“A Serene Escape at Ashinoko Hanaori, Hakone”

My recent four-night stay at Ashinoko Hanaori was an absolute delight, leaving me feeling completely relaxed and thoroughly well-looked after. This beautiful hotel is perfectly nestled in the heart of Hakone National Park, offering an ideal base for exploring the region's stunning natural beauty and attractions. One of the most impressive aspects of Ashinoko Hanaori is its prime location. It's incredibly convenient, being just a leisurely three-minute walk to both the Hakone Ropeway and the Pirate Ship pier. This meant easy access to the iconic sights, including breathtaking views of Mount Fuji from the cable car – a truly unforgettable experience. Beyond the main attractions, the area surrounding the hotel is a hiker's paradise, with numerous walking tracks easily accessible, allowing for invigorating strolls amidst the lush scenery. The staff at Ashinoko Hanaori truly set a high standard for hospitality. From the moment we arrived until our departure, every interaction was met with attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine politeness. It's clear they are all exceptionally well-trained, anticipating needs and ensuring every guest feels valued and cared for. Dining at the hotel was a highlight. Both the breakfast and dinner offerings were consistently excellent, featuring a wide array of delicious dishes that catered to various tastes. The quality of the food, combined with the comfortable dining environment, made every meal a pleasure. To further enhance the relaxation, the onsen (hot springs) facilities and available massages were superb. The onsen provided a tranquil retreat to unwind after a day of exploration, and the massages were wonderfully therapeutic, adding to the overall sense of rejuvenation. In summary, Ashinoko Hanaori exceeded all expectations. Our four-night stay allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the Hakone experience while enjoying the unparalleled comfort and impeccable service of the hotel. It's a truly restorative getaway that I would highly recommend to anyone seeking a peaceful and pampered retreat.

    “Exceptional”

The room is bright and has a clean atmosphere. There are samue (traditional Japanese work clothes) in the room, and yukata (summer kimono) is placed near the large public bath. There were many types of yukata, and it was enjoyable to choose. The ties for the yukata are in the room. I used both outdoor baths, and the view was nice and felt good. The shampoo, soap, and amenities were well-equipped, and there were towels and bath towels, so I could travel with less luggage. The changing room lockers were also secured with keys, which was reassuring. Meals were reserved online after check-in. Around 15:30, the 18:00 slot was fully booked, but I was able to secure a reservation for 17:45. It was enjoyable to have a buffet while looking at Lake Ashi. All the dishes were delicious. The pudding and soft-serve ice cream made from the same milk were tasty. The hamburger from the live kitchen was also tender and delicious. The all-you-can-drink alcohol option was helpful for those who wanted to sample a little bit or those who wanted to drink a lot. The breakfast with bread and scrambled eggs was delicious. The water basin terrace and foot bath were also great spots for photos and allowed for relaxation. There were many foreign guests, but there were no concerns regarding manners, and I was able to spend a comfortable time. The facial steamer in my room was not working well, so I used the one in the public bath's powder room. On the way back, there was only the 15:00 shuttle bus to Odawara available at check-in, so I returned by another method. Next time, I would like to make a reservation earlier. The staff were friendly and provided cheerful service, allowing me to enjoy my time leisurely. I hope to return again.

“Best days of my life ”

The hotel is absolutely beautiful with view of Lake Ashi. Room is spacious, clean and has a lake view. Everyday ,we enjoy sitting at the balcony and a warm foot bath. We have our buffet breakfast and dinner at the hotel , again with a great lake view . It's a few mins walk to the cable car station and bus station as well as pirate ship. All modes of transport is right there. There is a bus to bring you to Gotemba where you can switch to a 15mins ride to the outlet mall. If we didn't already but buy Disney tickets , I will be sure to extend my stay beyond 2 nights. We will be back!

“1 luxurious night at Lake Ashi”

We are a family of 4, with 2 adults, 1 college aged son, and our 12 year old daughter traveling to Hakone / Lake Ashi area for the first time ever, staying at the Ashinoko Hanaori Hotel. Location is great. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the Togendai Ropeway and to the pirate cruise terminal (all included in the Hakone Free Pass which we would recommend purchasing). The hotel is a 6 minute walk to a local bus depot called Kojiri(?) Lake Ashi can be visualized from the hotel grounds and our hotel room. Hotel Room is great too! We splurged and booked the lake view Japanese and Western family hotel room with a private onsen inside our hotel room, on our balcony. Hotel room had plenty of space for sleeping (with two regular twin beds and two tatami beds on the ground). We also had a living room area with a couch. The hotel room came with 2 complimentary rental sets of Japanese clothing for everyone. The hotel also provides 2-3 sets of complimentary slippers for everyone, including complimentary socks. The room also had complimentary toothbrushes, toothpaste, hairbrush, shampoo, body wash, hair conditioner, hand soap, facial cleansing oil, facial moisturizer and body moisturizer. The room also came with 8 bottles of water, complimentary teas, coffees and 8 clean ceramic cups for coffee and tea. The private onsen was so amazing. Hotel food was delicious. We booked the hotel package including a buffet dinner and buffet breakfast. We wore the Japanese clothing provided by the hotel to breakfast and dinner. I also used the hotel’s complimentary white wicker basket as my purse at the hotel at breakfast and dinner. The hotel also provides free shuttle service from and to the Odawara train station. You must arrange this shuttle service 24 hours in advance through the hotel front desk. We paid about $16 USD for 2 hours late checkout (12pm checkout instead of 10am). We spent extra time in our room and used the private onsen after breakfast. Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ashinoko Hanori! It was a 5 star hotel experience!

    “An incredibly beautiful view.”

After we got off the public transportation and logged our suitcases up the steps we found out they would’ve picked us up at the train station. We had a wonderful stay here at Hanaori Ashinoko. It is very conveniently located near to the pirate ship dock. We were able to go on the pirate ship then go to the Torii lake. We drove a swan boat and had a marvelous time in Hakone. This hotel had a private on scene on our balcony that overlooked a gorgeous green forest area. Everyone we met at this hotel we’re friendly and happy to be of service to us. We had a lovely time and would definitely come back.
