General Luna hotels & places to stay

Beautiful!! The staff were all very helpful. CHEAP quality massages! it's about a 5 minute scooter ride from all the action in General Luna and about 5 min scooter ride the other direction to Cloud 9 Boardwalk. Just a forewarning (not against the hotel) There is no pharmacy in General Luna area. Nowhere even sells advil or cough syrup. The closest one was in a different town about 30-40 min scooter ride. So make sure you pack some meds because we sure needed it.

Pros: spacious room, quiet area, near the beach with nearby Indonesian resto, flexible check-in, check-out times, friendly staff and lovable dogs nearby. The staff can also help you arrange bike rentals, island hopping tours and van transfers and massage appointments. Cons: Facility improvements are in progress so expect some construction noise sometimes. The beach front isn't exactly swimmable. No breakfast included. The place is meant for real peace and quiet so don't expect any entertainment inside the room (no tv or audio system available). The restaurant has authentic Indonesian cuisine cooked by their hospitable and accommodating Manager, Kaka. This place can potentially be a winner once they have all completed the additional villas and renovations. Also, the place is nearby the General Luna market area, nearby good resto and Cloud 9. Simply rent a scooter and you can enjoy all the tourist spots nearby without hassle.

I was in General Luna(GL), Siargao, on a short holiday on the holy week with some friends from Uni. I booked a poolside deluxe on the first night and standard room on the second night. There are 3 sections you can stay in the hotel: ocean view, poolside, and the standard rooms facing the main hotel building enclosing the reception area, lounge and restaurant. Both rooms we stayed in are very quiet, clean and decent sizes. The staffs in the hotel were very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel has a good-sized pool in the middle of the garden and next to the pool is the bar with a billiard table. Just after the bar are some few outside tables for eating and lounging under the sun. Overall, I am very pleased I stayed in Cherinicole. It is a very pleasant place to stay for a relaxing holiday. It is an old hotel but well kept. If you're a lux traveller with a modern taste this may not be you, but if you're a person looking for some quaint character but decent, this is for you.

I've always loved Siargao since I was a kid, having lived there for a few years. General Luna, specifically has always had a spot in my heart. Staying here made it even better. It was my first time visiting with just my partner and it truly could not have been more magical. The upgrade to the ocean view room was a welcomed surprise (originally booked for garden view but a family needed it more). It was wonderful being able to see the ocean in the morning when we wake up. The people are absolutely few of the nicest people I've encountered in the hospitality industry. Dan, JR, Mimi, Ren, Rica, and Cze, thank you for making our stay memorable. Food is great too! But you do have the freedom to check out nearby restaurants/eateries. On the last day, we got transferred to the Tropical room, which wasn't as great because we had shower problems there, but it didn't matter so much. Lastly, it would be perfect if Internet capabilities are upgraded. Stable and fast.

Reef has one of the nicest beach fronts out of the hotels we checked out. The staff was also very nice and helpful. We booked an apartment room and the place was clean and spacious enough for 2 people. As mentioned in the title, the hotel is located between the surfing spots and "nightlife" type places. However, it is not particularly near or next to anything. But a trike ride is P20 anywhere within General Luna, so it's not too bad. Also, the restaurant has a nice view of the beach front and the food is really good and fairly priced (not the cheapest but also not the priciest one we've been to). I'd recommend the place to couples or family who would like a quiet place to stay in general Luna.

Patrick's is a nice place on the south end of town. It's a little quieter here, but many restaurants and shops within walking distance. A trike ride is 20 pesos per person to cloud 9 and Offshore Bar ( my favorite). We did not have hot water but the air-conditioned and tv worked. You can ask the front desk for fresh towels and linen service/ room cleaning when you leave for a tour but I prefer a little privacy. I had no issues with security or theft. Generally Siargao is a crime free destination. The restaurant at Patrick's has a great breakfast for about 190-250. The pancakes are the biggest and fluffiest I have ever had. It's nice to chill on the beach in one of the many open cabanas and beer and drinks are moderately priced. Scooter rental is 600 here as opposed to 400-500 in town but they have nice helmets and the bikes are new. We booked our tours at Kermit's Resort and on Facebook. Remas Letchon chicken two blocks south is the best, Altrova wood fired pizza 5 minutes north is A1.

