Switzerland hotels & accommodations

The place is great to stay, directly next to the station. Upon checkin we were upgraded to the room with a Jungfrau view, which was very nice of them to offer. The room is clean, including the bathroom, and the hotel has great facilities - pool and bike rental (unfortunately they don't have SPD pedals). The included breakfast has enough variety and was filling (no bana...

Good location! Good photography opportunity too! Similar to all hotels in this part of Switzerland, nothing comes cheap, so it's really hard to justify what value-for-money is. Breakfast starts at 0530hrs... so good for those who wants to head out to the mountains early. I have gotten a room facing a very prominent view of the mountains and the main street - that's ...

Everything was perfect in Interlaken Hotel! Just rated 4 stars on value for money as overall price is high in Switzerland. Staffs were very kind, breakfast was good, shared shower was very clean and the hotel restaurant at ground floor was great. We were touched when the staff arranged to prepare breakfast bag to go when we said that we need to check out early in the n...

Instead of paying full price to stay in Center Geneva, u can stay here and pay around 60% less ... rooms are super clean, free mineral water top up everyday ... they provide free shuttle from airport to hotel ... they provide card for free public transport rides all over Geneva, city to the hotel by bus is only 20 minutes and buses in geneva are very punctual ... there...

This older, updated hotel is walking distance to all of city center Zurich. A friend stayed in another close 3 star hotel that was not nearly as nice. The garden behind the hotel with a lovely old fountain helps drown out the busy city noise and provides a tranquil respite from the hurried city life. The biggest negative is the internet situation. One can use a cou...

Strategic location, near to the train station. It is very convenient if you were to take a tour to Jungfraujoch as it is less than 5 mins walk from the hotel to the train station. We were so lucky to get free upgrade to the nearby sister hotel (Hotel Spinne) which is a 4 stars hotel. The room was clean and tidy. Overall, would definitely recommend this hotel if you are...

Unfortunately I totally forgot to cancel my agoda voucher as this seemed a double booking with the hotel which I came to know at check in . In general my stay was very good and location is very convenient for all sorts of travelers Hotel amenities are 4 star quality Only to comment is the breakfast is very simple and the quality of food is average. At time the room ...

We spent 3 nights in Lucerne at the end of our 21 day Switzerland trip in September 2018. We chose one of the apartments available from Alstadt Hotel Krone. The apartments are across the Weinmarkt Square from the hotel in an historic building. The apartment was large and clean with comfortable sofa, king bed, kitchen, roomy bath with washer/dryer. No elevator, but eas...

we decided to stay here because we had to leave Zurich the next day. the hotel has nice decoration. clean and modern. big beds and comforters. one of my favourite stays in Switzerland. the hotel is nice enough for us to leave our baggage 1 day before we checked in while we were visiting Interlaken.

5 mins from the airport by tram. Rooms are quite tiny. Place is silent (soundproof windows). Toilet looks like a closet and cannot be locked from inside. Water is hot. Good shower. Matress comfortable. Breakfast buffet available and has quite a good choice. Washing and drying (laundry - one load) is available for 7 Swiss Franks. Quite expensive though...well, it's Swit...

Hotel is very modern and nicely designed. Good transport links - close to trains and trams. We had a few issues with our reservation- we had booked a room with a bath but the hotel only has showers. The staff were helpful in dealing with this and offered us free breakfast.

Pros: perfect location! The bus 102 and 103 and 21 take ya straight to this hotel from Interlaken OST The staff are the best, really charming and fun. Go strike a conversation or two, and you know you will have a good time. Breakfast was superb! Also they provide tea and desserts at 2-6 pm during your stay! I think the owner has done some beautiful touches around th...

I stayed here during September where it's in low season in Zermatt view room so this is a late review . I enjoyed my stay here, the reception is always so friendly and willing to help, felt the great hospitality throughout. Instead of a hotel, i say this place feels like home with its cozy and homely feeling. the breakfast selection was good , having stayed in switzer...

