This distinguished property offers an authentic Hakone experience with its central location and classic amenities. The hotel's strategic position provides convenient access to major attractions via local bus services, with shops and dining options just minutes away. Notable Features: Stunning traditional garden, perfect for morning strolls Private mineral water sourcing Well-maintained public onsen Clean, odor-free rooms with wooden flooring Exemplary staff service and professionalism While some facilities show signs of their decade-old renovation, the overall maintenance ensures comfort and functionality. The peaceful environment contributed to quality rest during our stay. “Excellent Stay ”

I normally do not write such a detailed review but let me preface it by saying I had an excellent stay. For value, generally expensive to book a room with an attached open-air bath but the highland hotel’s price is excellent. The room was very clean as well as the open air bath outside (there is mineral build up but that’s to be expected with hot spring water). The room itself is spacious with high ceilings and the decor is minimal but tasteful. For services, the public baths are very nice and the spa nearby is comfortable. I did not have dinner at the attached restaurant but the Japanese breakfast was decent. Finally as for the location, it is a bit far up the mountain but the bus station is named after the hotel and the stop’s right outside. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Hakone.

    “It was so good!”

I got off the cable car at Gora Station and walked to the bus stop through the forest, which was a bit scary since it was getting dark past 6 PM. When I took the bus from Gora to the hotel and went to the front desk, I was very grateful for the kind staff who assisted me! The onsen is open until midnight, so after checking in, I enjoyed going to the onsen at my convenience, which was great. There’s a tax of 150 yen per person, but I was very satisfied. The next day, unexpectedly, it snowed a lot, and after enjoying the onsen in the morning, I had to take the Romancecar to Narita Airport, which made me worry about whether I could make it because of the snow. However, I was really grateful when the staff were kind and helpful during checkout. The Romancecar was operating normally, and they also informed me that the bus to Hakone Yumoto was running, which made things very convenient. The problem was that I lost my phone while heading to checkout and was running around like a mad person searching for it (since my phone had all my travel tickets and schedules, it wasn't just a simple phone!). I sincerely thank the kind-looking Japanese grandfather who found it for me. I will definitely come back here next year after the renovation is completed! Now that I know where everything is, I won't get lost at all. I genuinely appreciate the front desk staff! I will never forget the outdoor hot spring with the falling snow!

“I went with my younger sibling~”

It is certainly a bit far from Hakone Yumoto Station, so it might be slightly inconvenient if you are traveling with the elderly. However, there is a bus that goes right in front of the hotel, making it easy to find! As soon as you get off at Hakone Yumoto Station, you can send your luggage to the hotel and enjoy your time until around 4 PM before checking in. The large communal bath isn't very big, but the water quality is quite good! One downside is that there is no convenience store inside the hotel, so you have to walk about 7 minutes to find one. It also gets very dark by 6 PM, and there are almost no restaurants nearby. The staff may not speak English very well, but they kindly provide explanations! If you are planning to go from Hakone to Gotemba or Kawaguchiko, there is a hotel along the way, so it might be a good option to use! I recommend it~

“It is a spacious and comfortable hotel!”

I was able to stay very cheaply with no meals included! It's right next to the Glass Museum, which makes it convenient to check in right after visiting the museum! The location is very quiet, and the garden and indoor areas are spacious and comfortable. It seems they will be closing for renovations, but it's such a beautiful hotel that it doesn't really need any remodeling.
