It was our second stay at Heritage hotel in Anuradhapura and management did not disappoint us again, on the contrary. Staff is again friendly and service minded, especially for one of our disabled companions. The scenery from the hotel is magic: the beautiful view of Thissa Wewa with all the 2000 year old large Dagoba’s on the horizon. Breakfast and dinner are buffets and have a good selection for everyone from Western to Sri Lankan food. And is it not there and you ask it, than they will bring you it if it is in the kitchen: like my tasteful mango ice cream. Rooms are clean and wide with airco. The bathroom has a shower.

We stayed here for 2 days as part of our honeymoon whist sight seeing in the cultural triangle. It is well positioned for all the major sights in the area. It is difficult to find and we were glad our driver knew where he was going. The lack of signs added to the mystique of the resort. We really enjoyed being mixed in with the wildlife with wild peacocks visiting our balcony. The plunge pool was a delight and getting around the resort by the free bikes provided was real fun and great way of burning off those extra calories consumed. I would recommend the special dining experience, we had ours on the observation tower over a beautiful lake, sipping a G&T as the light faded and then tucked into a personal BBQ. The portions of food are very generous. The staff and particularly the managers are superb and were very keen to help make your experience special whilst at the same time giving plenty of privacy. The food, wine and extra's are all very reasonably priced for the western traveller. Most of all this hotel provides an authentic Sri Lankan experience in a luxury setting, something I have never seen in Sri Lanka. Congratulations to the Ulagalla Resort. We will definitely be returning.

The villa in the garden is vast and beautifully appointed, lovely design and very comfortable. There's a mini-bar, A/C, tea & coffee making facilities, TV and one of the best mosquito nets we came across in three weeks in Sri Lanka. Large king size bed and very comfortable indeed, plus a range of pillows to suit most people. The place is immaculate. There is an outside bath with a view of the jungle and a wrap-around terrace with a view across the paddy fields of the Dagoba. The ensuite shower room has good water pressure; the shower plumbing raises a smile, but it all works well. Ranji has a huge and generous personality, he is extremely helpful and really goes the extra mile. We loved staying here and Mihintale is a bustling village with a worthwhile climb to the top of the Dagoba for a spectacular view. Anuradhapura is only 13km away and I can't imagine you would find somewhere as quiet and elegant to stay for this price.

We stayed here for two nights Although it took a while for our room to be ready we were very pleased with it. The reception staff were most efficient ad rented us two bikes and directed us to the ancient city and were also very helpful with a tuktuk and getting off the local bus at the best stop. The food we had when we chose Sri Lankan was very nice. Maybe the noodles dish we had on the first night was not the best choice for us. Breakfast was a bit weird if you chose western - don' think back is the best in Sri Lanka - fruit and pancakes would have been nicer, but the Sri Lankan breakfast was very good. Pool was great. Drinks menu was good and our waiter was very nice. Would recommend this place

This hotel really awesome..front office guys they are realy helpfully.If you requested any hard thing cannot be find easier, they will help you to get this.when you are check out they will see tell you to some guides to avoid waste your time.that thing not happened to me but i saw it.. But few issues having their restaurant. Buffet also small..restaurant stewards also not much friendly.they are always looking for a tips.then soo bias full.. Cool place. Pretty garden and nice view also having in this hotel.. If you can rearrange your front..i mean building decos.its for a first impression for guests. All the facilities they said I enjoyed well.. Thank you Miridiya Lake Resort... I hope to see you soon again..

The hotel is a bit far from the new city however the property is new and the facilities are new and comfortable. I hope the management will make sure the standards of cleanliness is maintained over time. It seems that the management is taking a proactive role in responding to customer comments and making the necessary changes to the facilities or the services offered. That's very encouraging. We never had any food from the hotel. If you can tolerate spicy Sri Lankan food, visit places such as casserole restaurant, Mango mango and few other new establishments. Even though we arrived well before the check in time, they offered us a room. We'll book this place again.

nice hotel in anuradhapura city. good value for money concerning the place. but the food is a little bit too expensive or the plate not full enough... the staff is very nice and help you to organize your trip. the rooms are nice and clean. but if you need your breakfast early in the morning, make sure that they properly understood it if you order the night before. enjoy your stay.

We spent one day and one night in Anuradhapura and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sacred City Tourist resort. The room was clean and well kept, the homemade dinner was delicious and the location is perfect to see the temple city. The owner is a fantastic resource to help plan any excursions and provides a map of the temple area and walks you through the city area. He can also recommend a great tour guide. The rooftop offers a great view of 3 temples, especially at night and the owner drove us to the bus station and helped us organize our bus the next morning!

