Traveling to Taiwan? Find Miaoli hotels

I have been staying this hotel whenever I passed by Miaoli, it is next to a Mega shopping Mall which you can get nearly all stuffs from clothes to daily amenities; there is also a huge supermarket not far away from it, around 5 minutes walk, it has 3 stories like Tesco, I can spend whole day just shopping! The Hotel room is huge and nicely decorated, and the staffs are overall very attentive.

the hotel is located quite a distance from the train station and nearest market. there are not much food to choose from after dinner, especially for taiwan which is known for their night markets. the facilities are very much comparable to a 5 star hotel and the breakfast offered is very tasty. the room is rather clean and spacious for 3 people. it offers us free transport to the nearest train station on or departure date. the stay was very enjoyable.

Only transport from Miaoli HSR is via cab at NT$1,000 takes about an hour. Buffet dinner not really worth NT$880/pax. First restaurant across the bridge is a better alternative with set meal at NT$400/pax. Each room has Jacuzzi with a nice view. But still not used to having the WC in the middle of the room without doors. Nice outdoor spa with complimentary pomelo tea. Day trip to other parts of Miaoli cost about NT$1,600/pax can be booked in hotel. Overall it is a good experience to enjoy nice architecture & spa at remote area. Will recommend maximum 3 days, nothing much to do at night.

Really like this hotel, the staff are very friendly from front desk, restaurant staff and even the housekeeper. It is not a big hotel just 15 to 16 rooms thus it is not noisy but very personal touch. The room is very clean and spacious, all details are well taken care. The restaurant served good foods, like the hand made bread, really fresh. German pig knuckles must try and the seafood hotspot is nice too. The environment is really quiet and peaceful. Thanks Ms Liu the front desk manager who have given us many good recommendations to eat and to visit. Strongly recommended to stay here for those travelling to miaoli.

We stayed here 3 nights in early March and were overall impressed. Our young children enjoyed making their own chocolate, feeding the fish and black swans at their pond and picking strawberries at a farm behind the resort. Breakfast (included) is western style (sandwiches, pizza, eggs w/ chicken drums etc). They all come with salad and sliced fruits. You don't get to select what to eat but they're all delicious with good portions. We had afternoon tea and dinner there and both were good, although a bit expensive by Taiwan standards. Our 4-person room was surprisingly spacious, new and clean. Bottled water and chocolate were resupplied every day. One time they even folded our clothes that were lying around. I only wished that some of the younger staff, especially the food servers, were friendlier to their customers. In summary, we've enjoyed our stay and would recommend this resort.

It's an amazing place with hot springs both inside and outside hotel room - that was the main reason why we chose there. The resort is a bit far - about 45-50 min by taxi (about NT900)/hotel shuttle from the Miaoli station but it's worth the long drive. The resort is surrounded by mountains - well other resorts then mountains. You can really feel the peace and quiet there. Breakfast is complimentary and it's huge (congee with lots of small side dishes, bread, juice and coffee). Dinner is not (about NT500) - a bit pricey for Taiwan but with the many courses, I think it's worth it. The staff is really attentive and helpful. Overall, it's an amazing place.

Hotel is near to some of the popular attractions in Miaoli. Just minutes of walking distance away, you can find a supermarket, eateries, pharmacies etc. Hotel offers good facilities too - washing machine (free!), drying machine, children's indoor playground, some simple ride for the kids @ TWD10/ride! Room is big and clean. Staffs are helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!

Everytime guests leave or arrive, the receptionist will give a deep bow. That sums up the friendly attitude of the people here. They make you feel welcomed. When she saw me walk in the rain, she loaned me a umbrella without being asked. Great service. Drawbacks? My room had a cigarette smell. And the carpet could use a good cleaning. The heater does not seem to work as well. But overall I had a good night's stay here

Stayed for 1 night in quadruple room. The room was large and beds comfortable. Bath and toilet could do with updating. Didn’t like the toilet as it’s one of those that you can’t flush toilet paper down as it clogs easily. The farm was big and we had to walk quite far to get to the barn area (where the main activities take place). You can buy small packets of feed for the goats and ducklings for NT$10 each - lots of fun for the kids. There is a limited supply of milk for the calf feeding activity so be sure to get there early/on time. We had a bad experience with one of the farm staff who was super unfriendly when we took a photo of her feeding the baby goats in a public access area (not sure why?) - she demanded that we deleted the picture and turn off our phone. Do note also that the farm is not well lit at night so best to return to the eating area by dusk otherwise you will have to track back in the dark. Breakfast was forgettable. We had the hot pot for dinner which was tasty, but it seemed the place was short-staffed as there was only one restaurant staff doubling up as waiter, cashier and cleaning up the dishes. I left the with feeling that the farm staff are not well trained/don’t particularly enjoy their jobs nor have a service oriented attitude - and that shows. Overall a mixed experience.

