Great location and comfortable rooms”
We used Debonair Motel as a base to explore Taroko Gorge, and were very pleased with the hotel. The location was excellent, about 10 minutes from the train/bus station, with restaurants and a cinema very close by. The room was surprisingly spacious and very well furnished. Staff were friendly and helpful. Every room has a garage for cars/scooters. Also a good choice in the breakfast buffet.

Starting position to the beautiful Taroko park”
we chose this motel in hualien to visit taroko national park and to save money. for this purpose the position of this motel seems to be great, at most 10 minutes by a walk to the bus station (beside the railway station). the headquarters of taroko park is then about one hour by public bus. hualien is also interesting city, mainly the night streets with many fast foods (i recommend to taste the dumplings - a local speciality). the rooms of the motel are equipped with rather older furniture - a standard with respect to the number of stars. the staff is accommodating and friendly, only there was a problem to arrange something and speak in english.

Good Motel with plenty of parking”
The debonair Motel is within walking distance of the Station, has large rooms and is in a quiet area. There is plenty of parking space for cars and motorbikes. Rooms are large and well appointed, staff speak English and are very helpful and courteous. nearby there are plenty of eateries, a supermarket and self-serve laundry.

Large Room with Free Transfer”
Debonair Motel is near the Hualien train station. We reached after 12 midnight and upon arrival, called the motel staff who came promptly to pick us up! If you walk, it is around 3 traffic lights away. The room is sufficiently large and appears to be designed more for durability and practicality rather than attractiveness. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. A convenient place to stay in if your purpose (like ours was) is to stay overnight whilst planning a trip to Taroko Gorge.

Best motel I stayed at in Taiwan”
This property was the best motel I have stayed at in Taiwan. It is also the only motel I have stayed at. Being a solo traveller, I have stayed at many hotels, so to stay at a motel without a car was a novel experience. This motel would be suitable for someone with or without a car. It is within walking distance of the train station (though the downtown area is a bit of a hike). If you were planning to explore outside of Hualien, then it is conveniently located near to the train station, bus station, and 'Merry Tours'. The best thing about this property is it feels like I was back at home. That is probably the best compliment that one can give to a hospitality establishment. And free wifi saves on 3G bills.

Nice hotel”
The hotel was cheap, clean, and conveniently located near Hualien Station and the main downtown area. The staff was friendly enough and breakfast was free and decent. No complaints whatsoever. Would recommend this hotel to anyone in the Hualien area who just needs a place to relax and sleep.

Simple but pleasant hotel”
Hotel location was not difficult to find, and its about a 5-10 minute walk from the Hualien Train Station. You check-in the moment you step into the compound, and the security post is very well-manned by polite and friendly staff. Bathrooms were simple and basic, with some toiletries provided but I'd suggest you bring your own if you're fussy. Bed was a little soft but otherwise, it was a very pleasant stay.

Spacious hotel with good service”
we travelled in a group of 5 and booked a double and triple room. the double room is very spacious and kept very clean. it has a large corner with table for us to play board games and also pack our luggage. the hotel is also quite near to the hualien train (not recommendeded to walk if you are bringing heavy luggages as it is about 15 minutes walk). the "office" near the entrance appears to be the lobby/ reception desk but the staff allowed us to place our luggages there when we have to check out by 12 noon and our train ride was at 1905 hrs.

A good budget hotel”
this was just a decent budget hotel. there was nothing spectacular about it. however for the low price you pay, it was well worth it, considering it was clean, and they provide you breakfast as well, and the close proximity of this hotel to the hualien train station.

Huge rooms, clean & neat”
at first i felt a bit weird as the check-in was done in front of the hotel (which i thought it was a security place). but it's just like a typical motel in the western, mostly done that way. but when i got into the room, it's so huge and what you need is there. it's clean and neat. they serve breakfast too, like some chinese typical breakfast and also egg & toast. it's more than enough to start your day with a smile.

Decent enough for a night or two”
The motel is about 10 minute walk from the station. There is a hut at the car park entrance where you check in and get the key. The room was large but incredibly warm inside. Even after a couple of hours of aircon use it was still warm. Tha room seemed clean enough though the carpet was worn. I left early the next morning to go rafting so wasn't able to try the included breakfast. The bed was comfortable enough for a decent night sleep. Acceptable if using Hualien as a base for exploring the local area

Good value in an OK city”
The hotel is located a bit off the street, with a parking lot kiosk as a front desk. The clerk who checked us in helped with our bags and spoke decent English. The room was in the midst of remodeling, but spacious and comfortable. It included large beds and a fridge, and the wi-fi (as in all of Taiwan) was quite fast. The hotel provides daily breakfast coupons, and I found the hot breakfast buffet to be one of the highlights of the place. The hotel is located close to a few restaurants (I recommend the dumpling joint across from the pachinko parlor), but the main shopping/dining area is on the other side of town, accessible by cab. If you need to get out, there is a riverwalk just a block from the hotel. My main complaint is that the hotel made us surrender our key EVERY time we left; it felt a bit unsafe. Overall, I'd recommend skipping Hualien, but if you must go, this hotel is a good one.

Spacious room with Good service”
we reached the train station & tel them for the direction.however, we went the wrong way, should walk from front of station but we walked from the back instead as the front & back of train station looked the same to us. we stopped & asked for direction from a lady who happened to be boss of a minsu who helped us to call the motel staff.the staff of debonair drove to pick us up. he recommended a very good cabby who brought us to taroko national park & other interesting places. room spacious but lights were slightly dim. breakfast was lousy.

Budget & comfortable stay”
since it is named motel, double rooms are suitable for couples. the double rooms come with a garage. i stayed in a triple room, which is more suitable for families and friends. i saw families in the hotel too. but one thing to note is that you are to deposit your room keys with e hotel personnel if you are to leave the hotel and when you get your keys back they just asked for your room number without other verification. overall, the room is not too small, in fact quite spacious and the price is cheap and reasonable. and it comes with free wifi!

Great place to stay! Wonderful Bang for the Buck!”
Weirdest thing is that the reception is outside but no problem. Breakfast was ok would have liked hotter and colder foods. Room was very nice, double beds were not too hard but very firm. We got an exceptional deal from agoda for the stay. Great location good restaurants close by. Train station with shuttle bus terminal about 5 minutes away. I'd stay here again.

Value for money with their high service standard”
The room is spacious and clean. There's a individual garage for this room type. However, it is not suitable if you are driving a large or long car. It can be very difficult for parking, but you can choose to park at the carpark beside hotel. Room is suitable for couple or family to relax. Note that the bathroom's door is half transparent, you might felt uncomfortable if you are sharing with someone you not very close.

Great location and value”
The hotel is close to the train station. The hotel was big with a comfortable bed. The breakfast is mostly Chinese style, but was done well. We ate there two mornings and the food was different, so the variety was a nice surprise. The only drawback is there is only a curtain that divides the room from the bathroom. Service was great. We got in late but were still able to arrange a private taxi tour of Taroko Gorge for the next morning.

Affordable Accommodation at a Good Location”
It was the first experience in a motel for us. It was interesting that there were individual rooms with a garage space for cars. Rooms on the second floor had to be accessed via a staircase which was a little inconvenient with heavy luggage. Otherwise, the room was large and spacious with basic amenities provided. The breakfast was simple (bread and porrige) but sufficient. The staff were friendly. Recommended for a short stay, especially if you need a location close to the train station!
