Very good service Hotel with a smaile”
This is my first time had booked a Hotel and stay at Dong Fang hotel. Certainly, i will be returning in the near future and will stay in Dong Fang again as my family and I have enjoyed very much when we were in Guangzhou. The staff here are very friendly, professional and very helpful. All of us found Dong Fang hotel is a convenient and comfortable place to stay whilst in Guangzhou and ease of accessing many places, such as international financial center, there are many shopping center here, trade show venues and many tourist attractions just like Yuexiu Park and Sun Yat Sen’s memorial Hall and Canton Tower, slender waist. Night tour in fascinating Pearl River is one place worthy of visiting. I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler.

Lovely Hotel in Guangzhou”
This is my first stay at Dong Fang hotel and i will be returning in the near future. I came to Guangzhou to attend the wedding dinner at 8-floor of the Hotel on 29th Dec 12. The Dong Fang hotel is a convenient and comfortable place to stay whilst in Guangzhou – quite close to shopping centres, trade show venues and many tourist attractions such as Yuexiu park and Sun Yat Sen’s memorial Hall. the staff are very friendly, professional and very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler, especially the business traveler who is coming to Guangzhou.

enjoyable stay at Dong Fang”
Dong Fang Hotel is really a nice hotel. Every time we visit Guangzhou, Dong Fang is really our first choice. Consistent hotel service. All employees are well trained to attend to each guest needs. Our last stay, we booked for a deluxe room but they upgraded us to executive deluxe with no additional cost. I requested for a non smoking room but since no available for deluxe they upgraded us just to satisfy our request. Its so great to stay in a large room.

Huge Hotel in Guangzhou”
Stayed at the Dong Fang during the Canton Fair, and despite the hefty price tage (all hotels in Guangzhou massively increase rates during these periods!) it was certainly worthwhile. The hotel itself is huge, and I understand that some rooms have been renovated, whilst others are still waiting to be renovated. Contains all features of an international 5 star hotel, and I was very happy with the size of the room. The bed was comfortable, and shower and additional bathtub were also great. Room service wasn't amazing but this can certainly be excused as breakfast was excellent

Worth what you paid for”
booked the cheapest available thru agoda which was superior, got free upgrade to business king even though it was a weekend and during the canton fair, i guess they werent fully booked, really greatful for that. dollar exchange rate at hotel reception was better that at the airport. nice pool but unfortunately they strictly enforce the no photography rule. a really stupid rule. we all want souvenir pics of our trips dont we. luckily, our room had a pool view so my wife took pics of me and the kid from our room window. she also managed to take some pics at the pool area before she was caught and reprimanded. other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back and hopefully get another free upgrade you can see some pics of dong fang and our guangzhou trip on my album

Good Service and Convenient Location”
the hotel is within walking distance to guangzhou railway station. if you are interested in going to the wholesale centres around the railway station, you might want to consider dongfang hotel. yuexiu mrt station is also just round the corner of dongfang hotel, making it easier for us when we want to travel to other parts of the city. there is a very nice restaurant for dim sum across the road from this hotel called nanhai fish village and also a congee village down the road from nanhai.

Quite a good hotel in central Guangzhou”
Dong Fang hotel is very close to Yuexiu Park metro station. However, there aren't any supermarket or market nearby, that I have to walk almost a long way just to get some fruits or breads, and there isn't much to see within walking distance except the hotel's shopping mall. However, it's easy to get to our working place and other places in Guangzhou by metro. Breakfast wasn't included for our rooms, but there is buffet breakfast available for a hundred yuan. There is a very nice Arabic restaurant just around the corner (near the metro). Wi-fi signal is sometimes a bit weak. Nice garden view from the rooms. Comfortable beds.

I stayed there just one night. Dong Fang hotel is a good hotel. It is known as one of the best hotel in Guangzhou. The rooms are comfortable. I didn't have time to enjoy the pool. But they have one of the largest pools in Guangzhou.

Thank you Dong Fang Hotel for the complimentary room type upgrade. This is by far one of the most amazing stay ever. The room upgrade comes with a spacious living space, which is perfect for one to chill and stay warm and cosy in the comfort of this 5 stars hotel. The bathroom counter is huge and perfect for ladies to arrange their toiletries, haha. The beds are comfortable to sleep in, and one would definitely love to tuck in bed and stay warm and snuggly given the winter weather. Overall, this luxurious stay definitely lives up to its reputation of a five stars hotel.

