"I have stayed at many hotels in Chiang Mai on business trips. This one was by far the best in the downtown area near the Night Bazaar. For me, location is very important in Chiang Mai. This is the best hotel in the location if you want luxury at a good value. The food here was very good also. This was our first time taking young children with us to Chiang Mai. The staff were very friendly and helpful with the children who were ages 1 and 3. We will definitely come back to the Centara. We love Chiang Mai."

"we live in dubai but we travel to chiang mai at least once a month as our children study in boarding school in chiang mai. we stay in many many highend places in chiang mai which were really nice and pricey. after we found "lotus pang suan kaew chiang mai" and stay here, it's just right about the location, safety, service and the hotel offer all guests free pick up from chiang mai airport too! we went back ther more than 7 times already since march 2011 and we booked the rooms with "agoda.com" only because so far this website is the best price and the best promotion (free room upgrade) compared to the others. i can pay 3 rooms per night as equal price as one night only @ the hotels i stay in chiang mai before. our family from uk also love this place, it's look gorgeous when you take pictures. "Stay with Nimman was the best hotel we stayed at throughout our travels around Thailand. The price was amazing for such a great quality place. Everything in our room, from the sheets to the bathroom, was spotless. And free minibar and waters? Yes! It is a bit of a walk to old town, but it is easy to take one of those red trucks. Also, there is a lot to do around Stay with Nimman as it is a more modern growing location. A must try in Chiang Mai is khao soi noodles!"

"This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed here. The 1st time was 5 years ago and I loved the place. This 2nd time didn’t disappoint. Lovely room, good food and an army of friendly staff. The breakfast buffet has much variety, catering for all tastes and there are many staff on watch to top up your coffee. The Lobby tourist information desk is helpful. It is 10 minutes’ walk to the Night Markets however, they have become overpriced with limited variety of goods. However, this is the best location nearby for a wide range of mid to higher priced cafes, restaurants and bars. Without these markets (starting at 6 pm) the nearby eating, drinking and shopping options are limited. Chiang Mai is a large city where tourist attractions are spaced a long way apart. There is not really a central Chiang Mai location for a hotel. There are plenty of transport options from the Empress. The airport is some 20 minutes’ drive away, costing around 160 THB by taxi. Chiang Mai has a very broad variety of attractions and a range of organised tours are available. Such tours usually include visits to wildlife and adventure activities plus jewellery and craft stores. The craft and artistry in Chiang Mai are amazing and worth seeing but can be expensive to buy. The taxi driver from the airport gave his business card, offering pre-arranged tours or a full daytime charter costing 2000 THB where you chose where you go or not go. I chose to focus on the religious, cultural and historical attractions. Visiting only these attractions took 2 full days and the driver visited many wonderful modern and ancient places. Before, I did not know that Chiang Mai had such a rich ancient history, ruins and similar attractions. These are not that well promoted as wildlife, adventure and crafts seem to have the best publicity. Sadly the Chiang Mai Zoo, which was amazing before, has gone down badly and is obviously struggling. The big drought in Thailand is not helping matters. After the disappointment of the Chiang Mai"

"This hotel is my favourite hotel in Chiang Mai. Every time I visit Chiang Mai I prefer to stay here. It has the best location n that is one of the reason that if yoiu do not book well in time its hard to get a room. Nice spacious rooms n bath room. I always enjoyed the breakfast. The location is good one close to many attractions. I would recommend it to all travells whether solo or with family to stay here. "

"I was really well looked after here. I arrived late and needed something to eat. The staff kept the kitchen open to look after me. I cannot praise the staff enough. The service exceeded my expectation every time. You will find the hotel is a distance from Chiang Mai city but jump in a Tuk Tuk and you can go anywhere quickly. The rooms are nice and clean and, importantly, quiet. I would recommend this hotel to anyone"

" Literally the best hostel I have stayed in Chiang Mai , location is great very close to everything literally !! The hostel was so clean from the toilets to the rooms as the staff were always cleaning. It feels Like an apartment the people around staying was also very nice People and respectfully. You have a space to relax outside your room it’s like a living room with tv and chairs. The toilets were literally the best and comes with hairdryers and shower gel. The reception staff was so lovely and she’s made our stay the best she’s also very funny. Also there’s another lady in the information area in the hostel where you can book activities and she will show you genuine prices both lovely ladies. Can’t wait to be back again when back in Chiang mai!!! "

"Chiang Mai Orchid is one of the oldest big hotel in the city. Its location is convenient for me who has business to do with Chiang Mai University but for most tourists, it might be more convenient to stay over the Nimanhemin Road for your night shopping/dining. Although the room and facility look a little too aged, the hotel is very big and they have pretty much most things we need....it is just not in the most stylish way as many other smaller boutique hotels in Chiang Mai will offer. But the hotel restaurant offered a very nice local food in a very reasonable price. The breakfast buffet was also nice. In conclusion, although this place might be old and does not offer the fancy look to the visitor, it is clean and convenient."
