooms at this resort.

Overbooked, was moved to the property next door (Maiyada Resort) ”

This review is for the Maiyada resort next door because Chongkhao was overbooked. It was no problem being moved and I think it was a nicer property anyways. The pool was really nice and the breakfast buffet was good too. The first room we had was small and uncomfortable, so we changed rooms and the next one was really nice! big and clean. the staff was helpful and it was a great location for the price, just off the beach. good experience!

Always happy to come back”

I have stayed many different places in Phi Phi for the last 4 years and still think only Chongkhao has the value of money. The room and facilities are super clean and well maintained. The only minor thing was the shower head.

Great place, good proximity, poor location”

Chongkhao Resort in Koh Phi Phi; is located on the west side of the island 5-10 min walk from the main pier on the south part of the island. Upon arrival we liked that this place is private, calm and still with good proximity to the island amenities. The location is not the best, in amongst staff housing to south and other resorts to the north. We stayed in a (free standing) superior bungalow; we did notice that the more hotel style, deluxe room; in a building of about 20, had a better feel and location. You can hear the whisper of the parties on PP at night but nothing to complain about (it is a small island). The room - Great sized bed, although very squeaky. Open room that features; fridge , desk, wardrobe, a safe and a tv on a cabinet opposite bed. Bathroom is basic with toilet, sink/vanity combo and in thailand; no exhaust fan = mold! But not a huge issue the mold was contained to the corner and drain of shower. Overall a solid place to stay, try the deluxe for hotel feel.

Peaceful Stay While Close to the Action”

Comfortable, clean accommodation with big bed, nice enough showers (though it smelt like Sulfur the first few minutes of running the shower... so I would let it run until the smell went away... it's obviously situated on an island so the water may be coming from tanks?) The location was perfect. Upon arrival at Tonsai pier I could walk in less than 10 minutes to Chongkhao Resort. Close to the main beaches on either side. Would stay again.

Could have been good...”

We were really looking forward to our stay on Koh Phi Phi for the first time and thought the ChongKhao resort was in the perfect place for us, not too far from all the action but far enough away to not hear all the partying. In terms of location ChongKhao was just that, not far from the pier, the beach and restaurants and bars in the evening, so on that note it is a great place to stay. However we were really quite put off by the rudeness and unfriendliness of the staff, namely the reception staff. They were very unhelpful when we asked for things, very unprofessional in that they would go off and do other things whilst supposedly dealing with you and most notably just very unfriendly. We also decided to cut our stay short as when we asked about staying longer we felt as if they didn't care whether we stayed or went elsewhere, so we ended up going to a hotel nearby where the staff were much friendlier and more forthcoming. ChongKhao is a good place to stay in terms of location and the rooms are fine for what you are paying, but i wouldn't recommend it if staff friendliness is important to you like it is to us.

not very close, but jus enough to avoid big baseline / dofdofdofdof kick drum from the other side of the beach (yes you can still hear them but if tired then can ignore the music to sleep). 1 min to beach which is quiet at the day time and no rocks on the bottom of the sea. price is expensive but so are other hotels in Phi Phi. they can pick you up at the pier if notified in advance.

Great location, really cheap and nice staff”

If you just intend to spend the night and enjoy the Phi Phi Island and its beaches, this is your hotel. Nice and equipped rooms with friendly staff and a really good price for its offer, just 5 min walking from the pier.

Great stay”

An excellent place to stay, very reasonably priced, and the rooms a good size and very clean. A short walk to Ton Sai pier, and very conveniently situated to Loh Dalum beach, where the swimming, kayaking and night life is the best. Not as busy with all the boats at Ton Sai. Also close to the shops, massage ad diving places. Highly recommended

Very nice stay”

The accomodation is close to the center but you cannot hear there the noise at night. 2 minutes from one of the beaches. Only there was no wash-basin at the bathroom, only shower and toilet wich was a bit funny. The Phi phi was to much turisty for us (why is there a McDonald on the island??), but otherwise we would stay at this hotel again.

Good location but overpriced ”

The location is in the night quiet and close to everything. The room was very clean and the staff very friendly. But the quality is too low for this price. Everything is very expensive overpriced on Kho Phi Phi especially in the high season. Some things are more expensive than in some EU-Countries. There you can get for this price higher quality. A vacation on this island isn't cheap. The rest of Thailand is much cheaper and more interesting.

Excellent”

We had great three nights in Chongkhao Resort. The resort was far away from the loud parties, but still close to the city. Everything in the resort was perfectly fine. Ok+ value for money.

Nice and quiet on an evening”

Chose this place as wanted to be able to get a peaceful night’s sleep, and we could. However, if you want to lie in on a morning that is more difficult as it is right by their huge restaurant and it sounded like they were pot washing right outside our room. Comfy pillows. Breakfast included was completely self serve and was fine. Location is a bit away from the main centre and quite dark walking back at night from Ton Sai side. It is actually closer to Loh Dalum side as in thin part of the island. Can access both beaches within minutes. Reasonable value for money for Phi Phi.

Pleasant stay”

We booked a family bungalow for our family of 4 - including 2 teenagers. The bungalow itself was in a quiet location - about a 5 min. walk to the beach. I feel like we overpaid for what the bungalow was, but then again, staying on Koh Phi Phi, that is to be expected. As far as the bungalow goes, it was clean and spacious for all of 4 of us, and had a nice porch out front with a drying rack-very typical of a Thai beach bungalow. Not much of a view-the side wall of the building next door-but that wasn’t a huge deal, given that we weren’t in the bungalow most of the time anyway. The WiFi worked well and there is an in-room safe.

Quiet standard room”

Comfortable stay, check in was easy and we went to our double room, which was clean and towels were provided. It is not a long walk to the main town and the resort is between two beaches. One with the pier and more boats and the second with more sand, quieter and better for swimming. Main town is 10-15 minute walk. The main streets of Koh Phi Phi are walking streets, which creates a nice atmosphere on island, without having to look out for moped all the time!

Deluxe Room - 4 nights Dec '16.”

Large room with big (firm) bed, wardrobe, table and chair so plenty space to put bits. Good AC, strong Wifi in room & throughout hotel, mini fridge, kettle (with t & c), balcony with a view of the hotel opposite but the sea and mountain to the right. Breakfast was included but was very basic, rice/egg/watermelon and toast. No pool at hotel but 30 seconds walk to beach. Hotel is located on the opposite side to the bars and clubs so not noisy or loud, but the sound does carry along the beach a bit if you are being picky! 10-15 mins walk to shopping & eating area. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Everywhere in Phi Phi is overpriced, but in comparison to others this place is worth the money.

Far from noise”

Can considered as the best price resort in Phi Phi Island. It included breakfast although is just a simple one but more than enough. Room is clean and spacious. About 10-15 minutes from the pier and main area.
