(+) -extremely reasonable price and value -very spacious and clean -modern decor, facilities and amenities -short walk to train station - very decent bed, sheets and pillows -ample parking lot + private garages for theme motel rooms -theme rooms are pleasantly decorated -well-prepared typical local breakfast -free coffee and snacks in lobby -very pleasant and helpful staff -strong hot water for bath and jacuzzi in every room -superb climate control unit -large 42” LED LCD TV+cable TV -a couple of free drinks in the mini-fridge (–) - ~30 min. walk (?) to the city center and 40 min. to DongMen night market so it’s best to have a scooter or car. Taxis aren’t as plentiful in Hualien unlike the larger cities. -emergency exit sign is too large and far too bright at night and of course it can’t be turned off. -not a shady Taiwan-style “love motel” contrary to what some people might perceive -It seems to be more of a hotel than a motel

3 Days 2 Nights stay in their motel. Breakfast is not ok as food is usually cold. Bath tub is big but not comfortable. Tv in bathroom also in an uncomfortable position. Staffs is polite though. Location is not great as not close to anywhere. Convenient store needs to walk about 10mins

Outstanding Room for the price”
the price of the duo romance hotel rooms were very modest, so i was not expecting much before i arrived--simply a place to sleep for my two night stay in hualien. when i opened the door to my room, i was very impressed: huge bed with a well-furnished room that had high ceilings and a large tv. in addition to a small refrigerator and small hot-water tap for the in-room tea, the bathroom had a full shower separate from the jacuzzi. to top it off, there was a tv in the bathroom visible from the jacuzzi in case i really wanted to enjoy some lazy leisure time. only negative is the 5~6 minute walk from the station which might be too far if you have big bags. breakfast is standard taiwan hotel breakfast. i would definitely stay here again if/when i go back to hualien.

great place to be after a long day at Taroko gorge”
The front desk staff is very friendly but speaks limited english. The breakfast in the 6th floor is mainly local but very tasty. Fried eggs are offered as well. If you are not experienced with chopstick bring your own knife for spread. Largest bed and plasma tv we have seen in a Taiwanese hotel :-) For the jacuzzi you receive separate bath foam. If tired of sightseeing, dine at the traditional night market (food only) ZhiQiang night market (自强夜市) and head back to the hotel to relax in the hot tub. The jacuzzi itself is worth staying in Hualien in the Duo Romance. Easy to find as it has a bright neon on the roof saying "Motel"

Spacious and cosy hotel with jacuzzi”
Hotel is located 15mins walk away from Hualien station(without shelter). We perspired a lot during our walk to and fro the hotel. It was also very troublesome when it rained. Do bring along an umbrella to shelter yourself from the sun and rain. There are not much eateries around the hotel nor hualien station. Hence if you intend to stay longer at Hualien, I would suggest you to stay nearer to the 'city area' where there are more nice eateries and more crowded. We had to take a cab to zhiqiang night market every night for dinner(taxi ride cost around 150NT from hualien station to zhiqiang night market). The hotel do provide bicycle at a deposit of 200NT. The hotel's cafe was under renovation when we were there, hence there were no breakfast provided. However, we received breakfast voucher(60NT) instead for 2 cafés nearby which took us 15min and 20min walk respectively to reach. Food from those 2 cafés do not taste fantastic either. However, the receptionist did not give us the breakfast vouchers for our 3 nights stay at a go. We had to ask for it every morning from the recept. Our room is surprisingly spacious and cosy, similar to the photos shown on agoda web. There is dressing table with ceiling to floor mirror, sofa and a coffee table. The best part of this hotel is there is jacuzzi and tv in the bathroom. We could watch the tv while we enjoyed our jacuzzi after a tired day. But I would suggest you to run the jacuzzi once and drain off the water first before using as the water smell quite bad when we first turned on the jacuzzi. Do as what I suggested and it will be alright. Oh, there is even sauna in the shower area! With the amenities in the hotel and the price of S$70+ per night, I think this is pretty value for money. The only con is that the staff were not very helpful and informative on tourist attractions. They suggested us to visit the information counter at hualien station to have our questions answered.

