"The hotel grounds are very large. Our bungalow was high up on the hill and it was quite a trek to the beach. We did not mind this as we had just spent a couple of days on Koh Tao where the bungalow was right on the beach. The water is much nicer (more clear) in Koh Tao so we were fine with spending less money at our hotel in Koh Samui even if it meant we were further from the water. The pools are very nice at this hotel. We spent several hours at the pool overlooking the beach and Gulf. We did swim in the pool but we did not swin in the Gulf. Breakfast was very nice. If you want to go into town where the action is you will need to take a shuttle or taxi. We were happy to stay away from the crowds but if you like to be at the center of things you may want a hotel closer to town. If you like to hang out at a nice pool and look at beautiful scenery without the crowds this is a good hotel. We were happy that we spent two days in Koh Tao and two days in Koh Samui as the vibes are very different (Koh Tao is better if you love nature and don't mind rustic). "

"Ok. The first time I visited Thailand, I stayed in Lub D Phuket. They set the gold standard and I was highly impressed and happy with the facilities, overall value and staff. Job well done! I am now a Lub D fan and always look for their accommodations first. This year, I head over to Koh Samui and book Lub D on Chaweng Beach. I was blown away. Bravo! I always love the staff from security, room cleaners, reception to the kitchen and ones that were just roaming around and socializing with the guest to make them feel more comfortable! Excellent job! The condition of the room, location was excellent, if not awesome. Highly recommended. It is situated next to all popular areas and it is literally a few inches away from the beach. You can literally trip off the sunbathing deck and fall into the beautiful blue water! 5 stars! Cheers!"

"We went in a standard room on the little mermaid side. It does its job for a cheap night in a bungalow before heading to the airport in the early morning or arriving late and taking the boat the next day. Staff is excellent, you have access to a pool and you can find restaurants and bars on the road. The bungalow is off the road so you don’t hear the traffic but you shouldn’t be afraid of planes flying really low. It starts at 6am, a good alarm not to miss your own flight. We choosed this place to 2 times we travelled by Koh Samui. "

"I was travelling for two weeks from Egypt back to Malaysia and decided to have a 3-nights retreat/stopover in Koh Samui. I picked Ibis Bophut as I'm already familiar of their standard rooms - so no surprise or high expectations. I like the room the way it was, clean, compact, efficient and it was very comfortable for me. What I like about Ibis Bophut is that it felt like a mini-resort, with a garden path in the center that lead to swimming pools, restaurant and bar, and to the beach. The beach was okay if you like to sunbathe, rather quiet and peaceful (compared to popular beaches with too many peddlers). The water was clean but muddy at the bottom. There's free wifi at the Beach Bar. Staff was very friendly. The food was acceptable and reasonably priced. Being Asian, I didn't think their Asian food served was the best but perhaps it was to suit Westerner's taste (non-spicy etc). The Western food was great. There was a shuttle (U pay 50 baht per pax) to the famous Chaweng Beach. Overall, if you just want to retreat away from hustle bustle of nightlife etc without breaking the bank, Ibis Bophut is quite a good choice."

"Celes is a beautiful resort. New, modern, with a great design, we just didn't want to leave. The pool is gorgeous, just like in the pictures and it was wonderful and relaxing to spend the days between bathing in the sea and pool. The hotel has a nice gym and a library that i used to pick 2 books and read during our stay. The breakfast is very good too. The only negative aspect about the hotel was that the prices of restaurant and spa are too high and there is no activities/ animation after 7pm. But these are minor points because in 15min walking we can find very nice restaurants in fisher man village which was my favorite town in the island. There is even a night market at mondays wednesdays and fridays very clean with great cheap food. There are also 2 or 3 places to eat in the beach just next to celes and many spas with great massages with reasonable prices. We loved our stay and realy recommend celes and fishermam village for a great relaxing stay in koh samui."

"I booked the superior room garden view, but I then changed for the superior room sea view. Let me tell you guys that I woke up in Paradise. The receptionist gave me the best room that the hotel has to offer. I am on the last floor of the hotel resort and I absolutely love it so far so good. The staff here ... nothing to say, lovely, kind, caring, always there to respond if you need anything. They just want to make sure that you will remember your stay in Thailand as the best one and I traveled a lot already but I am ... so in love with Koh Samui. "

"We booked this hotel based on past best western experiences and the positive reviews from fellow travelers. This is a wonderful hotel we would definitely come back to should we visit Koh Samui again. The staff is very courteous, warm, and friendly. The free shuttles were always on time to take us to the two beaches. Although we had to take a taxi or tuk tuk back to the hotel in the evenings, we enjoyed the experience of riding a tuk tuk. Great breakfast. we had a deluxe ocean view room and it was wonderful. we had the best view on the island, also easy access to the pools. it was just the best place to be for x'mas. although we didn't join the big parties on the beach because we have young children who have early bed time, we still shared in the fun from our balcony, listening to the music and watching lanterns flying up the sky... it was beautiful and romantic. we are pretty sure the party went on all night, but we still had a great sleep because it was so quiet in the room still. just a nice hotel all around and excellent value."
