“It was a perfect stay and I promised to come back.”

Although the weather in Hakone is cooler than Tokyo and still very cold when I came in the middle of March, I was welcomed by the warmth of the family and their bathrooms. I tried speaking Japanese but since the guests are mostly English-speakers, I am writing it in English. The place is a quiet suburb not so far from Hakone-yumoto station. You can feel the ryokan vibe from the outside of the guesthouse. The owner and the staff are lovely people and they can speak English well. It is clean and cozy inside with heaters. The room, the dining room, the onsen bath, and even the shared bathroom and washroom are also clean, which I was really amazed by. Of course, the spotlight here is the outside onsen bath. With 500 yen for half an hour, it is really enough for me to enjoy. Not to mention the indoor bath is free! Hell yeah. I also like the little coffee and tea corner, as much as I love every little detail of the guest house. I may look dumb as I promised I would come back because I was in love with this place, but I am going to plan to come back. Thank you very much. Let's meet again next time!

    “A calm feeling.”

I used it for a 2-night, 3-day trip. With a calm environment and non-intrusive service, it was a relaxing three days. The open-air hot spring was also amazing. It felt as comforting as home, and I want to come back again.

“Cozy Stay With a Cute Dog Companion”

I had a great stay at Fuji Hakone Guest House! The room was simple, clean, and cozy with traditional tatami style. The private onsen was a huge bonus and perfect after a long day exploring Hakone. The hosts were very kind and welcoming, and their dog Laito was absolutely adorable — he made the stay feel even more homely. Overall, a warm and relaxing place to stay in Hakone!

    “Old-fashioned”

It feels like a guesthouse, and I recommend it for people from abroad. Perhaps because it was a rainy day with a lot of humidity, I was a bit concerned about the smell in the room. We made a last-minute reservation and got a discount for staying that day, but I felt that the original price was a bit high, even for the high season. However, the staff was kind, so I was able to have a pleasant stay. Thank you very much!

    “Lovely Hakone Stay!!”

My boyfriend and I had a great two nights here, it was very comfortable, all the staff was lovely, and the onsen at the end of the day was such a highlight! Thanks so much for a great stay :)