The moment we arrived, we felt like we were so at home already! Ate Lisa, the resort staff, was so helpful with our entire stay, and was super accommodating. And when were hanging out by the veranda, our friendly neighbors invited us to join their little group right away! The nice shower head with the HOT SHOWER was definitely a plus. My favorite was the hammock and the chill out area outside. WiFi was relatively fast as well, since they have the routers spread out in the property. At one point there was a frog in the bathroom and then 2 cockroaches but we just informed the staff and were able to get rid of it right away. Would definitely recommend this place! The location is right in the center of General Luna, too. Accessible to the nice bars and restaurants like Kermit, Harana, Bravo's, etc. Will come back to this place for sure! :)

Loved the free paddle boards that were available all the time and convienece of renting a motorbike or scooter from the property. Staff was kind and they always had smiles on their faces. We stayed through a minor tropical storm and they ensured the guest safety by clearing the coconuts and potential falling debris from the trees. The only con could be the location outside of General Luna, but I actually preferred the peace and tranquility that you can’t get near Cloud 9.

La Luna is located between General Luna and Cloud 9. From the first time I walked in I felt welcome and at home, the staff and owners were very friendly and accommodating. My room where located on top of the restaurant but I never had any problems with noise or commotion from below. The room were large and clean and have AC. The bathroom were clean with hot and cold shower. I stayed for 20 nights. The hotel is ~100m from the beach. The staff arranged a surf instructor for me. Motor bikes and boat trips and other activities can also be arranged by the staff. We where usually a small group going surfing which was a great way to meet new friends. The restaurant is the best I tried on the island! Wifi was perfect in the restaurant but limited in my room. I'll stay at La Luna the next time I'm visiting Siargao!

Absolutely beautiful! Stunning views, warm hospitality, and peace & quiet. A great place to go and unplug, and bond with family. Food was simple and delicious. We would definitely go back! One thing we realized we missed out on was the Magpupungko Tide Pools which are relatively nearby :) Budget at least 30 mins travel time (via trike) to the main area of General Luna :)

Situated between General Luna and the Cloud 9 surf break, Turtle Surf Camp is an ideal location if you're into meeting other like-minded travelers. Although they don't serve food, they do have a kitchen that you can use to cook your own food. There are plenty of eateries and restaurants in the area if cooking isn't your thing. Turtle has their own boat and conducts tours to surf breaks around the island. as well as island hopping tours if you're not a surfer. We were on the island for two weeks and stayed at four different places with Turtle being our last stop. Next time we are in Siargao we plan to stay at Turtle Surf Camp the entire time.

Loved our stay here at Eddie's Beach Resort! The room was spacious. Bed and washroom was very clean. There's a mosquito net on top of the bed, but don't use it though. We untangled it just to see what it looks like and it stinks. It smells old and used for 20 years without washing/replacement. On our last day at the resort, the air conditioner stopped working though. Good thing we were leaving in two hours and didn't happen on other days. Other than that, everything is excellent. Location is great; right in front of the beach. A few minutes walk from General Luna town. 12 minute scooter ride to Cloud 9. Staff are super nice and friendly! They take care of your needs. They got our van for us to go to the airport. We even got drunk and partied with them on our last night at RhumBar. another plus on location because it's a one-minute walk to RhumBar. Siargao Tip: go to RhumBar every monday and wednesday. That's where everyone is partying. Their food at the restaurant is sooooooo goood. Not a lot of people know how good it is. Their chef cooks good and gives you a great amount of portion for the price. It just takes amount of time because the chef cooks everything from scratch.

One of the best places to stay when you.re in Siargao. Was travelling with my siblings and their family and we all enjoyed our stay there. The place is quiet with only 5 or 6 rooms which means less people, less crowds. The staff did a magnificent job in covering all our needs from arranging habal2 rides, BingGo bookings, cooking and preparing the delicious food, etc. They (Raphael, Jorgie, and Venus the owner) were just amazing! Note that there is no beachfront though.

