Traveling to Peru? Find Machu Picchu hotels

I would love to give a review, since the hotel came recommended to us. But a few days before we arrived, they notified us that they were overbooked and bumped us to another hotel, which was mediocre at best. Very disappointed, particularly since we thought we had 4 guaranteed rooms.

macchu picchu town is very small but this hotel is in good location near the buses up to the main event. staff here were very helpful after an initial mishap where they did not pick us up at the train station (this was pre-arranged). The hotel is near to bus and train station. The staff spoke English well and offered many suggestions. The room is large and clean. Exceptional breakfast is provided.

Location was great for Machu Picchu pick up. Hotel is unique. Lots of climbing to get to rooms. Service, however, was excellent. Rooms were considered less then par and cabin like. Lots of mosquitos in one room and had to switch to another.

It was a long walk from the train station to the hotel with all our luggage, but it was worth it. The rooms were cozy and beautifully appointed. The wifi was reliable, and the breakfast was nice. It was great to relax there before and after a long day touring Machu Picchu.

My room was right by the train. So every time it went by - it was load and clear. So sleep was near impossible. The bathrooms needed maintenance. The woman who was suppose to be at the front desk didn't come till after 4am. And breakfast which was suppose to be served at 4:30am wasn't till almost 4:50. And anyone who wants to get to Machu Picchu on the early side knows...

We we greeted at the train station and walked to the hotel. They held our bags as we went to Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu all day. It was a long day, so it was very nice to stay in Aguas Calientes for the night and rest. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful. They serve an excellent breakfast in the morning. We really enjoyed it!

This is a brand new hotel built less than one year ago. The rooms are spacious, clean and well furnished and the guys who run it are simply lovely. I strongly recommend it, even if it is a bit distant from the bus station compared to other hotels. Great value for money. Don’t miss it.

I chose this hotel because It was close to the Machu Picchu Train station, the bus station and it's right by the river, which was very soothing at the end of the day. It is just 2 minute walk from the bus station to Machu Picchu. Room is small but you have everything you need inside the dorm (hot shower!, toilet and locker) Breakfast is basic but early so that you can catch the bus to the MP. Staff is friendly and helpful.

It was very pleasant to stay here. Room w/ very comfy bed and one of the best hot shower we had in Peru! The owner is very nice and welcoming (got tea/ coffee, advices to go to Macchu Picchu) and we even got hot shower before taking our train. We hardly recommend!

I stayed two nights in the hotel, which was not a good decision. My room was not cleaned and the hotel is really noisy. The kids of the ownes are playing in the hotel reception and running stairs up and down. If you want to visit Machu Picchu early, you want to get a bit sleep. For the price which they charge the hotel is much to expensive.

Nice hotel, convenient to the Peru Rail and Inka Rail train station in Aguas Calientes. The shuttle bus departure location to Machu Picchu is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

The nicest, most helpful staff you could ever wish to meet. Great breakfast, quiet location.

Excellent stay at Casa Andina Class MP hotel. Location was good, right opp the train station. Do ask for rooms facing the water and not facing the train track. 8am-8pm you will hear train horns every 2 hours. Other than that good hotel and value for money.

Unless you want to spend $400 a night for Hilton/Hyatt level accommodations there are plenty of lower priced options in Aguas Calientes. As a family of four I had challenges finding a room for all of us. Home Like Home has a family room that was perfect. Two rooms each with own bath. The balcony is a plus. Rooms are adequate and well equipped for a 1-night stay on the way to/from Machu Picchu. Breakfast offering could be a bit improved.

the staff will pick up on railway station..location is great near railway and machu picchu bus stop. the staff do not speak english but he is very helpful and kind. nice and big room have the mountain view...no lift no toiletries no hair dryer.

The hotel was very basic but good for one night, though a bit cold. The TV didn't work. There was hot water and shower was fine. Staff were friendly and let us store our things there while we were st Machu Picchu. Overall good for the money in a place like aguas calientes.
