Port Vila hotels & accommodations

Very nice rooms with patio and AC (which is a rarity in Vanuatu) good TV reception, excellent WiFi on patio (but not in room) kitchenette is well equipped with big size fridge. Fancy WC. Outside room there's a self serve laundry. My drier kept tumbling for 3h (never seen before) and yet my clothes was still wet. Restaurant is excellent with good chef. A bit away from P...

We enjoyed a very agreeable week based in the Melanesian. It's a walk to the centre of Port Vila and the main beaches. Ferry trips to beautiful resort islands easily accessible. People extremely friendly and helpful in Port Vila and round the island. If visiting Port Vila for work or holiday the location is very convenient. The room was comfortable and spacious, i...

Absolutely loved our stay in Coco Beach. Such a beautiful location, even though it’s 15 mins from PV town. Snorkeling straight off the beach was amazing, especially at the end of the channel! Coral and LOTS of fish, the water is absolutely beautiful! Our beach front fare was simple but very comfortable, with a super comfy bed, fell asleep every night to the sound of wa...

Perfect Beach stay for couples, friends, or adult families. Just a short b-bus drive from port vila city but feels a world apart. An absolute must stay if you're looking for a relaxing beach holiday. I went with my mum but there were lots of couples there too or just friends getting away for a holiday. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. As part of our arri...

The resort and the grounds were immaculately presented. Our bungalow was very clean and comfortable and having the private pool and balcony was perfect. All the staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. We would like to say Thank You to the staff that we had the pleasure to meet and get to know over our time, Thomas, Karl, Irene and the front desk staff. T...

A compact hotel, with a range of budget rooms set around a lovely tropical garden and pool. The simple continental breakfast in the pretty outdoor, thatched dining shelter is a lovely, relaxed way to start the day - fruit, biscuits, weetbix, toast + jam, milo, juice, tea and coffee, is included in the price. The rooms are neat and tidy with access to limited wifi, but...

Had a lovely stay - but be aware you are 100% paying for the location. The Villa was scrupulously clean, Joy and her staff wonderful, breakfast was generous and delicious. But Vanuatu is a small island and tourism and self-sufficiency are the only two trades. Food is very very expensive, more than Australia, this is no Bali or Phuket! And that is OK, because everythi...

Excellent hosts and a wonderful orchid filled garden flowing down to the lagoon. A beautiful setting and close access to supermarket and local buses. Very comfortable self contained room overlooking the pool, lagoon and gardens. It is only a 10 minute walk to a well stocked supermarket and there are plenty of local buses available for the 10 minute trip to downtown Por...

Warwick Le Lagon (LG) is truelly a little bit of paradise. Just a couple of shacks on a weeny island just 10 metres off the shore in 1970, it has developed into a beautiful resort right on the sea with acres of manicured tropical gardens and lawns, three swimming pools to avoid crowding and cater for kids, two tennis courts under lights, an undulating golf course to tr...

Very unprofessional. We booked our honeymoon here and received no confirmation. I tried contacting them many many times to confirm the booking with no response. A month out from the honeymoon I was forced to book elsewhere as I didn't want to risk showing up for our honeymoon with no accommodation. A week after our intended stay, we received a bill for a no-show. It to...

Staff are very friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to make your stay more enjoyable. Studio apartments are great value for money and come with air conditioning. Pleasant pool area, restaurant has varied menu, however could use a little work (pineapple on my pizza tasted slightly fermented). However, I would definitely still stay again next time I'm in Port...

We LOVED Hideaway Island during our Christmas break. The location is fantastic and access via boat, anytime 24/7 is perfect. The staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome. Everyday we swam in the pool, in the ocean either swimming or snorkeling (loads of gorgeous tropical fish), canoed, paddle boarded or went on the glass bottomed boat. Our teenagers...

I stayed at Travellers for a couple of months while looking for a house to buy in Port Vila. The resort hotels I tried first did not work for me, due to location, poor wifi, lack of desk, and impersonal treatment. Travellers was better for all these. I also had to run my businesses in the US over the internet. What I treasured most at Travellers is the fact that it...

We just arrived home yesterday and I could not wait to write this review! The Grand hotel & Casino far exceeded our expectations. The view from the panoramic rooms are breathtaking and we absolutely loved waking up to an incredible view every morning. The sunsets were to die for as well! The hotel is so conveniently located to everything and the staff were so warm and...