I'm kinda in 2 minds about this hotel. For the price I paid, I wouldn't complain but if I had a chance, I might pay more to stay at a better hotel. Getting to the hotel is interesting. You had to walk across a bridge. The grounds looked a little unkempt and could do with a sprucing up. But it has it's old world charm. And I heard that the spa is the best as they have their own source/pipe as opposed to the other hotels that share a source/pipe. I'm not sure how much difference that would make. It was nice to soak in the spa on a cold day. Food was good. We ordered a hotpot that was so huge, it fed 2 adults and 3 young kids. Rice was free flow. Breakfast was the usual fare. Ample but nothing to crow about. All in all, nice place to stay but not really relaxing to me. Nothing to do with the hotel but I realised most spas I went to in Taiwan really needs to work on the bathing and changing facilities.

The hotel is located in a fantastic setting, commanding amazing views over the green hills and mountains, which you can enjoy from either the comfort of your room or any of the spa facilities on the premises. We've used both public spa and private rooftop jacuzzi and it was just perfect after a few days of exciting but tiresome exploration of Taiwan. The Chinese set menu dinner in the hotel restaurant was delicious. A very nice gentleman who took our pictures on the rooftop turned out to be the hotel owner, who later was so kind to invite us for a delicious set menu Chinese dinner:-) Our planned taxi option failed, so the next day the hotel arranged a taxi to take us to the Miaoli THSR station A very positive experience and we only wish we had more time to spend there!

Great service ! As we have to depart before the breakfast starts the next day, the owner actually packed us some breakfast to take away. Due to the location inconveniency, owner was gracious enough to offer to and fore free rides to the hotel from the city central thought its just 10min away. Very serene location with fresh air in the morning! very quiet and warm friendly town. Nanzhuang is a true country side from the buzz off the city street. Though the shared toilet was a concern previously but its just shared with another room. so 2 rooms to 1 toilet and 1 kitchen with a hall. But concern traded off with the great service of owner. booking during offpeak thus its a great value for money to us.

We booked 2 rooms (with 1 queen size bed). Room no.203 and 206. Check in on 5 Sept. We stayed one night. Location of the hotel is good near train and bus station and near the night market (Wed, Fri, Sat), staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is old but rooms were generally clean, hotel provided washing machine at the common area for guests, WiFi signal was good, TV had many channels to watch. However, we believe that room 206 has a notorious case of bed bugs. My mother was bitten severely, with horrendous red spots all over her legs. My father was a bit luckier, perhaps protected by long pants. It was a very uncomfortable night sleeping for my mother and the bug bites certainly has not subsided even days later.

The bed and breakfast was in a very beautiful location in the mountains. The room was large, but you could tell that it was either getting old, or not used very often as it had that dusty smell that comes with older places. The staff were very friendly but were sometimes hard to find. The breakfast was just a simple Chinese congee and was only open for one hour. Not much to choose from and only one pot of coffee was served which was lukewarm. The hotel was about 7 minutes by car from the town of Nanjhuang which had a lot of decent places to eat specializing in Hakka food. I would recommend this place as a stopover but not for a long stay.

We wanted to go to the Flying Cow Ranch, but the accommodations there was already full. This is probably the next closest accommodation to the Ranch. The place was spacious and the staff was friendly. If I had to nit-pick, it would be that the shops are about 10-15min away -- down a slope. So after you buy your stuff, you can get some exercise on the way back to your accom. But hey, the air there is crisp and fresh; the exercise will probably do you some good. lol

A good place to stay if you want to rest few days. It is quiet place and it is near a temple and the mountain xianshan where you can hike. If you want to go further, you will need a car. The owner and the staff are very nice and easy to approach if you need help. Very convenient if you want to lunch, you can eat at the restaurant of the guesthouse. Very cheap and good taste.
