Fabulous hotel with excellent service!”
We loved the De Lanna Hotel. The staff were so friendly and provided very attentive service both for our rooms and in the restaurant. Our room was beautiful. It was sparkling clean, comfortable, in good repair and the decore was gorgeous. It was a wonderful welcome to Chiang Mai. The hotel is within the old city walls toward the west. Its about a 20-30min walk to the night bazaar precinct. But its a nice walk or only a 10 min tuk tuk ride away (only 100B). So location wasnt too much of an issue. On Sunday there are even more markets 1 min walk from the hotel which are HUGE! So that was very enjoyable too. We cant praise this hotel enough. The value for money was superb! Will definitely stay here again!

Friendly Service”
It was a great stay in De Lanna. Perfect hotel that complements the perfect weather of Chiang Mai on January! The staff were really helpful. From room service to booking day tours. They are very accommodating. Breakfast was great too! It was the typical Asian breakfast which is really not a problem for us travelling Asians. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom also works well for me. Just the perfect size for Asian. Quite cozy but I really like the rusty chic design. There's a funny stuff toy inside the room which I really find creepy. So I hid them in the cabinets. The room given to us has a balcony which gives a great view of the very inviting pool area. Breakfast is ready as early as 7 AM which is also great especially when you have an early pick up time for your day tour. I will definitely come back to Chiang Mai for more shopping and will definitely stay with De Lanna again.

Highly recommended”
We thoroughly enjoyed every moment we spent in De Lanna Hotel. It is a wonderful hotel that exceeded our expectations with a swimming pool along the entire length of the hotel building. Great location in Chiang Mai’s old city with many restaurants and shopping possibilities nearby. Rooms are large, all extremely clean and well taken care of. The buffet selection at breakfast is fantastic (adding one or two cheeses may be a good idea). Service is excellent, all the staff from the reception to the restaurant, very friendly and eager to offer assistance.

Very good hotel with a great swimming pool”
as we wanted to stay in chiang mai for 4 days, we searched for a well located and comfortable hotel in the old city. de lanna hotel fulfilled our expectations: the pool gave us the necessary relax. the room was large and comfortable, internet connection worked fine (a bit slow sometimes) and the staff was very helpful. the breakfast was really good: there's a wide range of choice, from thai food to fresh fruit or european breakfast. i'd go back there again!

To Good to be true ! best hotel in Old City !”
my husband and i did all the research your doing right now. looking for clean, classey, quiet, authentic, close to everything but not too close to loud bars, safe, & friendly... well stop researching. de lanna hotel is 1 block over from the sunday night market, which is amazing, its in a quiet street neighborhood. there is a scoter rental next door (must do) and a beautiful temple just one block away. everything in old city in within walking distance so de lanna is perfect. it was the best hotel we seen there or that our friends stayed at. super new and clean, amazingly friendly staff, and the restaurant has a truly amazing chief. the food was delish!!! we will 100% come back and recommend this hotel to all our friends. do not second guess this hotel, you will be very pleased.

Perfect Hotel for a Solo Treat”
My second visit to Chiang Mai to enjoy the wonderful city and surrounding countryside. I was booked on a two day mountain biking trip so didn't spend lots of time in the hotel but was very pleased when I did. My room was spotless with a massive bed and very good facilities - robe, safe, umbrella, tea/coffee etc. I particularly liked the fact that the hotel design was in keeping with the general arty feeling of Chiang Mai with lots of the soft furnishings and other bits and pieces obviously having been locally sourced. Breakfast was great and I ate Thai one morning and Western the next. A small buffet but with everything that you could need. I ate in the restaurant too on Saturday evening and had a couple of reasonably priced glasses of white wine together with good food. The hotel staff were helpful and it was a bonus that they had separate shower facilities so I could return late on Sunday to clean up after a day on the mountains, even though I had already checked out of my room. The free wireless was also very welcome as many hotels I've been in recently have charged by the hour, even for broadband. All in all I thought this hotel was excellent value for money with a nice feel of luxury about it without being too sterile and same-same!

Great little boutique hotel”
The Hotel De Lanna was a perfect choice for us. Beautiful gardens, small pool, delicious breakfasts, free computer with internet. Mimi the tourist advisor in the lobby was fabulous, spoke good English and was really extra helpful, even when not booking anything through her, but just asking questions. She recommended Ti, a good English speaking taxi driver, who was good also. Noi is another good English speaking taxi driver who usually parks out the front. The Sunday Walking Street (a BEAUTIFUL market) was just around the corner and tuk tuks and taxis are always driving past. Temples at the end of each street which are good for Monk watching. Chiang Mai Women's Prison is around the corner, which is good for massages (they charge 150baht all proceeds going the prisoner when they are released.) Highly recommended.

Ambiance in the Old City.”
Our 3 night stay started with an airport transfer with Mimi who gave us some nice history and information about Chiang Mai. Our check in was fast and our room to the request specifications. Staff were so helpful and gave us tips on how much to pay tuk-tuks & cabs. After leaving for Pai, we almost booked the same room again for our return but decided on another part of the city. One of the nights there was an acoustic singer in the courtyard playing covers which was perfect for the setting of De Lanna, soaking it all in from the balcony. Loved everything about our stay and would definitely recommend! 5 Stars!!

nice hotel to backpackers”
It was good stay in de lanna hotel. the breakfast menu is not super special but well prepared and fresh. Good also have a meal at a garden. Room condition was nice clean wifi is free. Swimming pool in a garden is not so big, i thought this hotel would be good for family with children. Had a good stay, but over-priced to hotel's conditions i think. Place is near to sunday market, 15minutes to night market.I prefer hotels in tah pae pallace cuz it's easier to go to night market, nimman haemin everywhere and sungtawoo(red bus) is very cheap. Also cnx is small city you can enjoy walking.

in the middle of the old city”
Our stay at Hotel De Lanna was lovely. We read a bunch of reviews prior to arriving and thought it was hilarious that some were up in arms about 5 mosquitos flying around their rooms. I am not quite sure how anywhere in the world can control the flight paths of mosquitos but regardless, our room had none. What our room did have was beautiful vaulted ceilings, lovely decor and a nice balcony view of the tree top flowers and pool. One thing that I must mention was the comfortable pillows and the extensive buffet breakfast. A short walk to anything of interest in the old city.

