Pompei hotels & places to stay

Very nice hotel, a shame the swimming pool was not operational but we are very early in the season. Unfortunate that on our last night (before a long drive to our next destination) the hotel was invaded by a coach load of extremely noisy and disrespectful 10 year olds on a school trip. This was not the fault of the hotel, but the teachers (or parents) in charge did nothing to stop these children from screaming and running amok through the hotel until 4am in the morning. They then all met loudly for breakfast at 6.30am. The hotel manager kindly gave us a partial refund for the trouble, which he did not have to do as this was no fault of his. We would book this hotel again if we return to Pompeii, but would check via email what groups were booked there first.

I recommend La Casa Di Plinio if you travel in Pompei. Room is very nice, clean and modern and I liked it a lot. Location is nice and it takes only 10 min from Pompei Scavi - Villa Dei Misteri station to the hostel and 5 min to Scavi di Pompei and also a big French supermarket chain by foot. The owners are very friendly and lovely, and they made my stay so relaxing and comfortable. Martina is a great cook and breakfast was fantastic and I enjoyed it every day during my stay (I didn't have such a lovely breakfast in Rome). Salvatore is full with many tourist information and knowledge on Italian histories so he can help you with getting information for Napoli as well. They also offer Vespa tour and I had a half-day tour from Pompei to Amalfi coast during my stay. It was really beautiful and I definitely recommend the tour too. It was bit chilly on the tour day and Martina was willing to let me put on her thick jacket and also offered some pasta for lunch when I came back from the tour. Their hospitality was amazing and I highly recommend their hostel!

Overall its a great place to stay. I think it's a family place and has that nice feel to it. The man who originally checked me in is extremely nice and caring and gives great help. However in the morning the staff at the reception kept yelling so much it kinda ruined my experience especially over breakfast. The room I stayed in was nice but would recommend they fix the heater in the room because it made a lot of noise so I had to turn it off. I would still recommend the hotel but just beware that some staff members are very noisy in the morning making it a little uncomfortable.

We spent a leisurely 4 days in Villa Flora Hotel. First of all, it is extremely conveniently located as it is less than a couple hundred metres from the main entrance of the Pompeii archaeological site, and the train station, and restaurants. Better still, the hotel is on the quieter side of the road turning into the Pompeii site and it is extremely well insulated from any outside noise. We stayed in a suite consisting of a large bedroom, large bathroom, and separate kitchen & dining area. The place is kept very clean. The very high ceiling gives it an airy and relaxed feel. The kitchen is not large, but it is functional. While there is no oven, it is still more than adequately equipped for some light cooking. During our stay the Wi-Fi connection only worked for a few hours on the first night. The owner was helpful, but could not get it working for the remainder of our stay. We used the hotel as a base to explore the Amailfi Coast, as it is only a 20 minute train ride from Pompeii to Sorrento. If we were to visit anywhere in that area again, Naples included, Villa Flora would be our first choice.

It is a clean and nice family hotel (though it is not sure if it can be categorized as a 3 stars hotel).We had a 3 bedrooms. The couple who run the hotel is very nice and very attent, especially during a breakfast time. The room is very ok for a night stay in Pompei, it is small, clean and has nice veranda to sit outside, though there is not much to see. There is no refrigerator in the room, but the toilette has bidet and hair dryer (more important for me). The location is around 10-15 minutes walking to one of the entrances of Pompei Excavation site (where the building looks a like collosseum). We can enjoy a view of modern Pompei with its nice small shops along the road on the way to the site.

We found ourselves 10 mins walk from the Pompei ruins, and within 5 mins walk of the train station. Perfect. If you have all day - don't worry about getting a guide (many of whom will jump out asking if you are 'going to Pompei?' and pointing with their finger in the opposite direction... which I must say stopped me in my tracks the first time) as there are signs indicating the entrance, and it is too big and vast to take it all in and retain it anyway.. If only able to do a couple of hours then yes, a guide will be invaluable to enhance the experience. Great hotel, would put my mother in this hotel and still be sure of a Christmas card...

The hotel is in a fantastic location near the gate to the Pompei ruins, there are many eateries to be found close by as well as some upmarket shops. There is also a amusement park nearby. The setting of the hotel amongst citrus trees and grape vines is beautiful and very relaxing. The breakfast is very good as are the nibbles at cocktail hour - a nice addition not often seen anymore.

The title says it all.... I would highly recommend this hotel to any travelers in the area. The staff was more than helpful and extremely friendly. The rooms are clean and useful so no worries on that end. The breakfast was a delight and the person tending to the breakfast (a woman) was very professional and friendly with both us and the kids! I highly recommend this hotel and would go back eyes closed! FANTASTC PLACE!!!!

the hotel is great. the room is spacious. had a jacuzzi bath room. so we really had a good bath. the only thing is that the hotel is very far from trains station. it is only nearest station pompei (trenitaly) and not the other train station. we walked 2km to get there from the other train line. the staff was nice to drive us to the train station next morning. nice service

I've stayed here many times already, it's really a decent place to stay. Staff speaks English and is very helpfull, the breakfast is good with daily fresh baked bread and a good ecup of coffee. Rooms are very clean and each room has quite a large balcony. From the hotel the centre of Pompeï is very near. When you are not into spending too much time in finding a restaurant you can go to the other side of the street where you'll find the hotel owned restaurant which serves good food.

The location is just the best! Opposit the entrance to Pompeii Archeological Site. The room we had was clean but we couldn't get the fridge to work we forgot to mentioned that to staff. Our room was just below the road so fairly noisy at night. Staff offered us a different room but we managed for the short time we were there. We would recommend this village as long as you don't expect a luxury hotel.

We could not fault the facilities, the level of individual service, time spent, and advise on all matters was above exemplary. I would recommend staying here to anyone. It is a short walk to the centre restaurants and bars and a 10-15 walk to the entrance of Pompei excavations, but we didn't mind that. We stayed for two nights, ate in a lovely restaurant one night and on the second had take out. Local shop prosecco 2.50 and ordered pizza as we had a large terrace with small table and a view of Vesuvius which you'd pay in a restaurant for. The breakfast was the usual Italian fair, with homemade cake - there was cake available with fruit all day. We would stay here again.

I found Domus Pompeii to be the ideal hotel for my visit to Pompei. The hotel is modern, exceptionally close to the metro, railroad station, shops, restaurants and Scavi di Pompei. The owner of the hotel keeps the facility impeccable. The room is large, has a balcony and excellent shower. I loved the hotel. It can easily be found on the street adjacent to Panis Pompeii, a very fine bakery. A small delivery vehicle will be parked in front of Panis Pompeii. You can’t miss it.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a three-nights' stay at Maria's 'Maison De Luxe'. The B&B would be very difficult to find for anybody looking for it without excellent directions, housed as it is in a rather unprepossesing block by the roadside, but we were picked up at the airport for a reasonable fee and that took all the concern out of making our own way from Naples Airport to Pompei. The room and the facilities at the Maison De Luxe were unifrmally excellent, with high-quality coffee and a kitchen and food always available, and a breakfast that was prodigiously generous where we were encouraged to take away food for our lunches! Maria and the staff were outstandingly friendly, helpful and gracious. The B&B is only a short walk from the ruins, and very close to the main Pompei station. An excellent, relaxing and enjoyable stay, this is a little gem of a place!