We spent two nights at this hotel. I maybe reserved the room without breakfast by mistake that is the shame we didnt eat at the hotel at all. The room was fine the view at our room is buildings. For this price we expected a better hotel, we got nothing but regret from the hotel. There are two big bottles of shampoo in the bathroom if you need something else you c...

The breakfast is slightly better than other hotels in Switzerland . Room is big and upscale . Design is a bit unconventional with the shower separated from toilet and the wash basin inside the room . Comfy and clean. The hotel is about 5 kms from the airport and direct buses ply only twice an hour.

We didn't expect that much from a Three Star hotel. The decoration is a perfect match of baroque and modern style. The bed was really comfortable and the room very large and clean. You don't have to ask for anything because it's already in the room (kettle, Coffee, Tea, Iron, Safe, Led TV and DVD Player). Breakfast available until 1 PM at least... And finally the Room ...

The hotel is within walking distance from the train station so there is noise from the trains but this did not bother us. We had a very small room with a sloping ceiling so not great for tall people but we had a view of the mountains. Excellent breakfast with very good choices for vegetarians. Staff were genuinely welcoming, very friendly and polite. Staff are mult...

The room was clean and organized. The private bathroom was clean and came with amenities. My sister and I only stayed here one night, so we didn't need anything fancy. Hotel Alexander was a good fit for us! This was our first time in Zurich and we didn't do much research before coming. The front desk was very helpful in recommending a restaurant and telling us how to t...

We were hesitant to book this place as it didn't look that appealing in photos. We were pleasantly surprised that the suite had 2 large bedrooms, separate shower/bathroom and small kitchenette. Getting to the train station/main city centre was relatively easy. Just catch the tram which is very close by. Zurich (and Switzerland) is a very expensive place, but for...

I was a bit worried the first time coming to Luzern as a solo traveller. Arrived at Luzern Hbf late in the evening, fortunately the hostel’s location is just a few minutes away from the station. The room was quite decent, with bathroom and kitchen on each. It is probably the best hoste in town with great value for money, especially if your traveling on limited budget a...

This is the best hotel during my 18 days of swiss trip. Located 10 minutes walk from Grindelwald train station. If you have lots of luggage, I suggest you to call the hotel to pick you up at no costs. It also includes a free bus ticket during your stay and free entrance to the local swimming and sport centre. I stayed in south-facing balcony room, superb view of the...

the hotel is about 5 minutes walk from train station and located next to the oldest village in the town. the hotel room was very clean, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, balcony at every room with nice scenery. the hotel owner was very friendly, helped us with the luggage. free breakfast was simple but delicious, perhaps they could add more choices of food would be great...

Plus sides: Room is big and clean They refill the minibar in room everyday with chips, mineral water, lemonade etc. The restaurant downstairs is good for dinner though a bit expensive, but prices in Switzerland are steep in general Nice gym 10 min walk from train station, slopes manageable even with big luggage’s Down sides: For breakfast do not provide the freshly cu...

Stayed in a Junior Suite with balcony with Lake View. View from balcony is simply awesome. The room has a homely feel. The friendly and cheerful hotel manager makes the stay feel even more homely. 3 minutes walk to a convenience store. To Rigi area for the cable car and cogwheel railway is only a 5 minutes drive. Will surely return if I travel to Switzerland again.
Cheap places to stay in Switzerland

It is a very good stay! The rooms were clean and new, there is a kitchen which was equipped with everything you need and the toilets are clean, dry and has good hot water. They thought of everything! There's only wifi around the reception area and not in my room. However, I only stayed for a night so it is alright for me. Very helpful and nice receptionist too. For peo...

The hosts at Casa Nico were very quick to respond to requests and to confirm details in English. We had a lovely room with a view to the East, with a lovely sunset and sunrise. The room was sparkling clean, and while simply furnished, it was very comfortable. The bed seemed to be new. The shared washroom was large and also very clean. The accommodation is about a 25 m...

