"This will be my 'go to' hotel in Lucca. Situated adjacent to the old city remparts and gate, it occupies an ideal location for a gentle stroll around the shops, many cafés and restaurants, or an exploration of the city's rich cultural heritage. Besides all the attributes of a top standard hotel, a very friendly professional welcome and support, an elegant décor, the huge breakfast selection with cooked food and amazing regional cakes, I must mention the all day complementary snacking table available to the guests... Arriving after a few hours travelling and being shown to the tantalising display of food and drinks - including alcoholic drinks - provided an instant sense of comfort and relaxation... A couple of glasses of Prosecco later, I felt renewed and ready to charge up the remparts for a last glimpse of the setting sun and discover this marvellous town! I was offered the use of a bicycle at no extra charge but felt safer on two feet! I will have to try this another time..."

"We stayed for two nights whilst traveling around Northern Italy. Lovely place to stay if you want to visit Pisa too. Only took us 20 minutes to drive to Pisa & visit the leaning tower, so we arrived before all the tours and didn't have to queue. Hotel very clean with free car park & excellent free Wii Fi. Short 15 minute walk into Lucca which is very pretty, but we enjoyed borrowing the hotels free bikes & cycling into the town and around the walls. "

"The town of Lucca was close by and the staff were most helpful with what to see and where to park the car so as to enter the centre of Lucca. This help made our visit to Lucca most enjoyable. Upon departure, the gentleman at the desk suggested we might want to stop at Monteriggioni on our way to Sienna. This was a delightful castle to visit, which we would not have stopped at had we not had the suggestion. Thankyou to all staff at La Principessa, nothing was too much touble!"
