Overall a very nice hotel, but a little pricy in comparison to other similar standard hotels elsewhere, maybe because of weekend stay. Its still the best hotel in Nagarkot though. Also, would've been better if the hot water shower was much hotter, as our stay was still within winter season (early Feb). Best part - staff were very friendly and attended to all our specific requests.

It was a rattling ride up to Nagarkot, and the rocky driveway to the hotel gave us pause. But once we got into our room, we were thrilled by the clear and vivid view of the Himalayas. This is why we came to Nepal: to be with the mountains. We arrived on a holiday (the Nepalese version of Deepavali), and the hotel was short-staffed, but the man who helped us was excellent, and we felt at home. Breakfasts on the hotel's broad terrace gave us an even broader view than from our own room. There are two floors of three rooms each below the terrace. We had "Sunrise Top," the easterly room on the top floor. Ask for it. When staffed, the restaurant is good. And the breakfasts, although not a buffet, were well prepared and adequate. We took a walk from Nagarkot village along the "nature trail." It took a bit longer than we expected, around 2.5+ hours, but gave a good feeling of the forest there.

We had an amazing time in The Fort Resort. We just went for 1 night to enjoy the beautiful views of Himalaya in the end of our Nepal trip and we wanted to stay more. The hotel has a unique architecture (feels like you travel in time) and has the best location in Nagarkot, sited on the top of the hill, surrounded by beautiful gardens where you can just enjoy a cap of tea, read an interesting book from the hotel's library, and enjoy the mountain views together with the eagles. The staff was most welcoming and friendly and the food delicious. The room was spacious, with a small living room, large-clean bathroom, and the bedroom had large windows from where you could see the mountains! We will never forget that sunrise!!!

This is our second time visit to the Hotel at the End of the Universe. The early morning view of the Mount Everest from the hotel lobby was awesome. Excellent location and cottages to hang out with friends. We enjoyed a lot. The cool breeze and the sound of sweetly swinging tree leaves was really peaceful. Last year the experience was good also. They renovated the hotel after the earthquake. Very nice cottages. Both the 2 rooms were nice and warm. But our toilet flusher was not working which was really frustrating. Room price was low but the food price was comparatively very high (had to pay almost 25% extra tax + service charges). Still I will highly recommend this hotel to visit. It is a good hotel to hangout with friends. Day time there is nothing to do in Nagarkot. If you are planning for one night stay at Nagarkot then this is the best place to stay.

You'll find Hotel Chautari after a winding and bumpy journey up the mountain from the Kathmandu valley. If you've not prepared for the infrastructure, or lack of it, it may come as a surprise. Nagarkot has been developed from a hilltop hamlet into a a series of hotels along the mountain pass, but there is little else. The hotel itself is lovely: fantastic location and beautiful surroundings, it really is a great retreat. However, aside from the hotel and others nearby, you'll not find much else to do other than relax with a good book, drink in the view or possibly venture out for a hike. The staff, as with all in Nepal, are extremely polite, helpful and friendly; the environment is peaceful and serene. On our first night we were pleasantly surprised to find that reception provide reminder calls to the rooms for both breakfast and dinner - we later realised that this was essential, as once the kitchen closes at night, there are no alternatives nearby for food and drink. Most rooms have large French doors and a balcony, to enjoy the Himalayan view. As with everywhere in Nepal, power can be intermittent, so use of the wi-fi and air-con is not guaranteed. The bathroom also lacked comfort, and at times, warm water. Despite that, it is a worthy journey, away from the heat and pollution of Kathmandu, a wonderful place to watch the sunrise over the Himalayas.

The owner of the "B&B Nagarkot" is definitely the kindest hotelowner I have ever met. He and his family made me feel welcome at all time of my stay. His sister offered me tea or coffee when I arrived and everyone was smiling all day. The room was clean and I was surprised that I even had a balcony. The toilet and the shower was very modern even if it smelled a bit, but welcome to asia! I had a very thick cover for the night so it didn't get cold. The owner also showed me a second hotel of his self that will open in about two or three month. The name is "Peaceful cottage" and it's at the very top of Nagarkot. You will have an amazing view if you go there! At the end I can say I had an amazing stay and if I come back to Nagarkot I will definitely go in the B&B or the peaceful cottage. I can really recommend this hotel!

I initially booked a different date for my trip to Nagarkot. Mohan, the owner, is kind enough to allow me to change my booking. I only stayed here for 2d/1n but it was all worth the experience. They also arrange transport from/to airport. I did sunrise and the view was simply breathtaking. I walk from the tower back to the hotel and I enjoyed it a lot. Even the sunset was amazing! Beautiful garden, I love the flowers. The location is so peaceful, the rooms are clean. I have a wonderful sleep. I became friends with Mohan even after I left Nepal.

the garden was cozy and nice but the location was really something like soso. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the top to get the view of sunrise. The worst thing was that there was no hot water for shower! the warm water flow was definitely not enough for taking a shower, except that u want to catch a cough... The rooms get freezing during the night and u can barely leave the bed.

We stayed all over NEPAL and have travelled extensively in Asia and elsewhere. This hotel was the most expensive we stayed at $41+tax. Hotel is located in a prime spot in Nagarkot with awesome Himalaya views (on the clear days!) -a 'mock-chalet' style affair catering for primarily (90-95%+) Japanese day tours. We got room 115 - huge with Western bathrom/hot water seating area 3 beds (all hard nepalese) - enormous patio overlooking Himalayas. In Febrary nights are cold - extra blankets/duvets and heater were supplied. Power cuts were very frequent and wifi (reception area only) was then unavailable (even though Cheap Eateries in Nagarkot Continued to offer WIFI during the same power cut!!!). Buffet dinner (550Rp) was luke warm and again focused on Japanese tastes.. though they did not appear too happy with it! Breakfast was also Japanses style - cold noodle soup/cold toast etc... We ate hot fresh food and drinks at Himalayan Heart down in Nagarkot at less than Half this price! Management is non-existent - Manager just floats about.The unfortunate staff are not coached and left alone to do their best - they do try.. but Hotel needs a proper Hotel Manager who understand Western expectations at these prices. I assume Day-Trip Japanese (aged 40-70+) often do NOT review this hotel as it is a package deal. IF you can walk in and get a room deal then try it!

It was pouring down with rain when we arrived, but the staff lifted up our morale with a welcome cup of tea and an electric heater. The weather cleared over the night, and the stars were amazing. The sunrise was pure magic, with a fantastic view from our private balcony over the Himalaya chain. Breakfast was good although very slow. The trail path is close by, an easy walk rewarded by another vision of the mountains. The bus station to KTM and Bhaktapur is a ten minutes walk.

Excellent view, one of the best in that area. If you were to book, be sure to book either this or the Himalaya beside it, as they provide unblocked view of the sunrise. As for the rooms, those living in the city may not be able to get used to the room as it's very country style. Very simple room and toilet. The towels look dirty and so we used our own. Power blackouts takes about 5 mins for the generator to come back on. Shower is good, with hot water and good water pressure. Staff is very friendly. But avoid dining there, soup is bland and you can hear the cook in the kitchen clearing his phlegm and spitting all the time.

Friendly staff, big room with hot water shower and great views. Downstairs rooms can be a bit noisy if rooms above are full due to wooden floors. Otherwise a lovely peaceful area located out of town. Plenty of walking/ hiking tracks. Breakfast is adequate and restaurant/deck area is relaxing to enjoy views. Friendly staff who can arrange transport, treking etc. We booked 4 nights and stayed 18 nights! We did have own motorbike so were able to explore all the surrounding areas even though most roads are not sealed.
