Traveler impressions of Khanom (Nakhon Si Thammarat)
Khanom area is beautiful.........lovely beaches and peace and quiet. Some great restaurants around. The town is worth a visit to see all the colourful fishing boats and the local culture.
Khanom may be not popular as much as Samui and Phuket but there are a few places and activities which a family with kids can enjoy together.
Nakhon Srithammarat has unspoied naturalenvirontment with rich of history and cultural tourist places.
สิ่งที่ประทับใจในการมาเที่ยวขนอมคือ การได้ไปชมปลาโลมาสีชมพู ซึ่งสามารถพบได้แทบทุกทริป และใกล้เรือมาก ๆ
they make claim to the pink Dolphins but the Dolphins are nearer to Don Sak than Khanom, a boat trip to see the Dolphins will cost you 1000 THB/boat and will last about 2 hrs, TIP: buy some small fish to feed the Dolphins so you have a better chance to see them, we were not told about this and therefore didn't see much of them.
Khanom is perhaps my favourite beach destination in Thailand. A long, 8km stretch of golden sand, shallow warm seas, and precious little development, combine to offer a taste of what Thailand was like 20 years ago.
The town isn't so big yet having your own mode of transportation is a plus as there aren't so much public vehicles at the resorts/beaches.

The beaches of Khanom are some of the most unspoiled attractions in the country, and the perfect antidote to the famous and overcrowded party beaches of other cities. Once in Khanom, don’t miss a chance to spend long, uninterrupted hours sunbathing or swimming at the beach, and with choices such as Hua Thanon Beach, Nai Phlao Beach, and Kho Khao Beach being so easily accessible, the possibilities of finding a quiet corner of soft sand and clear waters are nearly endless.
