Traveling to Thailand? Find Songkhla hotels

The room was very good, clean and spacious and reasonably priced.The shower was poor...very little consistent warm water. The restaurant, while offering an average choice at slightly higher than expected costs, did not serve wine and coffee was only of the instant variety. Breakfast offering was very good and the staff was very attentive. There are few choices of high end hotels in Songkhla and this one does not meet "high end" standards. Lastly, notwithstanding proof of full payment for the three days we were there, we were challenged by front desk to "prove" payment in full was made at time of booking. I had to give date, time and amount charge was processed through my credit card before they "apologized" for their error. Come back again to Via Hotel....no chance.

My wife and I are frequent travellers to Thailand, Most of the time we go to Chiang Mai during Nov/Dec to enjoy the cool weather and good food. This time wanted to go to a seaside place just to enjoy Thai food and to chill out. Through AGODA I came across Ao Thai Resort in Songkhla. Photographs of the place made us feel that this was the place we were looking for. And we booked it. We arrived in Hatyai and by prior arrangement were met at the airport by the Resort transport. To our surprise,the driver of the vehicle was none other than Mr Uwe Weischinger , who owns and runs the resort. We found Mr. Uwe a friendly person, who though was German, spoke excellent English. During the 1 hour drive to the resort we got to know each other very well and we already knew that we had made a good choice in selecting Ao Thai Resort. The resort was everything the write up said it was. Excellent location next to the sea, a swimming pool, clean rooms, a restaurant at the beach serving a variety of Thai dishes and Western food and a host of smiling, polite staff to attend to you. Above all this, Mr Uwe was ever willing to provide you food to your taste which were not in the menu. If you want to enjoy a private holiday with you partner, or with your family in Thailand, Ao Thai Resort is the place to go to.

We stayed for 2 nights at the hotel and were impressed with it. The staff were very helpful with information about Songkhla - particularly when we didn't speak each others language. The Manager of the hotel helped us with sightseeing as did the bellboys in trying to get a tuk tuk in very trying circumstances (no tuk tuks for some reason). The hotel is well laid out and is definitely the best hotel in Songkhla. It is quite a walk to the town centre so best to grab a tuk tuk. Would definitely stay there again.

The staff very friendly even weblate check in..the extra comforter and pillow very cheap..just 50baht... The breakfast is simple...but not bad.. We are glad to stay here..near to samila beach...and tesco lotus... Easy parking... Have a cafe or restaurant near the hotel which have a live band...but its ok, not hear at room and they closed 1am.. Overall we really satisfied!

On a ad hoc trip from KL to Songkhla, booked it online, was very cheap so expectation was that it would be just a bed to sleep, was shocked when we arrived as it was brand new (8 month in operation only) clean and it access card style security. It also had ample dedicated hotel parking. Draw back was there was no restaurant but there is a pantry on the ground floor though also i stayed 2 night but they didnt clean our room. For 500 baht a night who cares anyway! Certainly recommended .

Spacious room, helpful staff, great location at the edge of Old Town Songkhla. Reasonable laundry rates. Parking available. Near a Mosque - halal eateries a plenty. We stayed there for 2 nights and we didn't have enough time to try them all. Within walking distance of Old Town attractions, and to bike/motorbike rentals to go further to places like Samila Beach, Chalathat Beach, Kao Seng muslim fishing village. Will stay here again if given the chance.

A nice motel with a large room with efficient air conditioning and a comfortable bed. Shower has cold water only but that's OK. Each room has a parking space. You will need a ride because the resort is about 5 km from town. It would be great if they would rent bikes. No food is served but they sell drinks and snacks and there are loads of small Muslim eateries nearby. Note that the nearest 7-11 doesn't sell any alcohol but you can get beers at the hotel and in town. Just near the hotel is a beautiful temple on rocks overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. Really a must! Internet is not reliable, connection often just stops for no reason.

In term of hotel conditions, it's really good and cozy. Room is nicely decorate and prepared. I think this is a new hotel since things look new. Each room get their own parking garage in front of their room. The only setback of this hotel is their location which is quite hard to reach from the main road. I need to drive through a housing area to get by. Perhaps i didn't know the best way but it's just near the Songkhla town. Only recommended for those who come by their own transport and not those who rely on public transport. Will come again.

Location is good for beach lover. Just walking distance and in front of hotel. Beach side was clean, strong wind, suitable for relaxing only, not for swimming and need to beware on dangerous wave. No beach guard on duty but there is CCTV working. We stayed at 3C type bungalow garden view for 1 night which located at another building, not at main building. Very spacious room with 1 queen bed and 1 single bed, seating area, screen tv, refrigerator, cupboard, towel rack, bathroom amenities and set of towel. No bathtub, no kettle, no iron, no tea sachet or coffee. Please call room service for hot water pot. Iron service provided with extra charge. Free wifi at all area and very excellent! Large separated swimming pool for adult and children. Did not have chance to enjoy the pool since i dont have suitable swimsuit. Get in for 5min but the staff dont allowed since my shirt is cotton, not swimwear. Buffet Breakfast is ok with selection of bread, fried rice, noodles, mixed rice, ulam rice, fried popia (thai style), salad, fried egg, cut fruits, hot drinks and ice tea. Staff very friendly just have language problem since just 1 girl understand English. Bell boy was very helpful, help us to pick and collect luggage. Takes around 30min by van via land from Samila Beach. Plan to go there via ferry but there are too long queue. No tuk-tuk around hotel, need to have own transport or rent a van earlier. We used hotel chartered van service from Haad Kaew Resort to Buri Sriphu Hotel at Hatyai for 1000baht. Good driver and van condition was excellent!

This charming little place with the difficult name (I suggested they give it an English name like "Koh Yo Resort") is run by a delightful group of family and friends. Located on the island of Ko Yo in the Tonle Sap inland sea, it's about 15 minutes drive from Songkhla - taxis can be a bit expensive 500 RM up to get there as it's not well known. Ms. Luktao speaks good English and the others try hard to be helpful. Great for the older traveler who wants a getaway from impersonal hotels - ground floor immaculate rooms, very comfortable mattresses, nice extras like free hot water 24/7 and a pavilion where you can drink coffee and eat meals. Not yet a restaurant, they order food for you & bring it on a motorcycle. No real attractions or shops nearby, but they'll find you a ride. Good place to curl up to write -- I had blogging to do so aircon and wifi were essential and were very good. Sunset over the fish farms in the lake is spectacular! I'll go back there someday...

This hotel is one of the best hotel i ever stayed in Songkhla. It is only 5 min from the city. Room and area are clean, tidy and well design in the modern way. There is a good view of Songkhla lake at the back of the hotel. Very convenient because i can park right to my room and just get in and out with no problem. It is only 1 km from the Wyoming club where i enjoy the club very much. Though the service and room are great there is some lack in the room service since it is not served for 24 hour, also hotel doesnt service for the laundry yet. Overall it is a good hotel, worthing to stay and if anyone would love to have a change from the other hotel in town, Sabai sabai is one of the recommended one from me.

Very pleasant serene place ,it locate at the norther most part of songkhla,to get to town need to take tuk tuk but thats not problem,the hotel staff where very helpful to make call for me with no charge.the surrounding where good as it was just minute walk from samila beach.the theme park like ambiance do make you wonder wether you at a beach or on a theme park vacation :)
