It was a memorable stay at Cinnamon Bey. Nice New hotel with friendly staff. Food Excellent. I enjoyed the breakfast a lot. Sri lankan dishes were excellent. I have tasted almost all sri lankan breakfast dishes in one morning and it was really nice. Cinnamon bey beach has advantage compared to other beach hotels in Beruwala. The Barbarian Reef act as water breaker and create a safe place to have sea bath. View with the light house is excellent.

Lovely hotel located in a quiet area of Beruwala right on the beach, there’s a decent reef 50m off the beach which offers some decent snorkelling. We had a ground floor room with direct access to the pool which was perfect for our kids. The breakfast is okay but nothing special, similarly the other available meals are nothing special and overpriced, best to walk 5 minutes down the beach to a small number of restaurants. The staff are friendly, eager to help and are really good with kids especially the chefs who created different ice cream sundaes for them. At the neighbouring hotel there’s a dive centre which isn’t shown on google maps. Loved the hotel but overall not too sure on Beruwala as a long stay location, it doesn’t offer much as a resort town. We will definitely stay again but only on our way further south.

It’s fascinating, too, to hear the tales of these three women and their team, on their mission to do something better for the environment (from shared showers to bespoke coconut-wood desks). We’ll almost certainly be back!

Excellent hotel for leisure. In general, Sri Lanka is a very crowded side, but this hotel gives a real chance to have a rest and relax. It has a good layout, a beautiful beach and comfortable rooms, brilliant staff - warm and attentive (especially want to point Sambath :) ). The owner of the hotel - Mr. Roy is very good and pleasant person, who holds the daily contact with each guest and is trying to create an ideal comfort for them. The hotel has a good restaurant - the tastiest dishes and very cheap. Next time of my visit to Sri Lanka, I'll stay at Roy Villa hotel again.

We came to this hotel for our honeymoon. We stayed in lots of hotels in Sri Lanka for our trip and found this one to be the best!! The room was spacious, with nice fixtures and fittings - everything in the room worked well. We were really impressed with the standard of the bathroom. We visited the other hotels along Beruwala beach too and still thought we had the best hotel. We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sri Lanka as the service was so good. The Al-a-carte menu was overpriced and the food quality was very poor, the buffet was a whole lot better with lots of options (although most of them were quite spicy) but none of that mattered as there were so many restaurants to choose from in town which were very cheap and the food was amazing! The road up to the hotel is quite bumpy as it is not very well maintained. A Tuk Tuk ride into town cost Rs200 (from outside the front of the hotel). If you get a Tuk Tuk from the beach it will cost you Rs100 but they will try and take you to Gem shops, temples etc.

One of our favourite places we stayed! Coco Villa is nicely tucked away, a little haven in Beruwala. Our room was spacious and airy with a lovely bathroom and walk in shower. We liked th attention to detail such as petals arranged on the bed when we arrived, and the lovely spice scent that had been sprayed in the room. We were immediately made to feel at home by Sumal and his family. The garden is lovely with sun loungers, hammocks swinging between the palm trees and four poster beds down by the beach. Great place to relax and laze around. The beach is pretty much private and peaceful with calm waves so good for swimming. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a huge variety of fresh fruit and food to choose from. The dinner menu has quite a lot of choice and we enjoyed Sri Lankan and Western dishes. One evening Sumal provided entertainment in the form of a snake charmer, which was very enjoyable to watch. He speaks very good English and German, running a very professional hotel whilst still making his guests feel at home

The hotel is really a large quaint and clean apartment that overlooks the beach and ocean. Not a large amount of furniture, but enough to satisfy your needs and the bed with mosquito net was comfortable. We were travelling with our son and his wife and the room was big enough for our family and guest to hang out without feeling crowded. The refrigerator and kitchen area was a great bonus and I suggest you go to the market and get snacks, things that don't need to be warmed up,and drinks. I suggest getting plastic cups and paper plates because there weren't many glasses or dishes available. Its very quiet and restful at night and the beach is a few steps from the apartment. We also contracted the manager, to be our tour guide for 3 days after we left the apartment. He provided the van and driver and we provided the itinerary, it was a great trip! I highly recommend Sam to help you with all of your needs and he was a major reason why we had such an enjoyable trip. The only issues we found are the restaurant is not that close by and there is no access by car.

We (m&f) stayed at the Sagarika Beach Hotel for two nights over New Year's 2013/2014 as part of a three-week backpacking trip in Sri Lanka. The stay in the one bedroom apartment was not the cheapest of our journey but definitely one of the best. The apartment was huge (including kitchen), newly renovated, beautifully decorated and extremely clean. From the large balcony, where we spent our evenings, we had a view on the garden with palm trees. The hotel garden directly adjusts the clean beach, which, in contrast to many other beaches in Sri Lanka that we've been to, offers the possibility to swim in the sea (often waves at other beaches are too high to allow for safe swimming). Of all the hotels located at Beruwela beach, the Sagarika Beach Hotel is definitely the one which has the most cozy feeling to it. Whereas the majority of the other hotels are larger, concrete bunkers with lawns covered in all-inclusive tourists tanning on deck chairs, the Sagarika Hotel is run by Sagarika and her family who look after each guest individually in an extremely nice and caring way. When we arrived, we were directly offered a coconut with a straw. The breakfast included fresh fruit, eggs, milk rice (highly recommended), toast and was definitely one of the best we had during our trip. From the hotel you can take trips to turtle farms, beautiful temples and spice gardens in the area, without having to fear that you have to share these attractions with too many tourists. Sagarika and her family organized the transport to these spots and also helped us find and book the next accomodations on our journey. Overall, we would definitely recommend the Sagarika Beach Hotel to anyone who is looking for direct access to the beach and a relaxed, friendly, family-like atmosphere with some of the nicest, forthcoming staff you will find on this island.

In Beruwala/Aluthgama we have been staying in different hotels/houses and Niverga is ranking first with regards to its wonderful and superfriendly owner and staff! Niverga can be seen as a homestay which is run by the owner and family who did beyond expectations to make sure we had a very good stay. They are extremely helpfull and helped arrange a lot of things we needed. I can recommend Niverga to anyone who is thinking to stay in this area of Sri Lanka!!

I'm a girl and booked this hotel for 02 nights. Experience was awful that I checked out after staying only one night. 1. Bed sheets were not available and on my request they provided a bed sheet which was not clean and I couldn't use it. 2. Lock of the door was broken & it was very unsafe I had to block the door using a chair. 3. Bathroom/Toilets were not cleaned at all. 4. Safety and security is very poor, rooms were smelly and not cleaned. They didn't refund even though I cancelled one night.

We had a room with fan and mosquitonet in the ground floor. Sadly often those rooms have a problem with mould fungus, here as well. The bed was clammy and the linen were not nice and clean. Anyway the staff was very nice and maybe the upstair rooms are nicer. The price was okay for the standard, but i would expect a nice linen and dry bed where it feels good to sleep. All in all a nice place for a few days, but take with the rooms.

We had a really nice stay here. Spacious and clean room and a lovely garden and a nice little pool. We just needed 2 days to relax in the end of our trip in Sri Lanka, and this was perfect. The location is a bit from town but you can use the bicycles and easily go to restaurants, the centre, the beach and temples. We enjoyed this! The host is also great and we enjoyed the chats with him - thanks for a really nice stay.
