the room had all the necessary facilities one expects of a three-star hotel, and these were renewed each day. the hotel management generously allowed me breakfast vouchers, which were not in the original deal. true, the view from my room was of a building site, but that would explain the discount: just draw the curtain! the external appearance of the hotel is that of a grim red-bricked fortress, but the interior is spacious and modern in its design. it seemed to appeal both to chinese coach parties and young foreign travelers, which perhaps explained the somewhat loud trance music in the reception hall. although a little out of the way in the north-eastern suburb of yangpu, it was only 15 minutes walk to dalian road metro station on circular line four.

Cheap hotel in a decent location from the bund!”
Stayed a week at the FX hotel due to its very cheap flash deal. Decent location from the bund. The mrt is only ten minutes away and connects you to the heart of shanghai a few stops away. Cabbing at night is cheap from most parts of shanghai since the hotel is pretty central. Staff was helpful and friendly. Check in check out was a breeze and the bed was definitely one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on.

It was a little bit far from the nearest station,”
I had booked this hotel because I had to stay in Shanghai for a night because of transfer. The location is acceptable, it took me 20 minutes from the DaLianLu station. So I think you might want to stay here even if you have large baggage and want to choose a hotel as close as posssible to a station. Let me give you more information. Acutually it was a late at night that I chekked in but the staff was so warm enough to ask for anything. I asked her if I could call a cab early in the morning and there were places in which I can eat something. And she gave me the detail. Adding to the staff's hospitality, the room was amazing as well. The space was so large and I was surprised to see a can of Coke was complimentary as well as the bottle of mineral water. The bathroom was divided into a shower room and a toilet room. Considering the price, I think this hotel is worth staying!

this hotel have seperate toilet n shower..big room and comfortable.the heater function well.during my time staying there, they are upgrading the hotel..change the floor and paint..but i am ok with that since they only do the renovation during day time..and during day time we go to city which abt 20mnt by taxi with charge not more than 25yuen..but u can also go to city by bus with only charge you 2yuen..i tried and very convenient..the receptionist can speak english fluently..i will stay this hotel if i go to shanghai again..nearby the hotel(when you walk to bus stop)you can find massage shop..they charge only 50yuen for 1 hr body massage or foot refleksology..pls try...u will enjoy it..

Good Value and Clean Comfortable room.”
This was good value for my four nights. Room and bathroom were both clean and comfortable. Hot water and heating were also efficient. Free wifi is also available. Hotel was under renovation which will enhance it. Only drawbacks are 15 minute walk to Subway-metro station and two metro lines to East Nanjing Road metro station and the Bund - about one hour. Location is quiet surrounded by other buildings and a large construction site.

Good value hotel in Shanghai”
Good value hotel 10 minute walk from a metro station. From Pudong airport take metro line 2 to Century Avenue and change to line 4 and take it 3 stops to Dalian Rd station. Walk out through exit 1,walk up the street and turn right on the second road past a Tesco supermarket and you will soon see the green FX logo on top of a red building.

It was good except if the corridors of the hotel can be cleaned up or refurnished, it will be good because it looks so dirty and dusty. Carpet needs to be changed. It was very convenient for us to travel to the city for shopping and sightseeing as the bus station is just opposite the hotel. With RMB2 per person, we can travel to all places of attractions. We just need to walk around 10 minutes to the underground monorail station to go to the airport with RMB6 per person. It's very affordable and convenient. We enjoyed all the good food in the city with all the various type of dumplings and also good and valuable shopping at Huaihai Road and wholesaler market near YuYuan. We bought many types of souvenirs and scarfs at the shops just before entering YuYuan. This hotel provided value for money hotel stay as people used to say that hotels in Shanghai is very expensive. The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, giving us the informations and directions of the places we want to visit.

Clean and Modern”
A modern hotel with film posters in the hall ways. Close to metro line. Food in the area but only local style. Someway for the Bund but taxis were plentiful. Breakfast didnt look great but nearby noodle shops were cheap and of a good standard esp Hui Muslim place. Front desk spoke English.

Nowhere near the Bund, but great value.”
I chose this hotel because it is near to a friend's house so it met my needs, but the description "North Bund" is a little misleading. The hotel staff were friendly, but it was hit or miss as to whether they spoke English. There were tour groups checking in and out every day, so it was often noisy in the morning. All of that having been said, this hotel is exceptional value, with our room having a shower, bath, and separate toilet.

Far from metro but good value”
Its a bit far walking from Dalian metro station especially if you have lot of luggage, otherwise just add 12 extra mins to your daily activity. Room floor was old, but the bathroom nice and clean. Room had a big window but you just see some other buildings. Corridor and elevator very dirty and in the big empty hall there are some renovations going on. There are some cheap local food places and shops very close and a dodgy but cheap massage place where the not soo good looking womans always try to sell you some extra service ;). Its a good hotel because of its price.

This is a really economy and valuable place ”
To be honest, this is the most valuable hotel that i have stayed. I can never imagine around can have such economy, clean place to stay. The location is a bit off the central, but still quite near to the train station - around 10 mins walk. Also free water and room clean servies are provided everyday. I would definitely recommend this stay in shanghai! In addition, I will consider other FX's hotel in other states :)

It states North Bund, tbh, nothing to do with Bund at all, I would say same as other hotels. it takes about 40-50mins and 3 transits to get to town...but its cheap anyway.

Not actually on the Bund, hotel being rennovated”
Our stay at FX Hotel Shanghai North Bund was acceptable for the price we paid ($45/night) but I would have been disappointed if we had paid more. There were no dining facilities on site, every floor was being rennovated and the front desk staff were ambivalent to customers, not very helpful. It is a 10 minute walk to Dalian Rd. subway station and from there you will need to transfer to a different line to get to the Bund. Bedsheets were clean but had holes in them, hotel overall seems worn down and old.
