Duong Dong hotels & places to stay

We were upgraded to the beachfront unit, absolutely loved it! The balcony of the unit opens to the beach and we were able to just step in and out without worries. This part of the beach is the cleaner and wider one in DUONG Dong area, we’re so thankful that we chose this resort, anymore up north the beaches can get quite dirty and narrow. Quiet at night, which is great because the other properties near the night market can get quite noisy. Staff are proficient in English and helpful.

The resort is around by the trees and flowers with a beautiful pool. Very good buffet breakfast with all different food for you to choose. All staff, front desk as well restaurant, are very helpful, professional and nice. We had a good time to stay there. It's located in an alley. In order to walk to the beach you need to walk to the main street then across it. It took us about 15' minute walk to the beach but the beach in Duong Dong is not clear and clean as Bai Sao so we don't swim there.

I spent 1 night at this resort. I feel comfortable with the environment, staff here. Although it 's a litte bit far from the center of Duong Dong town, it's quite good for relax. I also like walking along the beach at night. I can find near the resort at night some romantic places (bar or coffee shops - maybe) with fire camp and mellow light. The location for us to have breakfast also good.

I spent 6 nights in Thanh Kieu Resort with a friend. The bunglows were very clean and cosy, especially the bathroom partially ouside the bungalow and the terrace were amazing. The staff were very helpful and we felt welcome immediately upon our arrival. I'd wish to have such a high service level and service understanding also in Europe :-) Another plus is the beautiful location directly by the sea. With one minute of walk (if you have a garden bungalow) you get to the private beach with sunloungers and umbrellas that are for free for hotel guests. The center of Duong Dong is in walking distance (between 20-30 minutes walk) and it's absolutely safe to walk there during the night. We were also very satisfied about the arrangement of a snorkel trip and the renting of a motorcycle by Thanh Kieu Resort and the price was the same as the one would pay in places outside the hotel. The only point to improve is the breakfast. I'd have wished to have more Asian dishes (like Pho) for breakfast.

The resort is located about two kilometers (1.4 miles) from downtown Duong Dong, which is a nice walk or bicycle ride in the late afternoon breeze. The hotel is located on the hillside, so there is no private beach. However, the most beautiful beaches in Phu Quoc are Sao Beach (South) and Dai Beach (North), and it totally worth a separate trip. The main beach where most hotels and resorts are located is not that great. Therefore, from Daisy, you will get a terrific sunset view. We were very pleased with the staffs. Many of them are new, but they are very warm and willing to get out of their way to support us. Daisy also provides free bicycles (quite new and good quality).

Me and a friend stayed here for 3 nights. The 'resort' is brand new (and still feels a little unfinished) - it's not on the beach - but a short walk away from the main action of Long beach. The rooms are clean and have a ceiling fan (no aircon- I don't mind this) The outdoor bathroom gives it an exotic feel (as long as you don't mind frogs and lizards) The owner was friendly and happy to help. I think the best way to describe it is basic! There was nothing wrong but it felt unfinished. However, it served our needs and we had a nice time there. If I couldn't get a bungalow on the beach front I would stay there again happily. (Although, only stay on Long beach if you want the bars and access to Duong Duong) otherwise I imagine you can find somewhere more remote and quieter.

mai house hotel is ideally situated (10mins drive from duong dong) mid way along long beach and is an ideal tropical beach haven of tranquility. the rooms/bungalows are set just off the beach nestled beween the palm trees. the food was excellent the staff were extremely friendly. we were able to hire moped's from the hotel which enabled to drive around the island. didn't want to leave!

Good location- close to convenient store, food place and beach. Located at quiet place and good to have relax time . Need to have short walk to main road. 3 km to Duong Dong town by taxi cost about 5000 Vietnam Dong . My kids enjoy the pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast have variety types . Room big enough , we have booked the premier family room which is contained 2 queen size bed.

Friendly staff that are always ready to help. They went above and beyond to help us. Clean grounds as well as a clean comfortable room. A variety of foods available at the breakfast buffet. The beach was nice and safe and private for our hotel only. There were a couple of peddlers on the beach but they weren’t a nuisance at all. The location is good since it is a bit more of a quiet area than Duong Dong. You can easily walk to Duong Dong from the hotel. There are a lot of restaurants options around the hotel area. We had difficulty calling the hotel long distance to arrange our airport pick up. It would have been way easier if there was an email address for the hotel so we could use it to contact them. We didn’t realize that our stay also included a drop off at the airport as well at the end of our stay. We were accompanied by hotel staff in the vehicle for both our airport pick up from and drop off high made us feel safe.

