Hang Dong hotels & places to stay

We had a short 3 days, 2 nights stay at this hotel. Its worth every penny based on rates on Agoda. The hotel is just like their website and the staff are all very friendly. Based on the rate we booked on Agoda, the staff told us at check in that the breakfast on the last day won't be included and we had to pay extra (it whould have been annoying if we needed the breakfast, but since we were leave on a 7AM flight so it didn't matter to us, but they should not discriminate because we paid a lower rate). The swimming pool is the best part of the hotel as well as the rooms themselves. We also enjoyed the free Yoga class in the morning. Overall, I would go back and stay at this hotel again when I am in Chiang Mai. I just hope due to the location, there are better transportation options that can be arranged by the hotel at reasonable prices.

They say there's no place like home, but they don't say there's a place known as Home away from Home. In regards to my stay there at the Flora Creek Hotel Apartments, it's definately like home away from home. I had a wonderful time and stay during my visit to Dubai and after being out, it was great to know that you'll be returning to a comfortable and relaxing place. I had a great scenic view of the city and the staff was absolutely marvelous. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, it had everything you could imagine and a personnel chef's to prepare eggs and all the other food stuff I requested. I'd like to thank the staff for accomadating me and making me feel comfortable and relaxed. I'd especially like to thank Mr. Purnar for the wonderful towel decorations he had for me everyday, displayed on my bed and special shout out to Mrs. Fatima and Mr. Rajnesh for handling all my concerns at the reception desk. I highly recommend this hotel if you're staying long or short term visit in Dub

I visit Chiang Mai almost every year, this is the first time we stayed at this gem of a place as we wanted a more quiet and peaceful location. The hotel is situated on a beautiful landscape. From the moment you enter, you realize that everything inside and outside the hotel is of the utmost quality. The rooms are modern and in pristine condition. The staff is highly trained, helpful and friendly. An example of this - We celebrated my fathers' 50th Birthday at the hotel, and we requested for a cake to be made and delivered to the room at midnight, everything went as planned, they all came in with a big smile at midnight and wished my father, and when we asked for the payment at check out, they said it was complimentary. There were many such instances that made our stay feel like home. There is a cute little farm next to the hotel open throughout the day for guests to visit. The breakfast is a la carte style and has everything you would want. Both the restaurants at the property are wonderful and have a great variety of cuisines to offer. After a long day of trekking and excursions, we enjoyed the complimentary Spa too. I did not get a chance to play golf during this trip, but I do look forward to visiting the driving range the next time. If you are looking to spend a few peaceful days away from the noise of the city, this is the best resort for you.

I booked 2 suits at chantra khiri. One room for my wife, 2 kids and myself. The other room for my parents. We stayed for 3 nights during Christmas holidays. The room is very spacious and the quality of the equipments used inside the room are superb. Breakfast was great we didn't get bored after 3 meals. Service was very impressive all the staffs was very polite and owner of the hotel is also very friendly. Only improvement is for the service to be a little faster. The weather was really good as well since chantra khiri is located in hang Dong which is about 40 mins away from the city. So if you looking for a place for hideaway and recharge this is the place to be.

A bit far away from the main road but if you are looking for your relax, kind of escape form the reality you may come to stay here. All the staff is the best, I can felt they work with their hearts. Everyone will help you everything from the entrance. Room was just perfect, I stayed alone in a suit room. Food (Dinner) was great as same as the 5 stars hotel. Breakfast is not that bad with a very good view, I would love to be here again for sure. I am pretty sure you will enjoy your stay here, nothing to complain because it's all perfect. Thanks a lot for all the staffs who took a very good care for me tho.

the property is gorgeous… organic gardens throughout, a duck pond, villas scattered around the property, all surrounded by trees, greenery, peace and quiet. there are garden villas and pool villas, a resort pool, bikes to roam around on, free wifi and a beautiful spa. one of the most spectacular things about narittaya is the food. much of what is served comes from their organic garden and you can literally watch them pick the lettuce for the salad you just ordered… not only is it fresh, organic and healthy, but it is delicious too! a few must haves include the egg white frittata, fresh baked bread and jams, vegetarian wrap with grilled vegetables and baked ricotta cheese, narittaya somtum and taro parcel, which all make great vegetarian dishes. i hear the mataba and grilled chicken and avocado sandwich are good too. their famed chef has been away, but they've had a guest french chef who has also created many spectacular specials since we arrived, including a coconut creme brûlée served in a coconut! what really makes narittaya special though is the staff… are like family… they are all extremely friendly, engaging and helpful. they have shared their culture and their lives with us, everything from showing us the local hang dong market, to taking us out for a night in the old city, even feeding the local buddhist monks breakfast with us during their morning walk. they speak excellent english and always have a smile and helping attitude.