I stayed at the hostel for a week, the location was perfect for me as my office was just on the other side of the road. Also very close to the trainstation and the old town. The staff was very helpful and friendly, rooms/bathrooms/kitchen were clean. Really good value for money, would definitely recommend it to anyone and will be back the next time! Also the bar that i...

The price is unbelievable friendly for Switzerland. The place is clean but they used a super strong laundry detergent for sheets and it bothered the first night we were there as it was to the point of chockingly toxic! The no wifi is a huge drawback.

This hostel has nice big lockers with key card entry, well maintained bathrooms, wonderful breakfast, and friendly staff. The locker storage after checkout was cheap and easy to access. My only complaint was the floors were extremely creaky and even one step would wake the whole dorm up. The water pressure in the showers was the best I've ever encountered.

upon arrive staff will give you map with recommendation of the day trip and transportation card. its super easy to find once you walk out main station. whenever i have question staffs knows best solution and explain to me friendly. very pleasant stay. only one thing need to improve is wifi is a bit weak

Pros : Price reasonably, great location to Tasch Bahnhof(4 minutes) . 12 minutes to Zermatt by train, so much quieter than if you stay in Zermatt. Room is comfy and roomy. Con : Shower temperature fluctuating difficult to control. No new towels changed for 4 nights stay. Service is alright I guess. Will recommend to friends.

i upgraded my room to the room with a bathroom inside and it cost a lot more than the one i booked via agoda at , a big difference from the one with shared bathroom. this dont include any breakfast at all. the room was spacious and clean luckily. however, it was pretty costly for a unknown hotel and the check in time on sun was terribly late at 4pm. there was no one...

Clean and comfortable for our family of 5 for a 1 night stay on our way to Italy. Stayed there to start our road trip thru the Gotthardpasse the next day. Unfortunately it was raining and the old cobbled road was closed. The hotel is a great find and in great location. Small town with a gas station n walking distance to small shop selling groceries. Very clean and comf...

It’s an old but nice hotel in the historic center of Locarno. The staff spoke english and german, no problem with that. We got a bigger room than we booked (apartment) and all was fine, only thing that bothered us a bit was the design metal object installation on the neighboring Palacinema building - it looks nice but makes a horrible noise when it gets windy (and it w...

Stayed 3 nights during June summer in this hotel. It is about 10-15 mins walk from Interlaken OST station. There is a bus which you can take for just one stop but the frequency is 30 mins interval. Room is a little small but has free minibar for the first day which is recommendable. The hotel has no air con so the room gets a little stuffy and hot every time we return...

The hotel is 4 stars hotel with full facility and services. This hotel is in a very good location, just opposite the Luzern train station. Therefore, it is so convenient and safe time in travelling throughout Switzerland. The rooms were ok but the staff were very friendly and helpful. They will try their best to assist us on whatever we asked for. The surrounding resta...

First, this hotel has a perfect location, its a walking distance from the Interlaken West station, close to the park, a lot of restaurants and grocery stores, and at the same time, has a really great view of the Alps. Second, the hotel staff is very helpful and accommodating. They helped us book our ski trip, showed us how to get around and were always ready to serve...

A great stay with the best view of the lake from room. Room Size is quite good with a huge balcony and a fantastic view of Mt. Pilatus. The reception staff was nice and helpful. Restaurant is quite good but expensive like the rest of Switzerland. The hotel has its own party boat that you can rent and explore the lake. The hotel is bit from the Luzorn town (~4km). But t...

the hotel is in victorian style, nice decoration inside. however, the room is decorated in minimal style. i booked executive room and i like that it was so big. the bathroom has seperated bath tub and shower and toilet so it's very comfortable. the location is so good. it's in walking distance to any places as it's located in the shopping street.

Was actually planning to stay in backpackers hostel in Zurich. However, after staying in one of those in Lucerne, I decided to see if there were any cheaper hotels I could stay in. (Accommodation costs heck of a lot in Switzerland) To my surprise, found out that by paying just a bit more, I could stay in this hotel instead of hostels. So I booked it, and to my amazemen...