My partner and I recently had 12 nights in a Garden View room and, on the whole, had a great stay. The hotel has a good location on Long Beach and is in walking distance of the Night Market in Duong Dong as well as many other restaurants, bars and hotels. The rooms are basic but spotlessly clean and have a fridge and air-con. Towels are replaced daily and you can also get fresh beach towels each day from reception. There are no safety deposit boxes in the rooms but reception will keep valuables for you. The one downside is that the walls are fairly thin and we did hear the guests in the next room quite a bit although they weren't very considerate and it did improve when they left and a new guest moved in. There is no mirror in the bedroom, just the bathroom, where there are no powerpoints but I asked for a mirror and they supplied a large one the following day. Breakfast in the restaurant on the beach is lovely and freshly prepared and the evening BBQ's are delicious too. The staff were friendly and helpful and we hired a moped and booked a boat trip through them too. Money exchange was avaiable but they weren't always prepared to exchange sterling and preferred US $ or Euros. We took advantage of the free foot massage and I had a manicure too and found the Spa to be very professional. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed in the cheapest/oldest of the rooms. Nice large rooms with small terrace outside, large bathroom, all very clean. Lots of sun beds on the beach either in the sun or in the shadow of the trees. Very friendly staff. Breakfast buffet with plenty of choice. Fresh fruit pancakes were great. About 10 minutes walk from downtown Duong Dong, but plenty of restaurants nearby. Staff tries hard, but hardly speaks English. We had a great stay and would go there again. At this moment absolute value for money, but they are building a lot of new things so prices will definitely go up.

I've booked airport pick up through hotel. Out from airport, couldn't find anyone holding signage of my name. Without choice, we took a taxi to hotel. Upon arrived, I was really fused with the bad arrangement. The receptionist who was on duty couldn't understand English well has to call the manager on duty to take over. The Manager on duty - Phurong Tan Phat, reacted professionally. He patiently understand my situation and apologized for the mistake made. He compensated us with rooms upgrade and complimentary transfer to airport when check out. During our stay, he tried his BEST to help us on transport arrangements within Phu Quoc. On the checked out noon, he ensured we had everything arranged properly and sent us off. I've stayed in so many hotels, this is the BEST manager who i've met. KEEP UP with the good job!

From airport pick-up throughout the stay the experience was great. The hotel is close enough to the town of Duong Dong to be very easily accessible and yet has a secluded location with its own stretch of beautiful beach. The hospitality is great, with ever-attentive and courteous staff and the room was spacious and comfortable. In-hotel dining is superb, and there are several cheaper restaurants just outside the hotel gate that cater to both Western and Vietnamese tastes.

Probably the best accomodation for the price we had in two months of travelling. Over the road from the beach. Central location. High standard of cleanliness. All bungalows large with a porch. Excellent breakfast buffet but unfortunately greedy people demolished it quickly and it was not replenished. They were even piling up their childrens plates! Pool was green for 3 days we were there but eventualy it was rectified. The pool area was lovely. We chose the accommodation for the pool and then unfortunately could not use it. Free shuttle to the airport. Ended up staying 6 nights. The receptionist did not understand English but the Manager could communicate quite well.

At first we booked 2 nights and we fall in love with this Hotel, so that we extend our stay for further 4 days. It is very familiar and the rooms are very bright. The Pool area is awesome, nice decorated and cozy. You can play free billiard all the time. Especially we like the personal at the reception. They were very kind, give you helpfully tips and can book a tour for you. They although took our postcards to the post office. Unfortunately there was one problem at the end of our stay: They wanted to charge us a bedsheet, due to of some stains on our sheet (supposed sunscreen). We are sure that these stains were not from us. First they made a big problem and want 350.000 Dong. The staff told us that they have to pay for the sheet by themselves if they wouldn’t charge us. We were very upset about that. So all in all a perfect stay in Phu Quoc. But take the advise of checking the sheet when you get you room;)

We stayed one night while we were waiting for our other hotel to be ready so we didn't use much at the hotel, but the rooms and beds were good. We had a nice balcony off our room which was nice. The gardens are very impressive. The beach and pool were nice. The location was great for access to the main shopping and eating area. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good. The Pho was amazing...one of the best I have ever had.

Green, cozy hotel. Perfect place for relax: body, mind and soul! Whole territory is covered with greenery, this helps to relax from big cities and to delight your eyes. The place is marvelous, each cottage has its’ small garden that distinguish the cottage from the main territory and gives you the feeling of peacefulness and quietness. We also liked the hammock, it’s just so amazing to lie in it in the evening under the moon and stars. Everything is thoroughly thought, each small piece in the environment. The staff is friendly and always ready to help, and no “over helping” from their side. Delicious cuisine! That’s’ true to main courses and to deserts as well. You just can’t say no to their home-made ice-cream and smoothies. You can feel yourself like at home there, in the best sense of this word.