First of all. This is our first time in Chiang mai and we rented a car through out the whole journey. First stop from Chiang mai airport to hill borough took 1.5 hours. It’s located up on the hill with a lot of turns needed to reach up. From the bottom of the place to the hotel takes 20-30 mins. At night driving need to be careful as there are a lot of stray dogs and they will cross the road suddenly and very dark. Weather was very good during early morning and after evening as it was cold. Hillsborough I would rate 5/5. The place was so beautiful and it was really peaceful. The rooms are very clean and the staff are very nice. Early morning breakfast was American breakfast with bacon, fried egg, ham, mushroom, small hash brown, salad. And there are free flow of orange,milk,cereal,tea. There are a small area where you could view the goose, duck. The swimming pool was small but suitable for kids. We stayed in Pete room two storey and the cons was the stairs was really high and hard for children to climb up and down so have to be careful on this. And the showers are warm at one moment, and change to cold suddenly. Bed was very very comfortable and pillow is firm too. Numerous Thai tv channels. Wifi was quick and convenient. I will come back again. There are numerous resorts/ inn nearby and you could dine at the cafe or down the hill. Really very lovely place. And free parking if you r driving. Really need to have a car to come or you may grab but I’m not sure if it’s convenient. My stay was perfect.

Pleasant stay in a deluxe room which is separate from the main building. Nice natural ambiance. Great helpful staff. Breakfast was good and sufficient. Only grief was that you have to lug your bags up a narrow staircase to your room. The TV reception was bad. Separate bathroom and toilet. Cons. No place to put or hang your clothes in the bathroom with only a narrow towel rack. You need to on the shower tap for a few minutes for hot water and then had to play around with the tap for the cold water to get the right temperature.

We loved staying at Phutarntree. The staff were so friendly and kind. They loved spending time with our 4-month-old daughter and even walked around with her so my wife and I could eat a bit of dinner alone. We felt like they welcomed us as family. And then of course the hotel itself is AMAZING, hearing running waterfalls from your room, eating strawberries grown right behind where you stayed (and picked that morning), and lots of great mountain views. We totally recommend Phutarntree and would stay again.

we enjoyed staying there so much! it was the best place to just chill and relax. we were so happy to have a kitchen that we could use to cook for ourselves. since there were fruits and eggs all the time, we did not even have to buy a lot of things. the pool was nice, clean and cold. they have a lot of animals but it felt like doing some kind farm holiday. if you want to explore the city center of chiang mai, it is to far. but as a start for the nationalparks you are in a good location!

Owner/host and wife was very nice, patient, informative, considerate, warm and friendly. Explained to us on places to visit in chiangmai. Made us feel welcome, free pick up shuttle from airport. Recommended and brought us on private tour around chiangmai and chiangrai with economical rates. Room was nice and clean bedsheets. Place for improvement: Laundry service need to be upgraded to provide DIY laundry washing machine for budget travelers. Breakfast was okay but can be improved. TV channels need at least one channel with english language for international travelers. Preferably more maps and pets. Recommended place to stay.

If you're looking for a nice quiet place away from town this is it. I gave the location 4 stars because it was about 30 minutes from Chiang Mai but the scenery that surrounded us was amazing! And nights were peaceful. My youngest loved going on Nature walks to hunt bugs and collect flowers. Also, this place had the best staff I have ever encountered. They were always smiling and ready to help. Their positive, happy personalities were sincere and they made us feel like family. The food here was also delicious! We will definitely visit again.

I stayed at Baan Tawai Lanna Resort with two other friends. We selected this location because we were visiting friends in the Hang Dong area. The rooms are comfortable and large in size. The staff were so friendly and accommodating especially asking us what we wanted to eat for breakfast the next day. You will not go hungry as they provide a variety of food for breakfast. The location is far from Chiang Mai however we had a vehicle so it was fine for us. This is a great location if you want to be away from the city and plan to shop at Baan Tawai.

Beautiful resort grounds but the service here is terrible. It’s so terrible that we decide to check out earlier. When we made a booking, we requested a quiet room at a corner so we will not be disturbed by loud smoking mainland China tourists. No one confirmed the request and the staff just placed our room sandwiched with Chinese tourists next to our room. Reception staff have terrible English and could not communicate with us on simple request. I had to asked Agoda to tell me to communicate on date change confirmation. The electricity went out during a rain and they only brought us a fan around 4 hours later after we repeatedly asked them to give us a update. Unless you a mainland Chinese tourist, best avoid this place.

Commenting little late but I think I MUST do to give full credit to this hotel. A small resort with 5-5 rooms out of which we booked 3 rooms so it was almost like we were the only one staying. In middle of mountains, views are not so great but it is within the woods so you staying in forest. Best part is their food. Awesome taste, great breakfast, vegetable are so fresh as it comes from the organic farming done by this resort. Great and personalize service Not a luxurious resort but it has everything basic you need. Just relax and enjoy your day. Some improvement required to better the rooms during winters as it really gets cold (believe me it really cold and we experienced below 10 degree which is rare in Thailand) and damp and water in the wash basin does not has hot water. Awesome Weather. Overall great stay with my family and we all relaxed and that's what we wanted away from Bangkok. Thanks to the team there.

