Wish we'd stayed here longer”

We had stayed elsewhere earlier on in our stay but after a side trip to Chiang Rai had to stop back in Chiang Mai for a night. We really wished we'd stayed at Dusit the whole time. We were initially going for less expensive places because usually we're rarely in the room, but on this trip I was unwell and had to take time out. It would have made all the difference had we stayed at the Dusit D2. The room was lovely and had all the 'western' hotel touches you would expect. It also had a super comfy window seat which would have been great to sit and read at and a nice change from sitting in the bed the whole time I was off my feet. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and there are English TV channels on hand as well as a DVD player. Things were designed well in the room—for example power points were located near the kettle (in many other places you have to drag the kettle over to the floor or bathroom in order to use it). Its a shame the restaurant doesn't compete well on price with the wide selection on offer just outside the door step. Located right on the night bazaar but don't worry - the rooms are peaceful. Also one of the few places where the staff had excellent English so you felt confident in making requests. The fortune cookie at turn-down was a nice surprise. It was a great place—could have stayed longer.

Contemporary, minimalist styling”

this hotel is very centrally located if you wish to be in the night market area. chiang mai is not that big to begin with, but if you wish to be in the center hub, this hotel is suitable. staff are all very youthful, hip looking in skinny jeans, spikey hair and keds/converse - you get the picture! very friendly, warm and hospitable staff. i had an issue with the shower/tub on day 1, (the water readily ran over the lip of the tub and on to the floor). the staff attended to it immediately and switched me to another floor with a stall shower only. no issues or incidents after that. my hotel pricing came with breakfast included. the breakfast buffet was abundant with a wide variety of selection for varying tastes - standard (western) breakfast fare, asian selections, fruits, a very respectable breakfast baked goods selection. my pricing package also included free wi-fi access. the set up worked well and seamlessly. very pleased with this feature. i would consider this hotel again should i visit chiang mai in the future.

D2 Dusit, Chiang Mai”

I loved this hotel. The design is superb and we feel the quality in every detail. The restaurant is fabulous and if, during his stay, we want to afford a restaurant a little more expensive, is the D2 need to go. The staff is more than charming and bend over backwards to you without servility. The day of our arrival, a cake awaited us for our honeymoon and they had noticed that the anniversary of my husband fell during our stay. Rebelote: cake in the room. Every day, a little present waiting for us in the room: confectionery, keychain, ball ... massage in the evening, they put a small device to hunt mosquitoes and bad odors from cigarettes, for smokers. The bathrooms are really quality. It is situated close to the downtown and night bazaar. It can do everything on foot and frankly, despite the monsoon, which was intense few days in Chiang Mai, we have no regrets thanks to this excellent hotel, full of caring for its customers.

Beautiful hotel right next to Night Bazaar”

I really like this hotel. I think the location is great. It's about a 10 minute walk to the busier areas of Chiang Mai but there's still plenty to do/eat nearby. The hotel is right next to the Night Bazaar which is great if shopping is your thing. The rooms are beautiful and clean. I love how they have this little orange box in the room and each day, they put something different in the box. The first night I arrived, the box had some small berry-like fruits in them. The next day, there were some rice cracker treats in the box. The third day there was an herbal compress in the box. I really like this mystery box concept. Overall, a great hotel and I'd definitely stay here again.

Enjoyable stay”

It's definitely not a 5-star property but certainly a very solid 4-stars. I never tested their spa or restaurant because the nearby streets have so much variety of restaurants, massage places, and shopping. It's very fun area at night time when all the bazaars and street shops are open, huge shopping areas. All staff is excellent, polite, and well-trained; this includes concierge, bellmen, front desk, even a friendly security guard. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. If I returned Chiang Mai, I would happily stay again but interestingly I stopped and looked at rooms inside the sister property, Dusit Princess, they looked just as nice (but it's an older peoperty) were 40% cheaper, and I liked that location also. I don't think you could go wrong at either hotel.

Chiang Mai Dusit D2 Hotel ”

Beautiful hotel, central location, close to night market, near excellent restuarants on Ping River, most courteous and helpful staff ever seen...local tours, tours and drivers to Golden Triangle, Laos, Myanmar. No charge in room internet access, staff even helped us get last minute Thai Airline tichets delivered to the hotel lobby. Dusit 2 in walking distance to old part of Chiang Mai. One block away from night bazaar where excellent Thai food street vendors are abundant, tasty, and cheap. Excellent outside and inside security making us always feel safe.

Warm & hospitable”

I love the modern & bright decor especially the orange theme for the hotel. The room is nice & comfortable. The hotel staff (especially the front office)are really friendly, helpful and offer superb service. I want to commend them on their warmth and hospitality which really makes the day for us hotel guests. Close proximity to the night bazaar as well as easy access to other areas of interest, food & shopping make this a value for money hotel. I would definitely stay in this hotel again when I visit Chiang Mai again!

The Best Accomodation in Chiang Mai City”

The best concept hotel i've stayed...clean (inside hotel and hotel surrounding), beautiful panorama and lobby, comfortable room and good complementary, services, even the room was small but the interior e.g Sofa (sitting area) are very comfortable. Good Services, welcoming and friendly staff, good facilities..like internet room..spa...strategic area for shopping and get everything from night bazaar...f i have a chance to go Chiang mai i will make sure to book and stay there again..