An fantastic experience”
It was an fantastic experience here, De lanna hotel's service is very good, everyone has a smile and has a good heart for customer. I wanted to go to the Chedi for afternoon tea, I requested front desk for help, he told me how to go to the Chedi and how to go back the De lanna, and he phoned the Chedi to confirm the afternoon team time for me. He also helped my friend to find her glasses in the pool. I wanna say thank you for all of you. I will choose De lanna if I go to Chiang Mai again.

A wonderful hotel with a very nice staff”
De Lanna is our best hotel during our vacations in Thailand (3 weeks ; 6 hotels): we loved every detail : the furniture in Thai and Chiang Mai style, the design, the swimming pool. The staff was really kind and every thing was easy and refined. The rooms are spacious and so nice with a fantastic bathroom. The breakfasts outside, in the grass near the swimmning pool let great souvenir. I advise this hotel to people who like refined and quiet places.

Pleasant hotel and friendly staff”
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. We found the hotel a very nice place to stay. The breakfast was extensive and the pool nice to relax by. It was also just a short walk to many good restaurants. There was only a couple of small negatives... when you put your key in the slot to power the room, it flashes a blue light which is fine during the day but can be annoying at night. Also the sound proofing could be better especially if you have noisy neighbours as we did. Other than these things we would really recommend the De Lanna for a nice stay in Chiang Mai.

Great location and great facilities!”
We had such a great time at De Lanna. The concierge helped us book all of our tours while in Chiang Mai. Each one was fabulous. The room was spacious and ours overlooked the pool and had a great balcony in the central space. The pool was nice to use and they had large towels to use at the pool instead of your room towels, which was nice. It was about a 5-10 minute walk to the closest bars and restaurants. It was a great way to be in the city center, but also have a quite relaxing space to come back to at the end of the day. We would definitely recommend!

Great Location Practically A Spitting Distance Away from Wat Phra Singh”
Great hotel, great everything. When you're done with the Sunday Walking Market (which is about 1.2km long), the hotel is simply a right turn less than 100metres away. Super convenient! Highly recommended. By the way, the locals pronounce this hotel's name as "Der Lanna". Should your tuk tuk/taxi/song thaew driver not know where it is, just tell them to take you to Wat Phra Singh. Once you alight at Wat Phra Singh's front entrance, cross the road in front of it to the opposite side and look for a small road called Thanon Warorot (i.e. Warorot Road). "De Lanna Hotel" is on the left side of this road about 80 metres from the main road.

Great location.”
The De Lanna hotel is ideally located in the Old town of Chiang Mai. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel is clean. You can walk to just about anywhere in the Old Town, and the Sunday market is just at the end of the road.

Give them a chance to warm up to you”
I stayed at the De Lanna a few times. What I found in the lining of the De Lanna is that first apperance isn't always what you think. The staff at the De Lanna might appear unwilling to help you as a customer. The staff is actually very kind and always willing to help. You just have to have a good time with them and the come out of their shy shells with a big smile. Vo Thanh Binh (Front Desk Coordinator)is a good man that works hard and enjoys life and hearing about yours, Somporn (Driver) one of the nicest person I've met in my 14 years traveling throughout Thailand sit out front have a chat and he'll tell you all you need to know, go to the bar say hello to Kanokporn Auii (Waitress/Cashier) and you'll see the beauty of Thailand in her smile and wish Vilavan Saepong (Housekeeping) a good afternoon and you'll receive a warm hello and genuine feeling that she will take care of your room and have your best interest a heart. Just let the staff get to know you and you'll feel like family.

Beautiful Hotel, Super friendly staff, Good Food”
i simply fell in love with this hotel, we weren't sure about the location, chiang mai is a smaller city and not as familiar with the area, but once we got there immediately it was the hotel i saw on the website. it wasn't too expensive so we also weren't sure how the service or room would be. however, we got placed on the 3rd floor of this boutique hotel which had high celings. the room was very modern, great shower and bathroom, stained glass, and french doors to your very own balcony. the courtyard is very cute with tables to sit, and lantern lighting, with trees and orchids, koi fish all around the bottom floor, very well planned out and detailed. the staff was super friendly and helpful, we booked a driver to pick us up, and drop us off at the airport which was only 15-20 min away, very convenient. we also booked a car to take us to the tiger kingdom and arranged for our tour of the elephant farm, to pick us up from the hotel - both amazing things to do when there. while traveling with my bff we were surprised to find out that were is a small japanese section of restaurants near the major mall which takes about 15min to get to in a truck style tuk tuk that should only cost you 20-30 baht each person, one way. easy to exchange $ in the bank mall and they have a big food court, and local market etc. i don't have any complaints about this hotel, we were sad to leave, we loved the restaurant staff, we were sitting outside near the pool and they brought our food out to us, and gladly put it on our room. the cooler weather was a nice change and the more quiet atmosphere. i would definitely recommend staying here, and the next time i come here, i will book again!