This B&B/Guesthouse will give you an authentic taste of life in Anuradhapura that is difficult to get elsewhere in town. Like all B&B's the bells and whistles are somewhat spartan. There is a supermarket near by to stock up when needed but water is the main 'must have' that is always on hand at the Guesthouse for purchase which is handy on the hot days. The location is in a quiet neighbourhood. The staff and/or residents are always around so your belongs will be secure in your locked room. The location is only 10 minutes or so from the Ancient City. It is about 1 hour from Walpattu National Park the other main attraction in the area. The food is excellent local Sri Lankan dishes. Servings are very generous and will get you through the day. The curry and rice and the Sri Lankan pancakes were some of the best meals I had in the country. This is important because it is very hard to eat local food in Anuradhapura as boring hotel buffets are the main tourist food venues in town so if you want to eat healthy local food this is a great option at very good prices. Last, the lush garden is filled with birds and playful squirrels to immerse yourself in during the morning over a coffee or at the end of a hot day with a beer on the balcony. The only negative is that the wi-fi can be a bit patchy but.... This is Sri Lanka! It is good value - I found Sri Lanka surprisingly expensive to travel through. Great quality budget accomodation was harder to find than I expected. You really could not go wrong here.

Ceylan Lodge is just north of Anuradhapura, within a block of similar hostels. It's still under construction though ready to go as is - we had no nuisance. Compared to most places we've been in Sri Lanka, it's very clean with good quality beds. We only had a 1 night break there and CL was perfect for this. Note that the surroundings are still pretty rough (loads of garbage) so you probably dont want to spend 2 weeks there just yet. Well, the whole Anuradhapura area could be easily skipped.

We had a very pleasant 3 nights stay in this hotel. It has a homely atmosphere and the hotel staff were more than willing to look after all our needs as much as they could from the moment we checked in to the hotel. The general cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms are not below to any 3-4 star hotel in Sri Lanka. It would be difficult to find a better hotel in Anuradhapura for this price.Thank you very much Sunil, the owner, his wife and their son Gihan and all the working staff for making our stay a very pleasant one!

Our stay here was the best of all the (9) places we stayed in Sri Lanka. The accommodation itself is a tent of course but this is definitely Glamping! There is an attached bathroom, electricity (at night), porch and lots of little touches that make your stay comfortable. The staff were friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding nature and unerring in their excellent service which even extended to the holding of umbrellas over us when there was a little shower during our Al fresco lunch! We ate Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast there and the food was among the best we had during our holiday. We did the safari and had a nature walk with them during our stay and these were also excellent and the best that we experienced during our stay in Sri Lanka as both the naturalist and the driver were very skilled despite their youth. If you are undecided because of the price, don't be, our stay was worth every penny.

Lievi's Tourist Accomodation is one of the accomodations where I felt the most comfortable in Sri Lanka. The loaction ist really good: close enough to the city (even when there barely something to see there) and you can rent bikes for a good price to go to the ancient cities, which takes with a bike under 10 minutes. I personally recommend visiting the ancient cities at least with a bike! The Accomodation is also really nice, with a beautiful, quiet garden in front of all rooms, perfect to relax. The rooms are built in a way, that on one extreme there is a window facing the garden and on the other the bathroom. I guess all rooms have a window! The rooms are also really clean, have a mosquito net and there is warm water in the bathroom. And Lievi ist just a wonderful person. We got a welcome drink when we arrived, and we talked with him about our possibilities for our trip. He gave us lots of advice and information, which was very helpful! If you are lucky, you can even have a chat with him in the night and get some insider information about Sri Lanka! Taking the place into account, this becomes probably one of the best places to be in Anuradhapura. I would always recommend it!

Rajarata Reach Resort’s rooms are superiorly clean & tidy and very comfortable, give best value for the money. The hospitality was exceptional, very accommodative to personal requests and big credit goes to Mr.Chammika for his dedication to accommodate me late in the night, and provide late check-out time in the next day. Undoubtedly one of the best place to stay in Anuradhapura, and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay at Rajarata Reach Resort.

We had two nights to stay in Anuradhapura, and during our stay we both seen the city and travelled to Dambulla and Sigiriya from there. The staff of the hotel was exceptionally professional, helping us in everything we needed. Probably in terms of service this was our best hotel on Sri Lanka. The restaurant is very good priced with good variety of food. The room was also very nice, with television and big bathroom. Internet is really working there, which is a good point, since many other hotels promiss the wi-fi, but it's too slow or not really working. We had a very good stay in the hotel, I would definitely recommend it as your starting point to explore Anuradhapura and the region.

The place is above average. Would have been perfect if there was the air-conditioner in the room. I know it's common not to have the air-con but Anuradhabura can be very hot even in the evening. This bungalow is quite far from the town. But for me, I think it can be totally compensated by the hospitality of Priyantha, the housekeeper, and the food he cooked. One of the very best meals I had in Sri Lanka was from here. I can even go there again just to eat. And it is incredibly cheap compared with any other nice meals you would have in SL.