Chiang Mai Dusit D2 Hotel ”

we found this hotel on the internet via agoda while in phuket, knowing nothing about d2 dusit chiang mai. what a find for the price. located a stones throw from the night market, several blocks by tuk tuk from three of the best restaurants in chiang mai,staff helped with guide tours, plane reservations, sites of interest. complimentary in room internet access, clean and tidy room, sleek zen design, nothing overdone. now plan to stay at dusit thani hotel in bangkok because we now know the quality of this hotel chain. in room thai massage for about $15/hour.

great location, clean and comfortable”

it was very clean Dusit hotel that carried its quality standard of clean, comfortable with very friendly and excellent service. Booked for two nights but added two more, so we were satisfied and would stay again. it was so convenient to walk outside to the night time bazaar of food and fun goods. many foreigners in this area and so very busy. Thai people in Chiang Mai lived up to reputation of friendliness but also overly persistant and annoying cab drivers. Seemed kind of silly to push taxi service out of an area where most want to go to and already there. Food is great out on the street.

Staff, location”

Very efficient and friendly staff. Location is great. The night bazaar (one-minute walk), Starbucks and other coffee shops (2-5 minutes) and various small restaurants, including Thai, French, Italian (10 minutes or less). The hotel is about 75 meters from main street and my room had double-pane windows, so you won't be disturbed by traffic noise. Only disappointment was swimming pool. Too small for serious swimming. But Chiang Mai is great for walking around.

This is a super enjoyable stay ”

My stay is excellent because I was welcomed by staff immediately after I arrived. The problem is we have a large child who was 15 years old and 4 adults. Every hotel in Chiang Mai require us to add a bed. Only D2 didn't require or force us to do so! The beds are already large enough!!! Besides the staff are very passionate and give us fortune cookies everyday!!! So nice of them!!! Furthermore, the location is excellent!!! Close to old city and night bazaar:) so many lovely people around us and there are a lot to shop with!!! Close to warorot market, the local Thai market:)

Great hotel, perfect location”

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the D2 Chiang Mai hotel. It does not have a "colonial" charm like some other hotels in Chiang Mai but is of esthetic modern design. As we are always for work in Chiang Mai and not for pleasure we especially enjoy staying at this hotel. Rooms are clean and have a shower stall which we prefer over a bathtub. Only negative, the TV flat screen is rather small, but the comfortable bed makes up for this. Will stay here again for sure next time..forgot to say: the breakfast is great too...albeit not included in the price.

Best service I have ever experienced”

In 45 years of traveling I have to rate Dusit D2 in Chiang Mai as the best hotel I have ever experienced for service. Congratulations to whoever does the staff training and to the staff. I could not fault the staff. They were friendly, efficient and a step ahead regarding my needs. The hotel has a great atmosphere and is away from the main road, so quieter for sleeping. Bed very comfortable. Rooms spacious and well appointed. Only thing my room had a bath which you have to step into. I would not suggest this for an older person. Easy to slip. Best to ask for a room with a shower. The shower head is too low also. A bit awkward to use. Wooden surface areas in the room need re-surfacing and carpet could do with changing. A bit dated. However overall I had a great stay. Above things are minor and I would highly recommend this hotel in Chiang Mai.

Modern hotel”

clean, modern, comfortable room”

I received a good price on agoda therefore I decided to stay there. It's located 2 minutes from the night bazaar and the internet is fast. The pool is average but the decor of the hotel is nice. There is a modern fitness room on the top floor with nice views of Chiang Mai. I recommend this hotel if it is in your budget.

Great service and location!”

The staff at DusitD2 were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located beside the night bazaar which was very convenient, albeit a little noisy as we could hear the band from our room. Our room was also spacious and clean! Would definitely go back to DusitD2 again for my next trip.

Great spot!”

We try to plan a getaway every quarter and usually we go out to nature but this time we tried something different. We wanted to be right in the middle of bustling activity. D2 was the perfect place to enjoy all the features of the Chiang Mai night bazaar. Restaraunt options were plentiful but you will not be dissappointed by eating in the hotel. The staff was friendly, courteous and efficient. The retro look of the interior design was tastefully done as well.

Memorable stay at Dusit D2”

Hotel has excellent location.Just 2 minutes from night market.Even river front cafes and bars are 10 minutes walk.The room was very clean.The USP of the hotel is the exceedingly helpful,smiling and friendly staff.On arrival we were escorted to our room by Anny Shufflebarger who ensured everything in the room was in perfect order and made us feel absolutely at home.I had a minor injury in my knee which was bleeding.Tippovan,the housekeeping staff went beyond the call of her duty and provided first aid immeditely.The hotel was running various schemes on food especially breakfast 'One for One Free'. For 650 bahts Buffet Breakfast for two was worth every penny.Having stayed at Dusit Thani in Dubai recently and now at Dusit D2 I am overwhelmed with their hospitality.My first choice of hotel in any city would be Dusit,if it has a branch in that city.Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visitng Chiang Mai.

Nice and convenient”

I had a wonderful time at Dusit 2 Hotel in Chiang Mai. The service was good, very nice rooms, was given a upgrade, price was reasonable and they are located conveniently within just 50 meter to main road to Night Bizzare and Night market with lots of shops an restaurants. I would recommend others to stay there and I myself plan on staying at the Dusit @ in Chiang Mai, Thailand again. Thanks for nice stay. This was my 2nd trip to Dusit 2 hotel.