This was a property that looked great on paper with a potential colonial feel to it. Rooms basic with basic problems. Room was not very private with staff talking outside and a light that kept going on and off. Breakfast on porch with a good aspect of the harbor.

I had a conference down the road at Warwick and stayed twin share with a colleague to save some cash. It was easy to get to and from airport and town. I quickly got use to the "bus" system. Going rate was 150-200VT. There are local kava huts next door (red bucket lights). 1nomakas bakery 30min walk up the hill has cheap beef and egg rolls 150VT. People in Vanuatu are ...

we booked to stay and chantilly's after reading the many favorable comments on trip advisor and we were very happy with our selection. after trying a couple of other restaurants in port villa we confirmed that tilly's is the best. the location of chantilly's is great, close to everything and easy to catch local buses if we didn't want to walk. we organised all our a...

We have stayed for 5 nights and loved the resort so much. It is stress-free from the moment we have arrived. They took us to our room straight away without asking our names. It has the best locations. There are so many colourful fish, star fish, sea cucumber, live coral and many other sea creatures around the jetty, which is literally 3 meters away from our breakfast ...

We stayed in late December and it was hot but air con was a 500vt per night extra charge (about $7AU). The location is a bit out of town but was cheap and easy to get into town on a 'bus' (panel van full of people) for about $4AU for a couple. You're not missing much by staying out of Vila downtown and the tranquil location on the lagoon is worth it I think.

People in Vanuatu are so friendly but it was hard to get stout booked they don't like to force sell things to you. They come across very shy but we found that the market was very good for fresh fruits and local meals. When the cruise ships roll into town you can feel the buzz in the people. Our room was good for the price they didn't realize we booked a fan room and ...

The girl at the check in was really nice, but also kept really close because I had to pay in cash and I still had to go to the atm to get it and she came with me. Either because she was nice or because she wanted to make sure I get the cash. I paid the same evening but in the supermarket since she left. The hotel is huge but there were only 2 guests. I booked a dorm bu...

Our entire trip to Vanuatu was made all the better thanks to Pasi Lodge. This was the last leg of our 3-month South Pacific tour, and it was easily the best spot in all our travels. Having your own apartment is awesome no matter where you are, but with an outdoor patio, two comfy beds, a cooking area, and living room, it was like having your own place in Vanuatu. Plus,...

I was so happy with my choice because I was looking for somewhere I could relax on the beach and feel at home as opposed to a big hotel! The natural setting of these bungalows offered peace & quiet, access to local sites, convenient transport, an opportunity to experience Vanuatu as if I lived there! I will definitely be back with my family and friends! I found the bun...

Thoroughly enjoyed our time. Some inconvenience being so far out of town and from the airport. Beach is not one to sit on, but great views across the harbour to Vila. Staff were great - nothing any trouble. Food was surprisingly good for a mederate standard hotel. Recommend it if proximity to Vila is not important. Tours leave from there so overcoems location to some d...

I'm french and I appreciated the staff because some people are speaking french and english language We stayed for one night more, because it's very clean and the price you pay, it's the right price, there is no surprise with additionnal fees for Visa Card payment like the De Santo Village Resort which add 4%!!! No frllls, no nonsense accommodation. Not luxury, but comfortable, and very good value for money. Jacinda went out of her way to make me feel welcomed and to make my stay comfortable, for example providing breakfast provisions, and DVDs when there was a TV failure.. Was very easy to get around the area and cheap. Food was great the restaurants were very good. Some of the sights around Port Vila were unforgettable and so peaceful.
Mele Cascades Water fall is fantastic that your dont want to miss. For close to town option, snorkeling is the best in hideaway island.
Port Vila is a delightful town which is not "touristy" at all. There are only four hotels and the rest of the accommodation is in small resorts with chalets or bungalows.
It is a great small city with a lot of French influence. There is also Asian and European influence, that makes the city great for all tastes.
There were two major memories I have of Port Vila, the first is the friendliness of the people, they are a revelation if you come from a modern stress ridden city, so open and natural and at no point did we feel unsafe, even at night.
Really enjoyed our 10 nights in Port Vila and wished we could have stayed longer. There is a lot to see and do, including Mele Cascades, Eton Beach, Blue Hole, Sunset Cruise, Coongoola Day Cruise, Hideaway Island, Erakor Island, Iririki Island, Vanuatu Helicopters, Eratap Beach, the Fire Show at the Beach Bar on a Friday night is out of this world and a must see.