The hotel is super chill and contemporary designed. Staff are very friendly and nice. View is stunning although there’s a bit of walking from the station. There’s a bus running through hourly if u don’t want to walk. The great view plus the nice design of this hotel would make me want to stay again.

The triple room is remarkable and very convenient for guest with children. The room is spacious and clean. The hotel is located near the Geneve Aeroport, it is only take 10-15 minutes to go directly to the airport by bus no. 10 where the bus stop is located in front of the hotel.

Nothing fascinating about the hotel except that it is located very near the airport by tram. Rooms are quite big for the price paid. There are nothing around the hotel so only stay here if you are leaving Switzerland by the airport the next day. The price of the tram to and fro the airport is 4.50 swiss francs per person one way. That's very expensive considering it is...

The hotel has a very good location. It is not far from the train station so it is easy to commute by walking for 10 mins from the hotel. This hotel is just on the Lake Leman, just few minutes walk from the hotel. Our friend even got a room with lake view. The rooms were good and decorated with different styles and themes. Although, the rooms were not big but we have ha...

We stayed at Ramada for 2 days. The room is big enough for 4 of us. Glad it has AC while other hotel (with the same star) has not. Free Wifi..!! so my sons were happy. since we are from Indonesia, we were so glad because there is a Singaporean Restaurant just in front of the hotel (but dont ask about the price..it is Switzerland.. :) )

Tiffany Hotel is considered the best hotel we booked throughout our whole Europe trip this time. It was beautiful. Love their old school elevator. The rest area is cozy, feel so calm even just sit down there and rest. They have sauna and steam room for the guest also. The room is fantastic, it comes with with balcony. And room size is just nice for a couple. Exactly w...

Desk clerk who checked us in had difficulty communicating. Room was not made up by 4 pm one afternoon. Shower mechanism was not user-friendly and wasn't explained. Price of breakfast buffet, $43/person, was high even by Swiss standards. Concierge, Dominik Schneider, was excellent--among the very best we've ever had.

I am a single female traveling Europe. I decided last minute to take a trip to Switzerland and more specifically, Zermatt. After reading many travel reviews, I choose to spend the extra money to stay at the Omnia. It was well worth it. I was slightly disappointed (based on most reviews) they usually have a sign with your name on it to take you to from the train stat...

We chose to stay at Villa Honegg after seeing a post on facebook. This hotel rates one of the best we have stayed. The staff were excellent, a credit to the management of the hotel.Beautiful position. We were glad we had a car as it is a bit away from any public transport. Best location ever right next to the river!!! Superb view n we r beyond speechless. Perfect for our honeymoon! The staffs were super top notch!! Friendly n helpful to our questions n needs!!! The room was so amazingly clean, NEW, aestheticly beautiful and the toilets too!!! So freaking perfect last stay in Zurich! Wished we stayed there longer!!! Will be back for sure!...

I absolutely loved this place!! It was AMAZING! It is quite expensive and hard to reach (you have to take a helicopter/boat. However, because it is quite high end, they don't have that many guests, which means that there is a high chance that they will let you check in early. Once you book a room here, they send you emails explaining their facilities and everything! Th...

it was our first night in zurich. as this hotel has top ranking, we decided to stay there, but the experience is a bit disappointing. it is a small hotel so we were assigned to a room on the 1st floor, even we booked the junior suite. the view from the room is not good, but the cost of the room is very high. however, the service quality of the staff is very good....

this is a medium size hotel with very good service. the business room is free and excellent with big laser printer. the free computers are very nice apple model. the room service is superb. every one on duty were smiling. i think this is one of the best hotel to stay in attending a meeting in the pales de nations building as the bus no 8 is right at the back of the hot...

We really enjoyed our stay at Intercontinental Geneva Hotel. The location was perfect. Very near the bus stop. The hotel staff were very helpful. We really appreciate their concierge, Nicolas. He was very accommodating and gave us the best advice of doing a day trip to Montreux. The next time we decide to visit Geneva, we will definitely stay at Intercontinental Geneva...