The property was perfect- just what I had in mind for a few days of R&R. Quiet, calm, serene; spacious room with a lounge room and a very spacious bathroom. The best part of the stay was the service provided by the staff, especially Mr Sawai - very kind and accommodating to say the least. Two drawbacks - its far away from downtown Chiang Mai (approx 15kms) and has no access to public transport. You have to rely on taxis or drive. The other hitch - no restaurant on the premises and no restaurants in the vicinity. Its almost set in the country side so to speak but they were willing to let me use the kitchen if I wished to. All in all, a great experience and would definitely stay there again.

We book this place because we are living in a city and I really would like ny kids to feel how farm life are like.. When we reach here very late, but the staff is really considerateas he told us to get rest in the little hut first and check in tomorrow morning. Early morning we were greeted by the super friendly owners. Its not really that run down as some of the reviewers says... the hut is made of wood and bamboo so can't expect much from the quality but is please enough. I am shock that there are no aircon, i guess i forgot to check but it is surprising very cooling even in mid-afternoon. There are playground/trampoline/strawberry farm and some very cute chickens in the vicinity for the kids. The restuarant food is normal and pricing is reasonable. They have motorcycle and bicycle for rents so traveling to the nearby shops is easy! The only cons we have are it is about 20mins drive from the main city and it is not wuite accesible for people who do not have theit own vehicles. I have told the owners about this and they are please to look into it(may be there will be shuttle in the future?) Overall i am really glad that I've book this place and really enjoy my stay with my families members and friends. Will definitely be back!

I just returned from a 3 week stay during low season at this hotel. I was the only guess at that time so my stay was quite peaceful. The photos are very accurate of this hotels property and rooms, so I didn't feel a need to add photos with my review. The grounds, rooms, and pool were very well maintained by the staff. My room was very clean and spacious upon arrival and it was cleaned daily while I was there. The hotel itself IS outside of the city center which I preferred. The Hotel is on a main road and is next to Ping River, so it's fairly easy to locate if your out and about on your own. I had my own motorbike rental which made it easy for me to get around. The gate closes at 20:00pm and opens at 7:00am..However, you can open the gate yourself when coming or going during after hours. The Staff are friendly, but speak Thai only and the manager (Ann) speaks very good english. I felt the room could've used a small microwave tho..Very nice hotel, I will stay here again..Thanks!

The room we got with the balcony was really well decorated. The location was peaceful and in the middle of lushness and you can enjoy the buffaloes and elephants that are always hanging out there. But then getting there without renting your own car would be a pain. There is no staff around if you need anything (but you might not need much. The place is well prepared) The cleaning lady though seems a bit indecisive and hesitant so it proves to be less helpful than otherwise. I’m Thai so I can communicate, but even that was more complicated than I expected, and I could only imagine how harder it would be for foreigners. The lady at Cafe Farang next door though speaks great English and was of great help. I would say if you want a spot isolated and peaceful with nice decor, you got it, but mind other aspects that are quite lacking.

Chiang Mai Corner Spa Resort is a fantastic oasis in Hang Dong. May wife and I discovered it on a date night bicycle ride. We were impressed with every touch, the thoughtfulness of the design, the appropriate attentiveness of the staff and the brilliance of the surroundings. I don't mean to sound superfluous, but having stayed in many hotels across Thailand, this is our favorite. I hope the staff can maintain the quality for many years to come.

Cant say enough good things nite staff and day staff soo kind and helpful help find your way around taxi even helped me out with storage for a few days while i took a short trip. No dissapointments chaing rai a 15 min yeow bua away 15 bht and walking distance or white bus to baan twian carving village and just a shot walk to day market or outlet mall or just peacefullness. Fresh breakfast 99bht full meal deal. Theres a manufacturing company a ways away and can here some noise in daytime but no discourgement. O and sorry no englsh channels on tv. House keeping daily fresh water and towels. I would come stay anytime. Love your staff great stay, o no pool but all good

This is a very nice little boutique style hotel about 15 minutes from the city. The rooms were huge with a seperate bedroom,lounge and kitchenette. The pool was very nice and the layout of the hotel is very green and the gardens are well kept. The staff were always very helpful and tried hard to provide a good service. The hotel is a little way out of town but it is located next to Kad Farang witch is a large tourist market area with a couple of nice restaurants and coffee shops...We had a rental car and so the location was no problem but if you don't there are planty of local taxi's plying the Hang Dong road into Chiang Mai.

Unforgettable for good and bad reasons. When we stayed at the Namrae Maewang Phairin resort is was after peak season and we were practically the only people staying there and it felt like the place wasn't really ready for or expecting guests. It seemed like a hotel with a whole lot of potential but a bit neglected not really living up to the pictures and really in need of some maintenance. That being said it was a fascinating place a truly unique and innovative with the rooms built around huge trees that actually went through some of the rooms like an amazing feature. Also the benefit of being the only guests was the peace and quiet and being able to meet and talk to the owners who were very friendly and very interesting. The hotel restaurant served nice food with organic vegetables and the rooms were of a decent standard in the unique way.
