Pisa hotels & places to stay

Hotel location is excellent base for visiting both Pisa and the surrounding area. If you are flying into Pisa, €1.30 per person on the bus to the main train station then a short walk to, then under the station and you emerge outside across the road from the hotel. Easy walking distance to the main tourist attractions. The area is busy and we felt at ease walking to/from the hotel both daytime and in the evening. Hotel is clean and modern and the staff were nice and all spoke reasonable to good English. The only complaint about the hotel was the temperature... the room was very hot at night (it was February and we had to keep the windows open!) However, this may just have been our bad luck with 'dodgy' air-con in our room. Breakfast in the morning was fresh, there is a good choice of items however the only hot food is scrambled egg and bacon. Having stayed in many hotels in Italy, my expectations of a 4* hotel are not as high as in other areas in Europe. Some travellers may find this hotel more in line with a Holiday Inn Express (UK) style of hotel. Checkout was well timed at 12 - however we didn't know to expect the 'City Tax' on departure. However, only €12 for 4 nights so not too much but was unexpected. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

A pleasant hotel just outside the city of Pisa, the Accademia Palace is very near the Airport. Good sized rooms. Overall an excellent value for money and the staff was friendly with good service. A good sized outdoor swimming pool, which was very nice on the hot summer days in the Chianti region TV with BBC and CNN English programming. WIFI internet is available in room for more than one computer if necessary, free. Free parking is also available provided. We would definitely stay again.

We were looking for a one night stay at a decent hotel for a good price and AC Pisa Hotel fits the bill. Its around 5-10 minute drive from Pisa centre. The hotel is new and nicely furbished. The rooms are small but sufficient. The bathtub is oddly big for the size of the room though! Not a bad thing. However, food was slightly pricey and there's not much options surrounding the hotel.

Hotel entrance was in an alley that had several dodgy people hanging around outside. Otherwise, hotel was nice and we enjoyed our stay (once inside!) It's true though that you can finish Pisa in less than a day! We only stayed in Pisa because we wanted to make a side trip to Cinque Terre (which was beautiful). We also encountered a trenitalia strike while we were in Pisa - thank goodness connectivity to Florence was still manageable.

We visited Pisa in Feb2013 on a Holiday and found this Hotel as one of the most convenient Hotels to stay. We took high-speed Train from Rome Termini Station to Pisa Central Station (journey time 02.45 Hours) and arrived Pisa Central around 11am. This hotel is actually located just opposite the Pisa Central Station and we found the location is just perfect for the people who use the train to commute between cities. Hotel is a 03 star property, so we were not expecting too much to be perfect. The receptionist (the only person we saw in the hotel during our stay (apart from the housecleaning team) and she was very active in her responsibilities. She had our reservation details on top of her desk when we reached the property, so we didn’t spend lot of time there. We got our room on the 4th Floor. We couldn’t stop laughing when we saw the Hotel lift as we have never seeing such a small lift before. It was just enough for 02 people to use, so I had to come down twice to carry rest of the luggage (well, this is a 03 star anyway, so I am not complaining, rather sharing my experience only) Room is considerably smaller in size, however experienced a large and comfortable bed and an average size wash room with clean towels. Breakfast Area (located on the ground floor) reminded me of a hostel dining rooms, as it’s was a too small area with many tables connected to each other. There wasn’t many selections for the breakfast however the receptionist (who was serving at the breakfast area too) tried her best to keep the breakfast buffet filled with whatever they had in their menu. I saw all empty buffet table by 9.00am although they say the breakfast is served until 10 or 10.30am (So go early if you need some sort of breakfast). The famous Pisa leaning Tower can also be reached by Bus/Metro in few minutes. However we opted to walk, as it was receptionists’ suggestion to walk so thaen we could see the real neighborhood. It took less than 30 minutes walk.

We arrived at 11pm and the owner was happily waiting out the front for us! He was so kind and accommodatIng, he even gave us a big room at the same price. We even had to cancel the second night unfortunately and he did it all himself without charging anything! A lovely woman works in the morning and made us feel so at home, she waited up for ages for us to have breakfast and looked after us so happily. They gave us great information and Pisa was my favorite city. Just perfect

This small hotel is well appointed, with modern facilities and comfortable beds. Reception is efficient and friendly; rooms comfortable, light and airy; bathrooms well appointed with modern fittings. There is a small lift to the rooms. Breakfast is simple, but with good quality breads, meat, cheeses, fruit, cereal etc. Well positioned in the old town, roughly half way between the domo and the old town shops, restaurants and bars. A further 5 minutes gets you into the main shopping area and the train and bus stations. I recommend a rear facing room as the street can be noisy (especially on the night that Pisa FC get promoted to Seria B!)

Palazzo Cini was just lovely. Professional staff and modern, nice, clean areas. The room was perfect! It had everything you need, toothbrush, sewing kit, soap, shampoo, shower gel, hairdryer (a good one), an iron, minibar and a safe. We booked the one with balcony, you get the morningsun and it was very nice to sit outside sometimes. The location is very central and close to most shops and the shopping-street which is 5 min walk away. Even though it’s central it’s also very quiet at night. The room is very nice tempratured (cool) because of the AC. We slept very good and bed was great (very comfy and good pilliws). Overall high standard on everything. Breakfast was just lovely! Everyday we walked 2 min to this stylish and fresh café and got to choose our breakfast. Freshly made sanwiches, panini, foccacia, cakes, great coffee and service. The staff were so welcoming and very nice. We miss Palazzo Cini and Ars Café already. I highly recommend this place!

My stay is short as my intention was to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa after a day trip from Venice. The hotel is close by the Pisa Central Station. A nice surprise is that there is a halal restaurant selling Pakistani beriani rice/chicken and also kebab along the same road where the hotel is. Hotel serve a simple breakfast and that was good enough for the price of the room that we are paying. Although we have to share bathrooms that was not a problem.

Air conditioning and bed were good. Proximity to train station good. This is in a quiet neighborhood and getting off the train to walk here makes you question if you're lost. Checkout of 10 is too early. No lobby and not place to sit and wait inside if you are too early or waiting for your train. Generally a good room but unconventional. Closest to train and 20 minutes walk to Tower of Pisa, which is also good. Staff were not travelers, so didn't give good traveler advice. Overall, it was okay, but not great. Only grocery store nearby is a health food place, so limited choice. There are a couple restaurants so a one or two night stay would be okay. A bit too isolated for longer.