This is a definite 5 star hotel really top class. The communal areas are nice with some nice private areas to sit and relax with a glass of wine. The rooms are well appointed, we had a terrace as well which was great. Only negative (but it is in Switzerland) - the food & drinks are expensive. If it meets your budget - book - you won’t be disappointed.

Booked the junior suite - definitely worth the price. Excellent services, got explanation and escort all the way to the room. Huge room and wonder view to lake geneva at the balcony, if you are lucky you get to see the cloud of seas in the morning. felt like an honeymoon.

Very nice hotel and the location is excellent as you can walk to the city center and the bridge. The train station is also just round the corner. The room was very big with modern design, but I was slightly dissapointed by the dust. The staff was really nice and helpful. I also recomend the bamboo restaurant, located in the basement of the hotel, really delicious.

Perfect from beginning to end. The front staff would go out of their way to help with any request with great attitude . Everything was dealt with efficiently and cheerfully. It felt like a home away from home. The location is wonderful, an easy and pleasant walk from Les Amures anywhere within walking distance. We would have loved a a Nespresso coffee machine in our r...

Amazing place! Everything you need to destress and enjoy the lovely area. Out of the way but only 10 to 15 min walk to town. Beautiful view of the Matterhorn and a waterfall. Helpful and nice host. Very close to the gondola to ascend the mountain. Playground across the street would be perfect for little ones.

We had a great time. The staff was unbelievably friendly, everything was very beautiful and clean and the room had a great view. Also, we enjoyed the large breakfast buffet a lot. All the food was very obviously of great quality and very carefully chosen. Only thing that was regrettable to us: We were traveling as a group of three and would have liked to share a room. ...

We had a short but lovely stay at the hotel. We arrived in the early afternoon and checking in early was no problem. The hotel is perfectly located for quick access to the heart of the city as well as to see the sights on the Right Bank. The service was subtle and exceptional - not intrusive but everywhere you wanted or needed it. The room was extremely comfortable, th...

Lovely location on the lake side. However the hotel looks old, they should do a major renovation since it claims as a 5-star hotel.. The coldest level of aircon is very hot about 28 celcius and only fan that comes out, when complaint they said that's the standard of the AC. I booked 5 rooms and all of my family member woke up sweating. The elevator is old and rusty. Th...

we've been to luzern many times, staying in different hotels each time. this is the best hotel by far. the experience right from check-in to check-out is magnificent! the staff are really courteous, friendly, helpful and attentive! the hotel is situated in front of the lake, within walking distance to every attraction or shops in luzern. the hotel and rooms are ...

Essential Travel Tips for Your Swiss Adventure
Preparing for a trip to Switzerland requires a bit of planning, but with the right tips, your experience will be seamless and enjoyable. First and foremost, pack for varying weather conditions. Layers are key, as temperatures can fluctuate significantly throughout the day, especially in the mountains. Don't forget to include comfortable walking shoes, as many cities and attractions are best explored on foot. Additionally, a good-quality camera is essential to capture the breathtaking scenery that awaits you!
Understanding local customs can enhance your interactions with residents. The Swiss are known for their punctuality, so be sure to arrive on time for any appointments or tours. When dining out, it’s customary to greet your servers with a friendly “Grüezi” (hello) in German-speaking regions or “Bonjour” in French-speaking areas. Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory; rounding up your bill is usually sufficient. Familiarizing yourself with the local languages—German, French, and Italian—can also go a long way in connecting with the locals.
Currency is another important aspect to consider. Switzerland uses the Swiss Franc (CHF), and while credit cards are widely accepted, having some cash on hand is useful for smaller establishments or markets. The Swiss Travel Pass is an excellent investment for those planning to explore multiple cities, as it offers unlimited travel on the public transport network, including trains, buses, and boats. With these essential tips in mind, you’ll be well-prepared to embark on your Swiss adventure!