We stayed out of season and had a really cheap deal. It rained a lot for the three night we were there and this gave the place a beautiful fresh tropical feel. It was still very warm. It was wonderful sitting reading books on the veranda of our hut listening to the sound of rain pelt on the big green leafy palms. We managed a day discovering the island by scooters which was really fun (although the maps / road signage was challenging!) On a recent of the other hotels along the beach we thought this to be the best choice. We would definitely return but next time would opt for a sunnier season! Highly recommended.

Apart from the location being very very central in Duong Dong, this resort has many things to offer. Great breakfast including eggs, pancakes made to order and a choice of fresh fruit, bacon, ham, bread, spring rolls, noodles, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and a daily extra. Off course the buffet offers the very tasty Vietnamese coffee and also tea and fruit-juice. We loved the sweet old lady helping out with the breakfast! She was so nice bringing us extra pancakes and fruit to our table. Brilliant hospitality! The private rooms all have an open air outdoor bathroom including some plants which is very nice and tropical! The resort has a nice pool and offers the use of bikes free of charge. The reception will help you out with the rental of a scooter (150.000 dong per day) and with the booking of a tour. The resort is set in a tropical garden with fruit, flowers and tropical plants (e.g. tea!).

Nice little resort. Bungalow was good size, clean and good value. Wifi was good. Decent breakfast included. Swimming pool was clean and reasonable size. Location good for local bars and restaurants. 20 minute walk or short taxi to the night market in Duong Dong. Only negative about the location is that it is not on the beach but it is only a short walk away. Reception will give you a voucher for access to the beach via Moon Resort, however, unfortunately Moon resort is closed down so it is a little difficult to locate the path to it at first, and then you have to walk through the overgrown ruins of Moon resort to access the beach, where you will have to pay for sun loungers. Better to walk a bit further towards Sunset bar (about 10 minutes walk) for a nicer stretch of beach. On the whole, enjoyed our stay at Mai Phuong Binh and would stay here again.

I had originally been staying at the Novotel, but I didn’t like the location, so I booked my last two nights at Long Beach Resort. I’m so glad I did and wish my whole stay had been here. I paid a fraction of what the Novotel costed me, and I enjoyed my stay at Long Beach Resort so much more. You really get a lot for what you pay here. Yes, the resort is a little old and could use some sprucing up, but it’s still very charming and you can’t beat the location. The pool is absolutely lovely and the beach was very clean. The location is in walking distance of Duong Dong, but it’s far enough from the center of town so noise was never an issue. The staff was also very great, and my bed was sooo comfortable. The only thing I would change is the towels. They’re very stiff, and they hurt to use after a shower when you’re sunburnt. Lol. Fluffier towels would have been nice! If and when I go back to Phu Quoc, I will stay at Long Beach Resort again!

It is easy to locate and close to the center of Duong Dong town - the most populous town in Phu Quoc and sits at the center of Phu Quoc. It’s just 2 years old so the hostel is in great condition and well managed. Scooter rental cost is VND150k and you can basically go to anywhere on the island within a day. The atmosphere is great with people from all around the world but it could be bothersome for those seeking quite place. However it’s a great place to make friend. The only downside is weak wifi signal in some rooms except for the bar. This place is suitable for solo traveler of group of friends but rooms are pretty small for family holiday

The place is fantastic - would rate it 4.8 stars. Bed is the best one we have seen in over 2 months, shared kitchen is a bonus (breakfast can now be ordered at an extra cost)..Bathroom has a rain shower stall (no wet floors) and a bathtub with a shower as well. Pham and his staff are wonderful - very very helpful. It is a little removed from the centre, (very quiet) so a motorbike or car is really neeeed - he does have new bicycles for use. 5 minute walk to the beach .Fresh fruit & veggie market is 50 meters away. We really enjoyed our week here - second time this year on Phu Quoc - can't really say enough good things about the place. Will DEFINATLEY STAY here again!

This resort was a beautiful place with tastefully decorated rooms that were clean and comfortable. I particularly like the massive beds that facilitated great nights sleep. The pool was big and nestled in the middle. A good selection of dishes were available for breakfast, although on one morning some of these dishes were not replemished as time went on. The only two flaws were the location as the hotel was tucked away down some dark unlit dirt tracks making it difficult to find, especially at night. Also, although the staff did try their best, it was obvious that their English skills were not up to scratch and it took a lot of time and patience to communicate with them at times. They did have the right attitude though, so perhaps some English lessons would help?

Its a lovely small place, with a small pool. Quiet. Its south of Duong Dong which is a bit lesser populated. We booked no breakfast. cannot judge that. Its in a side road of the main road. The beach is good to reach: go to the main road, turn right, then on the next small road left, and after 30 meters turn right. you are in 5 minutes there. If you turn left, you can find many eateries within 10 min walking distance (Bun Cha Ha Noi, German Bakery, Yen Ba, and many others)
