“A hidden gem accommodation in Hakone with great cost-performance ratio.”

As many reviews have mentioned, the owner of this inn is very warm and friendly, and it's worth noting that his English is fluent, making communication very easy. Perhaps due to the lack of guests that day, the owner upgraded my room, for which I am very grateful. Unfortunately, when I arrived on the first day, I missed my stop on the bus and had to walk to the inn. It's a bit of a shame that the inn's location is somewhat awkward, situated halfway up the hill. If I wanted to go to a nearby convenience store, I had to walk quite a distance, but to reach tourist attractions, I could just take a bus from the nearby stop. Trying out a Japanese-style bed-making was very special for me. After learning from the internet, I managed to complete the task smoothly, which was quite fun. By the way, the inn offers hot springs, which have a private space for one person. At first, the water was really hot and needed some cold water to adjust. I had seen many reviews mentioning a cute little dog named Ramu in the store, but unfortunately, I didn’t see it this time, and I didn’t ask the owner out of fear of being too rude. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay here; it's very suitable for backpackers, and I would stay here again if I have the opportunity!

    “Unforgettable stay!”

I stayed here with my daughter (7) and it was her first time staying in a guesthouse/hostel. She absolutely loved it! The dog, Rum, was the sweetest and was the highlight. The people we met there were all so kind, and the owner was incredible! He really went above and beyond to make sure we were all comfortable and happy. We walked out of there with many new friends, and can’t wait to go back again next time!

    “Excellent”

Staff can speak really good English and is really helpful and nice! However the place is on the hill so if you are carrying large luggage please take the bus to uesokokura bus stop instead of hotel mae ni, it will be easier for u to walk to the place. The toilet is having a not very nice smell but it’s actually clean! When i arrived, the staff even allowed me for early check in! They have free tea and coffee too!

    “Comforting and heartwarming space”

It's an incredibly comforting space for great value with very nice amenities. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, and of course, the dog is as well! Using the onsen after walking around Hakone all day is incredibly rejuvenating, especially as you can also spend time in the bar/lounge area and chat with others while eating delicious homemade food and drinks for extremely good value. The other guests and visitors were incredibly kind as well and made for great company. I don't feel like I could have booked a better place in Hakone for myself and cherish my memories of staying here. Some of my most positive memories of Hakone are of this guesthouse, and I would look forward to booking here again if I were to return to Hakone.

    “A pleasant surprise ”

It is very easy to get to using the railway. There is a laundry facility next door which makes it convenient for backpackers. I was surprised that there is even an onsen. The bed is comfortable, but cold so make sure you pack long pyjamas. I slept with thick pants and a hoodie. There is a cute dog and the staff are a delight. Enjoy your stay.
