I regularly travel to Thailand ... and always visit Chiang Rai. This is the best place in town. Shhh ... the secret is out. This hotel is a great pick in Chiang Rai. The location is very convenient, close to the clock tower, a lot of restaurants and a market. Amarin Resort is one of my favorite places to stay in Chiang Rai because it's quiet, relaxing, and the room is always extremely clean and organized. There's not much to do at the resort - there's no view or anything - but it's a nice place to stay. The location is not right in Chiang Rai center, but across the highway, which for me was a benefit.

Wangcome is a pleasant clean hotel right in centre of Chiang Rai, all the facilities which a tourist may require are readily to hand. It's a little dated but clean and comfortable.
