For transportation, the air tickets are adaptable from Ho Chi Minh City or Ha Noi, Vietnam. On the island, better to stay at Duong Dong town, center of the island. From there you can rent car, motobike or take taxi to famous spots.

For those looking to relax, this is a great place.

Maily centres around island tours, snorkling and diving. Hard to find any western food or decent coffee. Taxis easy and efficient to use.

If you find the right place for it. God bless such places still exist. Hidden and untouched by massive tourists.

We both rented 2 motorbikes and went to Tranh Stream first. What a nice place! Then we rode to Sao Beach after lunch at the stream (lunch was not so good). Sao Beach is an outstanding beach. We really enjoyed our time in Phu Quoc, especially with the CAMI restaurant where we spent most of our meals during 4 days in this beautiful island.

Preferred regular Vietnamese cuisine where the locals dined at.

Bai Dai, Bai Sao, Bai Kem were beautiful, but full of trash, so not a ideal place to swim. Just for sight seeing is wonderful. (Hope the people can change their habit toward environment) Better come in sunny weather (from October ~ April, but it can be a little change up to the year's climate)

And wase water goes straigt to beach from hotels, and you can swim with poop. If they did not wake upp with dirty promlem soon, the island sinks to garbage. So sad.

If the beaches aren't in front of a hotel or resort they are very dirty and covered in rubbish. This made me feel quite awful. The beaches around Duong Dong are filthy and also covered in rubbish. I also visited a place on the tourist map called Suoi Da Ban. I rode 5 klms down a dirt road and arrived at the river. It could be a very lovely place to wade in the cool water, but its also filthy. There is rubbish everywhere, it's really quite disgusting. All in all, although I liked Phu Quoc because of the beach at the resort I wouldn't recommend going there. The people are generally not very welcoming or friendly and the place is just being trashed. I would sooner spend my tourist dollars at a place more welcoming and where the locals actually appreciate and look after the local environment.

The inhabitants here are so friendly.

Even then, I wouldn't recommend staying more than 2-3 nights. If you're looking for some decent activities, shopping, food or anything remotely interesting, I'd suggest going somewhere else.

In my opinion, everything is overpriced. Restaurants served a low quality food and not tasty at all. The service was bad. The spa was bad even I went to the famous one, it cannot compare with spa in Saigon or Thailand. The beaches are not clean. The view is not beautiful. I really recommend saving your money and packing your stuff to Thailand. There are many islands with really nice beaches. The prices and services are much better. Let Phu Quoc take time to develop first. If you prefer beaches in Vietnam, Nha Trang is a good choice.

Open year round with a peak season from November to March, Phu Quoc is becoming well known for stunning beaches, untouched natural environment, the easy going and relaxed atmosphere, friendly locals, and fantastic scuba diving and snorkeling.

Price of everything is higher than in Kien Giang and Ho Chi Minh city.

Better value than anything else I saw . Families would need a tour or taxi . Driving around Duong Dong city was a breeze . Roads good . Once out of town , it was great . Great roads , hardly any traffic . Some beaches fairly busy in the south , almost deserted in the north . The water park seemed popular with locals and tourists alike . Seemed a bit pricey for me .

You will enjoy both resort and nature.

We liked it as people are still not too commercial. We commend you rend the motorbike and explore the island. The road is not too busy and safe. You can always stop by and enjoy your own beach anywhere. We liked the Sao beach a lot. Even though it is a bit far from long beach, but it is worthy in checking, especially if you have a young kid, it is a great place to visit. Don't miss the night market, try the red snipper! It is delicious, and cheap. Enjoy your staying in PhuQuoc!!

It is worth having your fill of seafood on this island as it doesn't get much better anywhere else in Vietnam

Besides, there are some specialties to check out in this area such as peper farm, fish sauce, local wine, and also a remaining of prision during Vietnam-US war time if you are interested in history.

There are numerous good eating places that cater for different preferences . Good sunsets can be enjoyed

the island is beautiful but the tourist infrastructure is garbage.

I have been to Phu Quoc twice in a month and will go back again but it is 'Vietnamese' standard of paradise. I still enjoy myself but have to overlook the garbage etc.
