Where to stay in Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu hotels & accommodations

I would love to give a review, since the hotel came recommended to us. But a few days before we arrived, they notified us that they were overbooked and bumped us to another hotel, which was mediocre at best. Very disappointed, particularly since we thought we had 4 guaranteed rooms.

macchu picchu town is very small but this hotel is in good location near the buses up to the main event. staff here were very helpful after an initial mishap where they did not pick us up at the train station (this was pre-arranged). Rooms and facilities were good - we ate at the hotel too and it was good

We are group of three, stayed only one night here during visit Machu Picchu site. It was lovely hotel, only one room of 3 single beds they have good there. On the 4th floor, balcony watching out to the Urubamba river, such a lovely view. The girl, reception was really helpful, she is the best in this job. Looking after us so well. We've planed to go out for dinner, s...

It was a long walk from the train station to the hotel with all our luggage, but it was worth it. The rooms were cozy and beautifully appointed. The wifi was reliable, and the breakfast was nice. It was great to relax there before and after a long day touring Machu Picchu.

My room was right by the train. So every time it went by - it was load and clear. So sleep was near impossible. The bathrooms needed maintenance. The woman who was suppose to be at the front desk didn't come till after 4am. And breakfast which was suppose to be served at 4:30am wasn't till almost 4:50. And anyone who wants to get to Machu Picchu on the early side knows...

We we greeted at the train station and walked to the hotel. They held our bags as we went to Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu all day. It was a long day, so it was very nice to stay in Aguas Calientes for the night and rest. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful. They serve an excellent breakfast in the morning. We really enjoyed it!

This is a brand new hotel built less than one year ago. The rooms are spacious, clean and well furnished and the guys who run it are simply lovely. I strongly recommend it, even if it is a bit distant from the bus station compared to other hotels. Great value for money. Don’t miss it.

I chose this hotel because It was close to the Machu Picchu Train station, the bus station and it's right by the river, which was very soothing at the end of the day. It's clean, modern and has a high water pressure and hot water. However, it's definitely NOT value for money if you're looking for a bargain. NO coffee maker or tea kettle in the room. Bathroom is very...

It is just 2 minute walk from the bus station to Machu Picchu. Room is small but you have everything you need inside the dorm (hot shower!, toilet and locker) Breakfast is basic but early so that you can catch the bus to the MP. Staff is friendly and helpful.

It was very pleasant to stay here. Room w/ very comfy bed and one of the best hot shower we had in Peru! The owner is very nice and welcoming (got tea/ coffee, advices to go to Macchu Picchu) and we even got hot shower before taking our train. We hardly recommend!

I stayed two nights in the hotel, which was not a good decision. My room was not cleaned and the hotel is really noisy. The kids of the ownes are playing in the hotel reception and running stairs up and down. If you want to visit Machu Picchu early, you want to get a bit sleep. For the price which they charge the hotel is much to expensive.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are simple but clean and everything worked. This hotel like so many others in this jumping off spot to Machu Picchu is located adjacent to the busy train station. The trains don't run all night but it is busy during the day. We wanted to get to Machu Picchu early and were able to have a coffee and something to eat...

Tayta Hostel is a great place if you're looking for somewhere affordable to stay in Machu Picchu. Smacked right in the Machu Picchu village, everything is just a walk away. My experience in Tayta was considerably good, the only problem that we had was that the toilet flush was not functioning properly but they fixed it immediately after complaining. Staff of Tayta H...

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff went out of their ways to help us! they had also helped us to get bus tickets to go to Machu Picchu and the bus actually had a stop at this hotel which saves u a lot of time in the morning, it couldn't be easier! Food was great, rooms are not luxurious but nice/clean/sufficient, really appreciated the staff who recogn...

i like this hotel as budget friendly and yet clean and cozy. i love this place. breakfast was nice and served early enough to have before going to machu picchu, which you need to go early depending on your ticket type. the only one and big concern was that the windows of my room facing street had no locks. i felt unsecure as my room was 2nd floor and the street wa...

Excellent stay at Casa Andina Class MP hotel. Location was good, right opp the train station. Do ask for rooms facing the water and not facing the train track. 8am-8pm you will hear train horns every 2 hours. Other than that good hotel and value for money.

The room was comfortable and clean. I loved the location the most as it was really close to the start point to hike up to Machu Picchu from the town. It is still close enough to the restaurants and shops nearby, and also the tourist center and bus station. It was easy to find from the train station as well. Staff were helpful and gave good recommendations for restaura...

Unless you want to spend $400 a night for Hilton/Hyatt level accommodations there are plenty of lower priced options in Aguas Calientes. As a family of four I had challenges finding a room for all of us. Home Like Home has a family room that was perfect. Two rooms each with own bath. One room with two twin beds and the other a double bed. Rooms and bathrooms were clean...

A bit farther up than every other hotel it's worth the trek because it's beautiful and not in the hubbub that can be loud in this touristy pueblo before heading off to MachuPicchu. A bit weird that breakfast was not included, and then when we did purchase it was just untoasted bread and a tiny bit of cold coffee that barely constituted one mug. But the hotel itself was...

The hotel was very basic but good for one night, though a bit cold. The TV didn't work. There was hot water and shower was fine. Staff were friendly and let us store our things there while we were st Machu Picchu. Overall good for the money in a place like aguas calientes.

Real reviews for hotels
the site Machu Picchu should be a must see and should be the ignition button to visit Peru; good transportation by bus; good infrastructure; knowledgeable guides; even in the low season (and according to local insiders, less visitors this year) the site is overcrowded and with this amount of visitors will have to consider slowing down the overcrowding for not killing the goose with the golden egg by inflicting damage to the heritage; a marvel.
machu pichu is an important historical and cultural site and the number one place of interest i wished to see in my lifetime