Siargao Paraiso Resort is a beautiful resort strategically positioned on Siargao Island. From the first moment you are met by the Paraiso staff you know you are in for a extraordinary holiday. I didn't quiet know what to expect and am pleased to say that the beautiful photo's and video you see online do not do the place justice as its simply amazingly beautiful. The staff provide you with luxury 5 star service making you feel like its your own tropical beachside paradise. The chef create's the menu daily depending on what is freshest and seasonal at the market that day, along with your personal tastes and preferences. We enjoyed a wonderful variety of fresh shellfish, seafood, chicken, pork and accompanied by salads and vegetables grown in a organic garden and the freshly squeezed fruit juices were one of the highlights for me and my family. If your'e looking for a place to relax and rejuvenate , Siargao Paraiso Resort is all that and more.

This is a small well managed beach resort a bit outside but close enough to tourist restaurants, nightlife and shops in General Luna. A bit outside means it has its own and useful sandy beach, and remains quiet during the night from the all the noise in the "city centre". The resort has its own small restaurant / lounge area with reception. Within walking distance there are also a couple of eateries as an option. Staff is very friendly, drinks are good and food ok. Reception can organize boat rides, scooter rental and airport transfers etc. Even wi-fi worked well. I stayed on a large beach side ground floor room with dual queen-beds, and literally you walk from the room to the beach and to the water - brilliant. Please note rooms are not attended every day - reception will remind you on this. Downside in the rooms is lack of a fridge, and no TV. Then again … I assume no one comes to Siargao to watch telly … but families with small children may find this odd. Good place to stay anyway!

The Buddha resort is on General Luna which apart from Cloud 9 are the only "happening" places there. It's still a very undeveloped island which is great since it does not draw the same crowds as Boracay. Don't expect wild parties or neon lights at night - most people go there to make use of the surf spots which are accessible to every level. We did a beginners introduction to surfing and spent a morning out on the waves trying to catch some waves. Staff at Buddha is very attentive and we rented a bike from Chris for a days worth of exploring the island. My tip is to also go and see the Rockpool near Pilar and go there by motorbike to make most of the scenery. we intended to stay for 3 days but heard that a storm was coming which often means that flights are cancelled. we were lucky to having rebooked our flight, since all other flights afterwards were cancelled!

The cons were not a big deal to me and I’d definitely stay here again in the future! Pros: Right on the beach! This is what matters most to me Clean Strong air conditioning and ceiling fan Friendly and accommodating staff Walking distance to everything in General Luna Cons: WiFi didn’t reach my villa on the south end of the property No soap in shower or bathroom A new villa was still under construction (causing load noises in the morning)

Location was amazing! Its steps away from almost every resto and and bars. Staffs were very helpful. We're all pretty aware of the shortage of water supply in the Island so it was understandable that sometimes there is no running water, however they provide around 7 gallons of water everyday for us to use. So it wasn't really an issue. The location and how clean the place was over shadowed the issue with water. Plus when we dined at barrel they kindly gave as a bit of discount. Such a huge bonus! Guys you have to try their food (name of the resto and I believe the owner of the apartment is BARREL)! the chicken burger, fries, quesadillas, roast chicken and fried rice are our favorites(pretty much the whole menu lol)! the food they sell is probably the best in the island! Enough about the food, YES I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS APARTMENT! :)

i like the home stay style of the villa, the staff actually wouldnt care if what do you really want, but definitely if you ask from them as much as they could provide they will. Just keep the house clean and not too much noise,. And please love the dogs! I am not a pet lover but the dogs are really lovely' i am a solo traveller so i would recomend this, cause i prefer to just have a restful night in a very comfy solo room. I went there to find out siargao not the place where i will stay, iwasnt able to say goodbye and thankyou to maria cause what i mention earlier they would care, they dont give such hassle, for checking in and checking out ; just keep the house clean' and respect'

Total mess with room. Booked on Agoda single bungalow with 2 beds, 68sq m. Upon arrival a receptionist informed us about double booking for the same bungalow and we were moved to a bungalow under renovation. Manager informed us that reason we moved to another bungalow is electrical problem. Next day we were put in a small bungalow. Second bed was a mattress on a floor. Tried to solve a problem by calling Agoda. Had to show a manager/owner original booking on Agoda with amenities included. After 3 night sleeping on the floor, we were moved to original bungalow I booked on Agoda. Nobody offered any compensations. Facilities worn out. Cleaning service by request. After moving to original bungalow everything was ok. Still very confused feelings about property.