Good location, nice bathroom, fast internet”
Stayed in their double room. Hotel is located within 10 minutes walk of Hualien Bus & Railway Stations. Room size is very big, large LCD TV with many channels, bar fridge with 2 bottles of water and 2 small cans of drinks free daily, very fast wired & wireless LAN connections, but no safe. Best part is the huge bathroom with a separate jacuzzi bathtub which has its own separate TV so you can soak & watch movies at the same time. Breakfast is decent enough for a nice meal.

5 mins walk from Hualien Railway and visitor centre. But about 3km away from the night market. Cab costs about 200NT. Breakfast is typical Taiwanese porridge and condiments and toast. Only gripe is that they do not serve tea at breakfast. Such a shame. Room is great, and can be considered, a waste of space. Plenty of space around you. Biggest LCD TV you will ever have in view of the spacious room. King sized bed. Complimentary coffee/tea/soft drinks and an on demand hot water faucet. No dressing table so everything needs to be done in the bathroom. Big bath tub and separate shower. TV available in the bathroom is a first for me. Relax in the tub while you watch your favourite programme. Attentive and friendly reception provides you with bath soak when you check in. You need to leave your keys behind when you go out.

We stayed three nights and had a wonderful time. The jacuzzi tub was great and even had a TV so we could watch movies while soaking in the tub. The breakfast was outstanding with a large variety of buffet items to choose from, and the hotel room was super comfortable and spacious. The hotel was walking distance to the bus and train station, and there were great restaurants nearby. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Love Hotel With a Pleasant Surprise”
I chose this hotel as it was the few hotel with avalible room for my travel period (Taroko Gorge Marathon Weekend). It looks like the typical motel from the outside, however the rooms gave me a pleasant surprise. Rooms are clean, very spacious, and very well furnished. The totel has a huge bath tub with jacuzzi functions and also a TV in the bath room. Its a true value for money without compromising on the quality of the rooms.

Close to train/bus station”
The location was really good. I hadn't paid much attention to the location when I selected the hotel, but it turned out it was a great choice. It's literally a 5 min walk from the train and bus station. We took the bus to the toroku gorge for 250NT/day and saved a good amount of money. Next to the stations was a visitor's center where you can get information on everything you need here including where to eat, how to use the bus, local maps, and etc. It made the area much easier to navigate. The buffet breakfast had some traditional boiled rice, some chinese dishes, and some basic western foods like toast and milk. The room had many TV channels including a couple of free adult entertainment. There's a TV in the bathroom viewable from the jaccuzi. Overall a pretty unique experience for us and would definitely consider staying here again the next time we visit.

Modern hotel near train and bus station”
We stayed in this hotel for 1 night. Unfortunately it was right after Matmo taifun and Taroko national park was closed :-( The hotel staff could speak very good English and was friendly. Room vas spacious with large bed and TV. There was no possibility to close curtains and one meter from window was some weary building with bars. Breakfast was not served in hotel, we received vouchers and map in Chinese and instructions that it is 15 mins walk so we gave up to try to find it. However the location of hotel is the best, near train and bus station, good starting point to make trips to Taroko.

very big room and impressive bath room”
the room is very big and equipped with big lcd tv. provides free bicycle to travel around the town, however, quality of the bike is poor. the hotel is besides a run down building, it does not look appelling from outside. also, it is not very near the night market (自强夜市), about 3 to 4 km walking distance and no interesting places near by. the hotel is about 400 m away from the train station.

Spacious room”
Very far from the train station, we had hard time looking for it as it was our first time in Hualien. Breakfast place is amazingly difficult to find (especially if you don't know how to read Chinese), even when we had scooter to look for the place. We asked around some local shops (jewelry store) and they don't even know where it is. Room is quite big and also the bathroom. However, my gf had bed bug bites the first morning and even got more the 2nd morning.