Convenient location, good price, large rooms”
this hotel was recommended by a friend who had previously stayed for 7 nights. this hotel is conveniently located (4 subway stations away from guangzhou east railway station/15 minute taxi ride away), and bars/restaurants along the pearl river (approx. 10 minutes away). airport buses (to guangzhou baiyun airport) stops directly in front of the hotel. the room was clean and spacious, and free wifi is accessible at all areas of the hotel. highly recommended, will be staying at the hotel again during my next trip to guangzhou in 4 weeks' time.

I love Dong Fang Hotel. I booked the business room and it was really nice. The room was big and the internet was fast. Most of the channels are Chinese channels (they have hbo and stuff from time to time)but since the internet was fast i just watched som shows online. There is a mcdonald's just beside the hotel if you want to go for something cheaper. Shops are also near. The staff are really nice and helpful.

A really nice hotel near some very fine parks.”
I signed up for this hotel not knowing what it was near and was pleasantly surprised to find it near the underground, parks and city center. My first visit to Guangzhou was a stay at the White Swan Hotel. The rooms in the Dong Fang were much nicer and even tho the bed mattress seemed thin it was a very good sleep. Being near the parks I took advantage of the running trails and many steps. I would stay there again.

we love staying at guangzhou,at dong fang. still getting used to the smoking in china, but they do not allow in hotel foyer. although some chinese ignore that and rudley still smoke..we love the pool and gardens. and enjoy training in the gym although its not fully equipped but enough to workout.

spacious rooms with great, convenient location”
we booked just before arrival and didn't really know the city and where we were landing up. best find for our short, 2-day family visit with husband and 2 college-age children!. highly recom. trooms were very spacious with high ceilings, large beds and nicely decorated. hotel seems recently upgraded in carpets and decor to tasteful, sophisticated modern chinese feel. darker woods with subtle lighting - liked the ambience. amenities were terrific - 2 thick bathrobes and slippers in closet just said, "welcome" and relax. bathroom was spa-like - raised tub for full soaking and separate rain shower for relaxing. full provisions including toothbrush (don't need to ask in case you forgot one) and other things. heat in room and hallways felt toasty and nice for january and staff attentive. rooms and hotel was very clean and didn't see anything out of order. also, hotel is so convenient to all transportation. airport bus is best way to get to hotel. clearly marked and efficient, take bus directly to hotel. ticket office is on premise and big stop. easy to return to airport and buses run every 15-20 minutes. metro is right outside of hotel. you can hop on subway anywhere for cheap - they come frequently, very clean and best way to get around. railway station right across street. we didn't use it, but everything is right there, this is a large hotel and meant for conference/convention attendees. so, for individual and families, it might seem imposing. but our family loved it and felt like hidden gem since people pass it over for newer hotel. only down-side was hotel restaurants. we arrived early evening and didn't want to explore city for restaurants. their main restaurants are really meant for banquets. though they have dinner menu and though good food, quiet place and expensive. head to macao restaurant which is on 1st floor, on-premise. don't be fooled by description that it's portuguease. best chinese food, packed every night with locals. service fast and a

I had previously stayed at Dong Fang. The rooms are huge and well appointed. Lovely pool/garden area. Fantastic range in the breakfast buffet. Great staff with good English. A little worn in places but not too much. Close to the subway and the airport bus leaves from the door. Will stay there again iif I am in Guangzhou.

Clean. Friendly and easy access”
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, a very great service. Dong fang also provided the easy shuttle bus from/to airport. Located in a nice area, not too far from the shopping district but not too close. Overall it was very satisfying and I would like to go back again.

Grand hotel close to subway station”
The hotel is basically about less than 10 minute walk from the Yuexiu station of Line 2 (Blue line). It is also just two subway stations away from the Guangzhou Railway Station (not the Guangzhou East Station). The hotel seem to have quite a history already but is still properly maintained. Rooms are overall quite clean but amenities are not very high standard. The Chinese restaurant on the 8th floor of tower 2 has some nice dishes on the menu but the service level is not very satisfactory. The waiters and waitresses are quite indifferent. There is also a McDonald's nearly which is open 24 hours in case you get hungry in the middle of the night
